guinness are doing a special edition featuring videogame world records. Nintendo shifted 46m copies of that game, which is pretty spectacular whichever way you look at it.
Meanwhile WoW was awarded most popular MMORPG (surprise) and Call of Duty 4 has deservedly earned most played online Video Game.
More importantly though, what's your high score at Wii golf? World record is now -15 if you believe wii-records.com. The way i see it, guinness has completely missed the videogame revolution and is playing belated catchup. These days if you wanna know the record you go to Youtube, because unless you can see them actually get that high score you don't quite believe it, right?guinness are doing a special edition featuring videogame world records. Okhwan Yoon is a man unlike any other. In 2001, he set off from South Korea on a journey to promote world peace. I had the opportunity to meet this amazing man today. I work at a bike shop in Houston and about four o'clock today, he walked his beaten and thoroughly ridden Trek into the store. His ride is sustained by generosity and donations, and his bike hasn't has adequate maintenance in several months, based on my estimation. He and his bike were run under a car somewhere in South America and his frame has incurred massive damage. The tape wrapping his handlebars is weathered and worn. He has been hospitalized six times. He was kidnapped in Sudan and escaped. I'm so inspired by this man's journey that I thought I'd share him with current.com. I traded helmets with him, so if you see his picture in the future, check the skid lid. The Specialized Telluride helmet was once mine.Okhwan Yoon is a man unlike any other. The worldwide anti-poverty mass action that took place last weekend has broken all previous records for coordinated public demonstrations on a single issue, says Guinness World Records, the ultimate authority on evaluating achievements.
Guinness said Wednesday more than 116 million people took part in public gatherings and demonstrations organized by anti-poverty activists in 131 countries across the world, making it "the biggest mobilization ever on a single issue."
Organizers said the mass action on Oct. 17-19, which drew nearly 2 percent of the world's population, sent a clear message to world leaders that people will not stay seated while promises to end poverty remain unfulfilled.
"This is a wonderful statement of global determination and commitment to end the injustice of extreme poverty," said Desmond Tutu, archbishop of Cape Town, adding: "116 million people have stood together to say [that]. This message must be heard by leaders."
The worldwide actions, billed as "Stand Up and Take Action," were jointly organized by two international groups, the Global Call to Action against Poverty (GCAP) and the UN Millennium Campaign.
"The largest Stand Up is truly an historical event and as keepers and adjudicators of world records we are delighted to ratify such an important record and make this official," said Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records.
In a statement, Glenday congratulated "every individual" for taking part in the event and said he welcomed them to the "family of Guinness World Records."
The UN Millennium Campaign's Eveline Herkens said the event shows that, "business as usual cannot go on. Leaders must take note and act now."
The UN Millennium Campaign was established by the former UN chief Kofi Annan in 2002, about two years after world leaders agreed to set the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) -- a series of measures to effectively reduce poverty, illiteracy, diseases, and environmental pollution by 2015.
Like his predecessor, the current UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is urging both the governments of rich and poor countries to do more to achieve all the MDGs and to end extreme poverty by half in the next 7 years in accordance with their pledge.

Belgian Luc Costermans has broken the world blind road speed record, on an airstrip in France.
Mr Costermans topped 308.78km/h (192 mph) while driving a Lamborghini Gallardo supercar at Istres, near Marseille, in southern France.
Mr Costermans thanked his co-pilot Guillaume Roman, saying: ""I'm very, very happy. It's a team effort."
Mr Costermans took the record from Briton Mike Newman, whose BMW M5 reached 268km/h three years ago.
Dedication
Mr Costermans, 43, was blinded in an accident four years ago.
He hit the top speed in two runs in the borrowed car.
He dedicated his effort to the Formula 1 racing driver Philippe Streiff, who has been a tetraplegic since suffering an accident in a Grand Prix in Brazil in 1989.
Two years ago Mr Costermans completed a tour of France piloting a light aeroplane.
He was accompanied by an instructor and a navigator. Belgian Luc Costermans has broken the world blind road speed record, on an airstrip in... more

Trafalgar Square routinely serves as a stage for mimes, jugglers and other acts, but the tourist attraction drew an exceptionally curious crowd Tuesday when the shortest man who can walk met the woman with the longest legs.
He Pingping, of China, was born with a type of dwarfism. He, 20, stands precisely 2 feet 5.37 inches tall.
The pair met to publicize the release of ''Guinness World Records 2009.'' This year's version of the popular book is due out Wednesday.
He called Svetlana Pankratova's legs ''very beautiful.''
Pankratova, 36, who is Russian but lives in Spain, has legs that are nearly 52 inches long, or more than 4 feet long. Her upper body has nearly typical proportions, giving her a giraffe-like appearance.
Dressed in a bright-blue mini-dress and low-heeled pumps, Pankratova, 36, said she liked her legs, though they can complicate things. ''It's hard to find clothes, especially pants,'' she said.
At just over 6-foot-4, Pankratova isn't the tallest woman on record. Sandy Allen, of Shelbyville, Indiana, who died recently, held that title at 7 feet, 7 inches, according to the book. The book said He is the shortest man who can walk.
The latest edition of the book lists pop star Britney Spears as the most-searched person on the Internet and the television show ''Lost'' as the most-downloaded show of all time.
The book has been around for half a century. About 3.5 million copies are sold each year, according to editor-in-chief Craig Glenday.Trafalgar Square routinely serves as a stage for mimes, jugglers and other acts, but... more

This new swimsuit is making waves in the world of olympic swimming. Swimmers wearing the suit have broken 38 of 42 world swimming records. The key to the suit is that there are no sewn seams, instead there's some crazy high tech welding that takes place. Have a read and if anyone fancies making a pod about this please get in touch with me as it would be a great addition to our olympic coverage.

I'd be surprised to learn if there was a bigger man made art project that was not on Earth, say, the dark side of the moon or something, but to be clear, this is the biggest drawing on Earth.
Jim Denevan made the world's largest freehand drawing a few weeks ago on a dry lake in Nevada. It's three miles across, meaning he had to walk around the desert for 8 days to get it done, only for it to be destroyed by a rainstorm just a week later.
This picture is taken from 13,000 feet, and that tiny speck in the middle is the artist. Check the link for some great photos.I'd be surprised to learn if there was a bigger man made art project that was not... more

A 13-year-old boy is claiming the world record for blowing balloons with his nose. Using one nostril at a time, Andrew Dahl inflated 213 balloons within an hour Friday in the town's public library. His feat has been submitted for review by Guinness World Records.
His father, Doug Dahl, measured the balloons to make sure each was at least 20 centimeters, about 8 inches, the minimum diameter, and his mother, Wendy Dahl, kept the tally.
