In 1954 Eisenhower was President, gas was 21 cents a gallon and the highly publicized case of Brown vs. Board of Education marked the end of racial segregation in public schools. The Upper Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia was about to quietly distinguish itself in the advancement of civil rights. A little-known fact not found in history books, it was the year the Philadelphia Housing Authority made an initial bold step toward integrating the white-dominated Liddonfield Housing Project. Five black families were to move in. The first among them was the Coleman family. I interviewed Dolores Coleman Jennings about her family’s contribution to public housing history. In 1954 Eisenhower was President, gas was 21 cents a gallon and the highly publicized... more

I can't believe I didn't hear about this until today. Arguably one of the top ten greatest rappers of all time, living hip hop legend and the very afrocentric KRS-1 will perform in Portland to support the racist Ron Ku Klux Klan member Paul on October 16, 2011.
********
KRS-One isn't one to shy away from his, um, unique political views—the only thing crazier than 9/11 being an inside job is rapping with R.E.M.—so it's not too surprising that the influential emcee is making the rounds in support of the dopest of Republican Presidential candidates... Ron Paul.
You thought I was going to say Herman Cain, didn't you? Racist.
KRS-One is headlining The Ron Paul R3volution Tour—which is a shameful title since any man born in 1935 (!) should never have to revert to the same EXTREME rules that only seem to apply to Fast & Furious sequels—which will swing by the Mt. Tabor Theater on October 16th. In politically volatile times like now, it's important to remember the famous words Gill Scott-Heron said: tH3 R3volution W1LL n0t B t3l3v1s3d, V0t3 r0n P4ul!I can't believe I didn't hear about this until today. This video has been circulating on the Korean Internet this week of a black gentleman yelling at and threatening an elderly Korean couple. It's definitely going to be a viral hit by the end of the week, as it's making its rounds around the world as we speak...
Anyway, his violent behavior was the result of him misunderstanding the elderly man’s comment to him. The elderly man reportedly said “니가 여기 앉아” (a sign of consideration) but not knowing Korean, the man in question interpreted “니가” as the N-word which led to his violent outburst.

Soaring food prices caused by ethanol production – funded by Gore – are killing poor black people.
Al Gore is now so desperate to “win the conversation,” or in other words ‘silence the dissent’ surrounding global warming that he is now equating those who question ManBearPig with racists who supported spraying black people with water cannons.
Of course, the delicious irony is the fact that the promotion of man-made global warming and the development of biofuels is killing predominantly black people in third world countries as a result of soaring food prices.
“I remember, again going back to my early years in the South, when the Civil Rights revolution was unfolding, there were two things that really made an impression on me,” Gore told Climate Reality Project collaborator Alex Bogusky. “My generation watched Bull Connor turning the hose on civil rights demonstrators and we went, ‘Whoa! How gross and evil is that?’ My generation asked old people, ‘Explain to me again why it is okay to discriminate against people because their skin color is different?’ And when they couldn’t really answer that question with integrity, the change really started.”
Gore then went on to talk about how to “win the conversation” on global warming, by comparing skeptics with racists, adding “It is important to get that out there, absolutely.”
Gore wants to make man-made climate change skepticism a thought crime on a par with uttering racist obscenities, once again revealing the hardcore authoritarian tendencies that cloud the entire global warming movement.
Since the skeptics are clearly ‘winning the conversation’, with polls showing a decreasing belief in climate change alarmism, merely insinuating skeptics are akin to holocaust deniers by labeling them “climate deniers” is no longer sufficient for the likes of Gore.
In reality, if you want to point the finger at anyone for encouraging racism, it’s overwhelmingly the global warming alarmists themselves.
Climate change alarmism and implementation of global warming policies is a crime of the highest nature, because it is already having a genocidal impact in countries like Haiti, where the doubling of food prices is resulting in a substantial increase in starvation, poverty and death.
As a National Geographic Report confirmed, “With food prices rising, Haiti’s poorest can’t afford even a daily plate of rice, and some must take desperate measures to fill their bellies,” by “eating mud,” partly as a consequence of “increasing global demand for biofuels.”
