In the summer of 2007, Hofstra University archaeology students, led by Professors Christopher Matthews and Jenna Coplin, dig a site at historic Lloyd Manor on the North Shore of Long Island, New York. Lloyd Manor, built pre-revolution, was the residence of Jupiter Hammon, the first published African American. Jupiter Hammon was one of ten slaves the Lloyd Family owned. The archaeologists are digging what they believe to be the slave quarters to the side of the house. I am starting to put together a pod covering the process behind the program that San Francisco Government TV went through to get the younger population of san francisco to voice their concerns and questions about issues they are facing as individuals and in their neighborhoods.
I wanted to expose some of the questions as well as some of the responses that the candidates for mayor gave.
i think it is a great effort and that more communities should get the younger members involved so they will feel recognized and then vote or feel inclined to stay involved.
