IN election years, breakfast is no longer sacred. Upon entrance to any greasy spoon in a hot state everyone submits to the contract that everyone in diners vote and everyone who votes are in diners--maybe it started gaining traction in the 1992 when Bill Clinton frequented the Merrimack Diner smack dab in the center on Manchester on a regular basis--We catch Christina Heller, our resident CJ in Manchester and her associate Craig Goodale before they go back to the Merrimack and other to places they ACTUALLY frequent in real life as people who EAT and VOTE to examine a new study from the New England Journal of Medicine---Candidates at diner = Indigestion

An interesting project that has some ideas that I agree with and some that I am completely against. I have a friend who moved to NH for this cause. Definitely something I think worth mentioning here, if not covering in a pod. I don't like talking politics as it often fades into an Us-vs-Them mentality, but this is an intelligent project that is actually working toward its goals instead of posturing and talking. An interesting project that has some ideas that I agree with and some that I am... more

This is a fascinating story unfolding in New Hampshire about the Browns, a couple who refuse to pay their federal income taxes. The Browns have locked themselves in their home (which, interestingly enough, is an energy efficient, "green" building) and threaten violence to any government agent who breaks in to try to force them to pay. The wikipedia article gives you the whole story, and here is a newspaper article with recent developments in the Brown's case. http://www.concordmonitor.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070917/FRONTPAGE/709170350 New Hampshire residents are divided over their support or lack thereof of the Browns.