In April 2008, World Bank President Robert Zoellick admitted that biofuels were a “significant contributor” to soaring food prices that have led to poor people dying from starvation as a result of biofuels dominating land that would normally be used to harvest food.
Even man-made global warming advocate George Monbiot admits that promotion of biofuels “is causing starvation in the poor world,” particularly in Swaziland, where the decision to allocate several thousand hectares of farmland to ethanol production despite the country being in the grip of a famine was labeled “a crime against humanity” by Jean Ziegler, the UN’s special rapporteur.
Not only are biofuels starving millions of people, they are also leading to environmental destruction, by accelerating the growth of dangerous chemicals and pesticides.
Gore was an enthusiastic supporter of biofuel projects even as it became clear they were exacerbating the starvation of millions of predominantly black people in the third world, and yet he has the temerity to label critics of such practices as “racist”. Part of Gore’s $638 million Generation Investment Management funding was ploughed into the production of biofuels, before Gore himself was forced to admit he was wrong to push biofuels years later, after they had helped kill millions of poor black people.
But it’s not just biofuels, a product of global warming alarmism, that are unleashing a genocide against black people in poorer countries, it’s the whole anti-development mantra embraced by climate change activists that is being enforced by supranational organizations like the World Bank and the IMF in the name of reducing carbon dioxide, the evil life-giving gas that plants breathe and humans exhale.
Indeed, poorer countries rejected the 2009 Copenhagen climate agreement precisely because it discriminated against third world nations.

A consciously Black opposition to the First Black President, on issues of peace and economic justice, is taking shape.” Some of the players “on tour”: Cynthia McKinney’s “Eyewitness Libya” tour; Tavis Smiley and Cornel West’s “Poverty Tour”; and Congressional Black Caucus efforts to put distance between themselves and Obama on their “Job Fair/Town Hall” tour.
Meanwhile, Obama’s minions attempt to maintain a “Black Wall” around the president, with diminishing results. “The realization that the dream was a chimera is one thing, but to awaken to a catastrophe in which the Great Black Hope is revealed as the Great Black Betrayer, is another magnitude of pain.
The final unraveling of Obamaism – at root, a kind of delirium centered on a corporate-crafted Great Black Hope – will be nowhere near complete until the hallucinogen is substantially purged from the psyche of its core constituency, Black America. Tentative moves by outfits like the Progressive Caucus of the California Democratic Party to explore the possibility of a primary challenge to Obama are encouraging, to be sure. But Obama’s awesome power to neutralize and disfigure progressive politics in the United States owes its potency to the First Black President’s psychological hold on African Americans, historically the nation’s most Left constituency. As long as Obama’s very presence in the White House continues to mangle African American political perceptions, effectively neutering Blacks as a social force, the chances of a progressive revival are nil.
Therefore, probably the most important political developments of the late summer are taking place in Black America – some of them “on tour.” Among activists, at least, Obama’s “Black Wall” finally cracked with the Euro-American assault on Libya. It was the straw that broke the bonds between Obama and Black nationalists and leftists, who were forced to choose between icons: the heady symbolism of a Black President versus Mother Africa. Spurred by former Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney’s ongoing “Eyewitness Libya” tour, a distinctive, Black-led anti-war movement is emerging, one that is radical, anti-imperial and, specifically, anti-Obama.A consciously Black opposition to the First Black President, on issues of peace and... more

A small study of maternal deaths in New York City rings loud warning bells for pregnant African American women. Experts offer ideas on lowering some of the deadliest risks for all women: hypertension, C-section, embolism and pre-eclampsia.
One of the few looks at maternal mortality in the United States was New York City's recent analysis of 161 women who died from 2001 to 2005.
It's a small study with loud warning bells for African American women, who make up 24 percent of the city's maternity population.
Fifty-eight percent of those who died of pregnancy-induced conditions in the study were black and 10 percent were white. Hispanic and Asian/Pacific Islander pregnant women died at twice the rate of white pregnant women, but at significantly lower rates than blacks.
