You know “moderate,” “modern” Kuwait–the country whose very ass our country saved in the first Gulf War and which would be part of greater Iraq and Saddamia, had we not gone in to save the Al-Sabah family from being stuck in giant Swiss chalets forever?
Well, it’s not just that they repaid us with expensive oil. It’s that thiis “moderate,” “U.S.-ally” country has grown ever more extreme ever since we liberated it from Saddam Hussein in 1990/1991–repeatedly endorses anti-Semitism and racism against Blacks in its official government-run newspapers and media outlets.
Racist Kuwaiti Cleaning Pads Are Called “Negro”
Take this gem from the Arab Times, which paraphrases an article from Arabic-language Kuwaiti newspaper Alam Al-Yawm. (Alam Al-Yawm claims it’s an independent newspaper, but it’s hardly so. It operates at the discretion of Kuwait’s Emir and the rest of the Al-Sabahs.)
There are about 1,800 Jewish maids working in Kuwaiti households, reports Alam Alyawm daily quoting Interior Ministry sources.
The same sources said these maids are citizens of India, Bangladesh and Ethiopia. The sources also warned such maids practice black magic and may have allegiance to Israel.
They [sic] thoughts and opinions may also constitute a danger to Muslim families – either Kuwaiti or expatriate – and may have an ill effect on our children.
The sources added the origin of most of these maids is believed to be Falasha.
FYI, “Falasha” is a derogatory term for Ethiopian (read: Black) Jews. You know “moderate,” “modern” Kuwait–the country whose very ass our country... more
The extent of the massive waste and abuse surrounding the construction of the monstrous US embassy in Baghdad continues to expand. The State Department has just released another audit of the embassy’s construction and suggests that the Kuwaiti contractor hired by the Bush administration to do most of the construction work may have to repay more than $130 million to US taxpayers as a result of construction deficiencies, incomplete and undocumented design work, inadequate quality control and interest on unauthorized payments.
The Baghdad embassy—the largest of any nation on planet earth and ten times bigger than any other US embassy—is striking evidence indicating a continued US presence in the country for many years to come. The structure cost more than $700 million and is the size of 80 football fields. It is bigger than the Vatican, six times larger than the United Nations compound in New York and is about two thirds the size of the National Mall in Washington. It has space for 1,000 employees who are guarded by scores of paramilitary mercenary forces. In other words it is the perfect structure for a nation that claims to be leaving Iraq very soon.
Among the allegations against First Kuwaiti in the State Department audit are:
The company failed to follow contract specifications when it constructed “safe areas” in the embassy, which are “vital to protecting staff in emergency situations.”
Deficiencies at the embassy’s water treatment plant.
Using nonstandard wiring in the embassy’s power distribution system. The audit charges that First Kuwaiti “substituted a less reliable system.” The audit also says the company should repay $11 million because of the “additional operating costs” resulting from the installation of a “less efficient” system it installed.
Plumbing deficiencies at over 200 locations at the embassy.
The embassy’s fire protection systems are “not compliant with code,” while fire protection water mains were “improperly constructed.”

The U.S. terror war as seen through the eyes of a prisoner
When we first began corresponding with Khalid Awan in 2007, we had no idea why he was serving time in U.S. federal prison. We soon discovered Awan was one of the first of thousands of Muslims taken prisoner in the post-9/11 U.S. “terror war.” As the story began unfolding in our letters, we began to realize that this honest, humble and sincere man was not only innocent, but the ongoing injustice being done to him provides critical insight into the mindless, meanspirited, bureaucratic-yes-men idiocy fueling the illegal U.S. “war on terror” (and just about everything else that is going wrong in this country). At our insistence, Awan wrote his story and supplied us with whatever documents we requested. And now, after three months of cooperative efforts, the story of Khalid Awan can be told. We have come to know Awan as a peaceful man engaged in peaceful work who has been wrongfully accused, detained and repeatedly convicted of crimes he did not commit because he was a Muslim with international connections and an office in New York on 9/11. We present this to you in faith that you will realize a deeper understanding of the levels of complicity necessary for the “land of the free” to tolerate the phony war on terror year after year and in hope that Awan—and all the other million or more political prisoners being held by this country—will one day be reunited with their families.

