Santorum: Obama leading Christians to the ‘guillotine’

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum warned on Wednesday that President Barack Obama and other liberals are leading people of faith down a path that ends at the guillotine.

During a campaign event in Plano, Texas, the candidate charged Obama had an “overt hostility to faith.”

“When you look and see what the left is trying to do in America today, progressives are trying to shutter faith, privatize it, push it out of the public square, oppress people of faith, strip their charitable deductions away from them, trying to weaken them, churches — trying to say that anyone who believes in the value of Judeo-Christian principles,” Santorum explained.

“As we saw in the Ninth Circuit just this week, that if you believe that [same sex marriage is wrong] — this is what the court said — that if believe that, if believe what’s taught in Genesis, if you believe what’s practiced Biblically and a generation since then you are irrational. The only possible reason you could believe this, according to the Ninth Circuit, is that you are a bigot and that you are a hater.”

He continued: “They are taking faith and crushing it. Why? When you marginalize faith in America, when you remove the pillar of God-given rights then what’s left is the French Revolution. What’s left is a government that gives you rights. What’s left are no unalienable rights. What’s left is a government that will tell you who you are, what you’ll do and when you’ll do it. What’s left in France became the the guillotine.”

Santorum admitted that the U.S. was “a long way from that,” but if Obama had his way then “we are headed down that road,” citing the Obama administration’s decision to require nearly all private health insurance policies to cover family planning, including female contraceptives.

“Now is the time for America to rise up and say enough!” the GOP hopeful exclaimed.

You ask yourself, just how twisted, indifferent and malevolent can some people get before the universe begins to construct an international gallows franchise everywhere there needs to be one. Each day we see unknown wannabees and the usual suspects, vying and competing to see which of them can be registered and remembered as one of the greatest assholes of our time. They’re looking for immortality in all the wrong places, while imagining its location is a suite at The Plaza, followed by a cameo appearance as an ornate urn in the remake of “The Loved One”.

Sometimes, I sit back and ask myself; where are and who are the good guys? Maybe Ron Paul is a good guy, maybe. We are damn well going to see whether he is now or not because he is in the catbird seat for where his caterwauling has led him. I guess I’d like him better if he didn’t sound like a perpetual member of the Vienna Boy’s Choir, which leads me to Dennis Kucinich, as a logical progression, I think. I begin to think the testosterone shortage is ubiquitous until I get a load of Jessie Ventura. He could be the real deal if he doesn’t turn into a TV personality to the extent he forgets what he came here for.

Alex Jones is not a good guy and neither is Noam Chomsky. I used to think that Chicago prosecutor might be good guy but apparently not. Back in the day, I thought Bill Clinton was a good guy, just to show you what a Holden Caulfield sort of callow youth I was. When he got chummy with George, (Hail Satan!), Bush Senior, I got the message. I mostly think Jimmy Carter is a good guy but everyone stops short of telling it like it is and most of you who read here and at the other fine emporiums of what’s actually going on, know what it’s all short of. I’m not obliquely referring to Kucinich here so, don’t think that. Get it? Never mind, cue Randy Newman.

Presidential Lottery to Replace Elections: May the Best Bet Win

Washington, DC - Americans are betting that they can select a better president by chance than by choice. The presidential elections, which were scheduled for next November, have been replaced by the nation’s first Presidential Lottery.

The new rules are simple. “Voters” can buy as many Presidential Lottery tickets as they can afford. Then on “Election Day.” a random drawing will be conducted, with the holder of the winning ticket named President of the United States.

“We were all set to hold elections as usual, until we saw who was running,” said Roger Flanter, Chancellor of the Electoral College. “The candidates all seem to have memory disorders and learning issues. They shouldn’t be in the White House; they belong at the short end of a Dr. Phil segment.”

The idea of gambling to select the next president ironically came from the financial sector, which bet big on the housing bubble and left the middle class to clean up the mess after it burst.

“Those Wall Street boys really know how to rig a game,” Flanter said. “They work better than loaded dice on a tilted craps table.”

Flanter is making sure his group comes out on top by charging a dollar for each presidential election lottery ticket. “The big corporations, labor unions and other special interests are going to want to buy millions, if not billions of tickets,” he said. “Meanwhile, we’re going to avoid all the expenses connected with conducting an actual national election. You can take that chad and shove it. ”

The changes are reflected in a new name for the US Board of Elections, which is now called the US Bored with Elections. The oversight panel also has a new slogan: “The Presidential Lottery: All you need is a dollar and an unreasonable demand.”

To publicize the new system, the Electoral College is soliciting testimonial endorsements from citizens in all parts of America. Here’s a sampling of the initial results:

-- Mrs. Flory Butterfield in Waco, Texas says she’s going to take Air Force One on a four-year global excursion if she wins the presidency. “I’ll be like Bill Clinton,” she said, “but without the cigar.”

-- Billitt Zacher of Columbus, Ohio plans to reinstate the death penalty on the federal level. “I have a few scores I need to settle,” he said.

-- An L. Blankfein, who works in the busy canyons of lower Manhattan, would “putter around the White House, perhaps fixing little odds and ends. Then I’d order up a massive nuclear missile strike. I want to try out as many ways to destroy a country as I can.”