Women over 40 were found to be about 2.6 times more likely to die from childbirth-related conditions than younger women. Forty-nine percent were obese. Pregnant women who had private insurance and those insured by Medicaid –government insurance for those with low incomes--had similar rates of pre-natal care.
The New York City report drew no conclusions about how to lower the city's high rate of maternal deaths among African Americans.
In the United States 1 out of every 7 maternal deaths occurs six weeks after delivery, so some deaths might have been prevented if the woman received more follow-up care.

Is it just me, or is Donald Trump starting to make anyone else miss the heady sophisticated days of Sarah Palin? During a radio interview today, Trump gave his assessment of why Obama was able to beat Clinton in 2008. Trump blamed, “The Blacks,” and then claimed that people voted for Obama based on race, not merit.
During an interview with Fred Dicker on Talk1300 things got 1950’s style racial when while discussing recent poll numbers, Trump lamented that he probably wouldn’t get the support from black people that he deserved. According to The New York Observer’s PolitickerNY, Trump blamed race for Obama ‘s election,
“I tell it like it is,” Trump said. “[Y]ou’ll hear a political reporter go on and say it had nothing to do with race. But how come she had such a tiny piece of the vote? And you know, it’s a very sad thing.
“I have a great relationship with the blacks. I’ve always had a great relationship with the blacks. But unfortunately, it seems that, you know, the numbers you cite are very, very frightening numbers.”
Dicker said, somewhat rhetorically, that votes should always be based on merit, not on race.
“If that were the case, why did Hillary Clinton do so poorly?” Trump asked.
Trump has apparently decided to add the racists to his birther coalition. The blacks, seriously? What is this 1957? Donald Trump was trying to marginalize and minimize the Obama presidency by suggesting that it was only African-Americans who got him elected as some sort of race based novelty.
According to the Brookings Institute, here is an overview of how Obama fared demographically, “Unlike his two Democratic predecessors, Obama won the suburbs by a margin of 50-48 (compared with their losing margins of 5 and 2 points respectively in 2000 and 2004). And Obama did far better than Gore and Kerry among adults under age 45, college grads and persons with some college. He won the fast-growing Hispanic population by a 36 point margin (67-31) double Kerry’s margin of 18 points, as well as the black and Asian voter groups by significantly higher margins. And while whites, overall, still favored Republicans, GOP margins shrunk substantially from 2004 for white men (down to 16 point from 25) as well as white women (down to 7 points from 11). Some part of this decline in GOP margins can be attributed to the voting proclivities of new, younger whites (Obama actually carried whites 18-29 by 10 points, the only age group among whites he carried) and white college grads, who continued their long term political migration toward the Democratic Party.”
The Obama coalition is not only blacks. It is young white people, Hispanics, Asians, suburbanite, and college grads. In 2008, Obama brought a whole new demographic to the Democratic Party. Obama did win 95% of the African-American vote. However, African-American turnout was only 13% of the total vote, so it was mathematically impossible for Obama to win the presidency strictly with African-American support.
The same coalition that powered Obama in the fall also carried him to victory in the primaries. Clinton lost because younger Democrats supported Obama. Hillary’s support in the primaries in many ways McCain’s in the general. Hillary supporters were in general, older, whiter, and more conservative. Clinton like McCain ran strongest with older white men. This is the same demo that likely will be drawn to Trump.
Is there anything more ridiculous than Donald Trump talking about merit, when he has never held elective office in his life, and he believes that his first run for office should be the presidential? What has Trump ever done in the political arena to be worthy of presidential consideration?
Donald Trump was trying to play the race card already. The early Trump campaign strategy looks like an appeal straight to the gutter centered on conspiracy theories, racism, and hate.
Trump seems to already have the Republican primary audience pegged. He knows what they want, and he is going to give it to them.
I’m sure that the 25%-30% of Americans who agree with Trump will support him in the primaries and beyond, while the rest of the country including “The Blacks” will be reelecting Barack Obama.

Kobe Bryant looking like a f**king fa**ot in this photo by Ruven Afandor.
