At least one fire in Orange County is believed to have been intentionally set. And other reports indicate the same for a blaze in Valencia, Ca. So what's the deal, are these just whack jobs or is there a more sinister terrorist plot afoot?
I'm no conspiracy theorist here, but I'm sure others can weigh in on this one...At least one fire in Orange County is believed to have been intentionally set. And... more

I have so many good friends having to evacuate their San Diego homes right now as I write this. I just got off the phone with my BEST friend and I'm getting a little choked up because she also had to evacuate. Southern California is in the same place, almost to the same day, as 4 years ago when fires exploded -- and to think there are people that are still rebuilding from those fires and some of these fires are ripping through the same areas. It's so sad. I was working at the Fox affiliate in San Diego last time this happened and I remember us actually having to tone down the fire facts we had access to because we didn't want to scare people even more. It was a terrible time, those fires went down as one of California's biggest natural disasters and now it looks like it is happening again. The winds are terrible -- and they picked up last night -- everyone is hoping the winds die down tonight but forecasters are predicting that the winds might continue for the rest of this week. Fires have been jumping over freeways -- think how huge that is! The 15 freeway is at least 8 lanes -- very wide -- winds are whipping the sparks and throwing them far and wide. My friends are telling me that the flames are laying down flat because of the wind, trees are bent over, there is a thick haze in the sky and ash is everywhere -- covering houses, coating cars -- there is so much ash that my friends have to keep their home windows closed otherwise it gets all over their house! Eerily reminiscent of 4 years ago. My friends feel like mother nature is mad at us. Very very scary time.

"At least 25 deaths were blamed on an excessive eight-day heatwave in Southern California that finally started to cool on Wednesday.Temperatures in inland and mountainous areas of Los Angeles dropped by about 20 degrees, bringing most places down below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 Celsius) for the first time in a week." --- This might be bad, but when the weather gets all hot and crazy I am super glad I live in the Bay. It just doesn't get that hot here. You never know though, that could all change one day. "At least 25 deaths were blamed on an excessive eight-day heatwave in Southern... more
