Norwegian photographer Rune Guneriussen is an artist to watch out for. The images Guneriussen creates are fantastic but his subjects aren’t all that strange or unusual, it’s all in how he uses them. Guneriussen takes everyday objects, anything from lamps, chairs and telephones, and places them in the middle of nature. The clash between environment and manufactured object creates a world of whimsy in which these inanimate objects inherit features that are reminiscent of animals, wildlife and humans.Norwegian photographer Rune Guneriussen is an artist to watch out for. London artists now have a sustainable solution for the dilemma of renting expensive studio space to work in. Furniture Designer Auro Foxcraft purchased four old Underground subway cars for 200 pounds each and mounted them to a rooftop to create some unique, affordable office space. Located on the roof of a brick warehouse in Shoreditch, London, the Village Underground, as it’s called, provides affordable studio space for artists at the cost of 15 pounds a week. The seats were removed and the cars were retrofitted to create the highly desirable and much needed studio space.London artists now have a sustainable solution for the dilemma of renting expensive... more

Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion is quite possibly one of the best attractions Disney’s Imagineers have created during the theme park’s history. From the tombstones surrounding the mansion’s decaying exterior to its cobwebbed interior, the whole ride creates a pitch-perfect atmosphere of gothic glee. This year the attraction celebrates its 40th Anniversary. To commemorate the milestone, one of Disney’s favorite artists, Shag, has been commissioned to create original artwork inspired by the ever popular attraction.Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion is quite possibly one of the best attractions... more

Treetents, by Dutch sculptor and designer Dre Wapenaar, were originally designed to assist England’s Road Alert Group, an activist organization fighting the construction of highways through forests. During protests, activists covered themselves and hid in live trees. The tents were created to give activists a comfortable habitat to reside in during protests and prevent the trees from being cut down. But treetents are also great for a family of campers and have made their way into the consumer arena.Treetents, by Dutch sculptor and designer Dre Wapenaar, were originally designed to... more

Need a good excuse to play with your food or not eat your vegetables? Make art with them instead. Artist Ju Duoqi has mastered the medium of vegetable art, something I didn’t even know existed until an hour ago. Duoqi’s artistic endeavor first began in the summer of 2006 when she bought and peeled several pounds of peas over the course of two days which she then strung together on a wire to create a skirt, a top, a headdress and magic wand, and then photographed it. Named Pea Beauty Pageant, this was her very first foray into vegetable art. Since then Duoqi has used vegetables to recreate famous paintings from throughout history.Need a good excuse to play with your food or not eat your vegetables? Make art with... more