Kobe Bryant did the unthinkable. In a moment of heated passion and utter annoyance at a play on a basketball court, he spewed the two words that no homosexual likes to hear. This quickly became GLAAD’s call to arms, rainbow flag in hand, crying (with tears) foul. There was a time that simply the F-word was taboo extraordinaire on the courts with penalties mounting as the inner city kids were taking over the sport. This recent Kobe-Gate multiplies the drama times two because when he screamed F**cking Fa**ot, he was not just whistling Dixie. It was a double entendre and you had two no-no’s for the price of one.
As a homosexual Jew who would have slaughter in minutes by the Nazis and a few current Republicans, I would like to draw a line in the sand and say that it is OK to cross it. We all say words that we do not mean literally. As the world become beyond homogenized and political correctness traps up into a frozen state of not knowing what to say, I say let bygones be bygones and just don’t make a habit of it. A year ago I wrote a piece called The End of Political Correctness and to this day, I think it still holds true. Frankly, things never will change. There will be N-words and F-words till Judgment Day, so why judge people for a slip of the tongue? A slap on the wrist , rather, a slap on the ass is the appropriate penalty here.
Here is what I wrote on April 2, 2010:
Over the last few decades, we have become curiously, annoyingly and extremely politically correct and certain words have become absolutely taboo. That which was once acceptable is now considered offensive and there are times when you just don’t know what to say for fear of offending anyone or everyone around you. In the early 1970s, I was bussed to an all–black high school. “Black” was the acceptable term then, whereas now, “African-American” is the new black, replacing what was once the new “colored”. My ancestors are from Russia and Poland, do I walk around saying I am Russian-American, or worse, Polish-American? We are caught in the quagmire of what is the “right thing to say” and quite frankly, I see no light at the end of this tunnel – not even a glimmer.
The expression “politically correct” or “political correctness” can be traced back to 1920s Germany, when communist academia sought to impose their views on students. The term became more frequently used in the 1960s and 1970s by suburban bleeding-heart liberals, feminists and progressives who were intent on impacting the media, while leaving an emotional imprint on the Baby Boomer generation. As Boomers became adults, they clung on to the notion of being “politically correct”, however, adapting some of the initial ideas to surprisingly new and often meticulously planed-out hidden agendas.
What we now have is a wide-ranging group of hypocrites in charge of the media and most industries, where everyone is expected to play nice in the sandbox. The climate of corporate politics suggests that you “keep your head down” while those in higher positions, do as they please regarding dubious hiring practices, stealing, or worse, illegal activities as in the case of the banking culture and while I am at it, the Catholic Church. I refer to this group as the “nouveaux-hypocritical”. In light of the recent attempted terrorist attack on Christmas Day in Detroit by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (a.k.a. “The Underwear Bomber”), there’s a renewed outcry for stricter airport screening regarding “certain types”, or, as it is more commonly referred to, racial profiling. Then again, at the risk of sounding like a total bigot, is that actually such a bad idea? The Muslim Public Affairs Council calls racial profiling unconstitutional. But from where I’m sitting, it is equally unconstitutional to sew explosives into your Calvins to bring a plane down on Christmas Day.
When Richard Reid (a.k.a. “The Shoe Bomber”) was captured, we automatically started checking everyone’s shoes… even old ladies’ with large, unsightly corns. Umar’s bomb was hidden in his underwear, so now what? Will security guards start pulling down our pants? Random wedgies? There’s some fancy detective work for you. Isn’t it easier to identify a certain type of individual that we can all look at cross-eyed? The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is claiming invasion of privacy and rejecting the controversial full body scans. Feel free to check out my ass in order to secure safe passage. How about that recent case in Saudi Arabia where the Al-Qaeda member had an explosive stashed in his anal cavity. What next, proctologists moonlighting for the sake of airport security? Immediately after 9-11, while working with a writer on her promotional book tour, we had to continue the planned nine-city schedule. This involved several plane rides, one of which was to Kentucky, where one of the reported terrorists had lived. Believe me, we were doing our own version of racial profiling aplenty. It was more anecdotal than a serious bid to rid evildoers, but I found much comfort in giving the evil eye to a host of “certain-types”. Was I being politically incorrect? Thank you.
