The big question that President George W. Bush posed after the 9/11 attacks was “why do they hate us?” followed by his ridiculous answer, “they hate our freedoms.” A new book by BBC correspondent Deepak Tripathi offers a more realistic analysis http://consortiumnews.com/2011/08/23/explaining-why-they-hate-us/The big question that President George W. The Inheritance: The World Obama Confronts and the Challenges to American Power details the world that America faces.
Author David Sanger is considered one of the most trusted correspondence in Washington to whom presidents, secretaries of state, and foreign leaders talk with unusual candor. He takes readers into the White House Situation Room to reveal how Washington penetrated Tehran's nuclear secrets, leading President Bush, in his last year, to secretly step up covert actions in a desperate effort to delay an Iranian bomb. The Inheritance: The World Obama Confronts and the Challenges to American Power... more

I travelled to Qatar in the middle East to work alongside other documentary film makers and explore Transparency International's claim that Qatar is the least corrupt of all Arab nations. What does this mean? what is life like for residents? The Amir now allows parliamentary elections but why is his power unaffected by these supposedly democratic processes? these questions are all explored as well as the issue of where power lies in the nation and what may be in store for it's future.I travelled to Qatar in the middle East to work alongside other documentary film... more

The Iranian government under the direction of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and previous administrations has always been blatantly defiant since the revolution in 1979.
Economic sanctions have the double edged sword of partially cripplingly the government, but usually hurts civilians more - the government can usually sell oil on the black market, but people end up starving.
But despite the civilian plight Iran needs to know they just can't run around building bombs and expect no one to react. The Iranian government under the direction of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and... more

So few liberals have ANY understanding of the depotic genius of neoconservative foreign policy. Militancy for resourse gain is the most historically proven foreign policy, now, yesterday, and tomorrow. If your going to criticize war for oil you best the strange realistic brilliance of the practice. Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Libby, all the historically-aware realists that brought us Iraq II, had it all planned out and saw Sept 11 as the opportunity. So few liberals have ANY understanding of the depotic genius of neoconservative... more