To see the list of things you simply cannot say…
There are expressions that you can no longer say and on the same token things that you have to say…or else! Here is a list of the most important ones, to ensure you stay politically correct in these confusing times:
1. Worldwide no-no is the N-word.
2. People with intellectual disabilities no longer can be called Retarded. Whereas I find it most applicable in the case of Umar, that retarded member of the Lucky Sperm Club who tried blowing up Flight 253 on Christmas Day.
3. African-American, Asian-American, Latino-American, Corporate-American.
4. Child-Obesity is the politically correct term for Fat Kid these days. As an ex-fatty, call me fatso any day over “You obese baboon”.
5. Tranny hookers now must be referred to as Transgender Sex Workers. As a past resident of the Meatpacking District in New York City back in the 1990’s, I can assure you; “tranny hooker” is how they referred to themselves. It was the uber-political correct LGBT Community Center that put that glamorous title onto them and consequently killed their business.
6. Homosexuals became really Gay around the time of the Stonewall Riots in the 1969, birthing the Gay Rights movement. Whereas in England, Fags are the correct term for cigarettes.
7. The women’s equality movement escalated in the 1970’s demanding equal pay for equal work, which also birthed the Bitch in the Workplace.
8. Midgets must now be referred to as Little People, even in the Wonderful Land of Oz and Munchkin Land.
9. Secretaries needed an ego boost and the only option was a title as opposed to a raise, so they settled for Administrative Assistant, which sure beats Mistress.
10. Housewives once they heard that their husband’s secretaries were getting a verbal promotion, quickly jumped on the bandwagon and demanded to be called Domestic Engineers. Those who survive Fucked Up Upbringings, which is most of us, can now say we came from Dysfunctional Families.
11. Someone Crippled became Handicapped, which evolved into Disabled and now is officially Physically Challenged…until that will be simply unacceptable.
Now matter what you say or do, there is always a 50% chance that you will be utterly, terribly and embarrassingly wrong. So, either we just stop talking and communicating altogether or rather, say whatever we want and let the chips fall where they may.

"Films are perpetuating harmful and out-of-date sexual, racial and gender stereotypes, according to the biggest-ever study of its kind into cinema audiences' opinions.
Of 4,315 adults across the UK who were surveyed, a clear majority believe cinema too often falls back on discredited stereotypes, including sexless older women, drug dealing, oversexualised black people and gay people whose lives are dominated by their sexuality.
Almost two-thirds of those questioned believe older women are "significantly underrepresented" in films. They are rarely portrayed as sexual beings and are, generally, only given marginal roles, according to the findings, published exclusively in the Guardian today.
Respondents said film-makers needed to try harder to create films which authentically reflected their lives.
...
"Contrary to what one would expect, older women are increasingly comfortable with the 'cougar' image: they feel it signifies renewed interest and admiration for this age group," said Steve Evans, research director of Harris Interactive and author of the report, pointing to Melissa Leo, who won the supporting-actress Academy Award for her role as a domineering matriarch in The Fighter.
But Ariel Levy, author of Female Chauvinist Pigs, said the structure of films made it "almost impossible" to show nuanced, accurate portrayals of women. "Films are very formulaic and straitjacketed," she said. "Films are fairytales that, unless they have an unusually politically astute and creatively imaginative director, need to fall back on often insulting gender and racial archetypes to generate the energy necessary in the short amount of time they have."
Shirley Conran, author of Superwoman, said she had long given up expecting films to portray older women in anything other than a "grotesque" way. She agreed with Levy that the problem was inherent in the film industry. "They always say there are no good parts for women but there are lots of stories with great female characters. I have written some of them myself, and had them optioned by film companies," she said. "The problem is that the money men won't let those films get made because they underestimate audiences.""Films are perpetuating harmful and out-of-date sexual, racial and gender... more