Kuwait has elected its first female MPs following the oil-rich country's third general election in three years.
US-educated Aseel al-Awadhi and Rola Dashti were among winners in the third district, official results declared.
The 10 leading candidates from each of Kuwait's five electoral districts are elected to the 50-seat parliament.
The emir dissolved the previous parliament in March because it wanted to question his nephew, the prime minister, about alleged corruption.
There are no political parties in Kuwait; the prime minister appoints ministers most of whom are unelected.
"It's a victory for Kuwaiti women and a victory for Kuwaiti democracy," Ms Awadhi told AFP news agency.
"This is a major leap forward," she said. The right to vote and stand for election to Kuwait's parliament, the oldest in the Gulf, was extended to women in 2005.
Former Health Minister Massouma al-Mubarak, who became the first Kuwaiti woman to be appointed to a ministerial post in 2005, and Salwa al-Jassar, have also secured seats in parliament.
Frozen development
Parliamentary pressure to investigate and question ministers on deals has previously seen the cabinet cancelling or delaying multi-billion dollar international projects and social development plans.
During campaigning, anti-government feeling among some candidates has moved to a higher level - two people were arrested for criticising the ability of the ruling al-Sabah family to govern.
They still hold the post of prime minister as well as the key defence, interior and foreign affairs portfolios.
Many voters had complained about the frozen development caused by the political gridlock.
"Men don't have credibility anymore. We're fed up with crises." Ibrahim al-Attar told AP news agency after casting his vote for four female candidates.
One of the first tasks awaiting the new parliament will be to vote on a $5bn stimulus package designed to help the financial sector of the oil-rich state cope with the global economic downturn.Kuwait has elected its first female MPs following the oil-rich country's third general... more
the Spanish National Court’s decision to continue investigating suspected Israeli war criminals is welcomed
The victims and their legal team have placed their trust in the criminal justice system, believing that this is the only mechanism whereby accountability can be pursued and Israel’s impunity combated. Judge Fernando Andreu’s judgment indicates that, even in the face of considerable political pressure – including statements made by the Spanish Foreign Minister Moratinos – this trust in the rule of law is justified. This decision confirms the credibility and independence of the Spanish Courts.

On 22 July 2002, at approximately 11:55 pm, an Israeli Air Force F16 fighter jet dropped a 985 kilogramme bomb on a three-storey apartment building. The attack was intended to kill Salah Shehade, the suspected leader of the Izzidin al-Qassam Brigade, Hamas’ military wing. The apartment building was located within the densely populated Al Daraj district, a residential neighbourhood in Gaza City. At the time of the attack, Shehade was on the upper floor of the building. As a result of the blast impact, eight other adjoining and nearby apartment buildings were completely destroyed, nine were partially destroyed, and another 21 sustained considerable damage. Excluding Shehade and his guard, a total of 14 civilians were killed, including eight children. Approximately 150 civilians were injured.

On page 67 it says that
in 1917 there were about 57,000 jews in Palestine (the year of the Balfour Decleration) whch amounted to 9.7% of the population.
In 1936 there were 384,000 jews in Palestine, amounting to almost 30% of the population - an unprecedented increase in the history of settlement. To the Palestinians, it seemed evident that, while the politicians offered them bland words of reassurance, the immigrants would continue to arrive in ever greater numbers until Palestine was in their hands.
Although the ambiguity which had characterized the public utterances of Zionist spokesmen before the Balfour Declaration persisted, it became steadily easier to read between the lines and detect the purpose: if the Zionists were to be believed, then the Palestinians were right to be fearful. Indeed, as early as 1921 men like Dr. Eder, the acting chairman of the Zionist Commission, had been quite blunt, statinf before a British Commission of Enquiry with a candour which deeply impressed the British that:
There can only be one National Home in Palestine, and that a Jewish one, and no equality in the partnership between jews and Arabs, but a Jewish predominance as soon as the numbers of the race are sufficiently increased.

Its a true world event:

Although there was a lot of promise with the election of the first African-American to the U.S. Presidency, it seems the world may not be as acceptable as we think. Racism is not only a problem that we face internally, it seems the world does not have the open arms to willingly accept President-elect Barack Obama. The Iranian media reared an ugly head of racism as they summed up one of the greatest accomplishments in our country.
The Egyptian daily Al-Qaradhawi stated, "The Democrats Are like a Snake That "Kill[s] You Slowly without You Noticing," according to a translation provided by The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). "The Democrats kill you slowly without you noticing it – and therein lies the danger. They are like a snake whose touch is not felt until its poison enters your body."
The Iranian daily Jomhouri-ye Eslami's editorial was headlined, "That Black Man Will Never Change U.S. Policy." It added, "The most that that black man can do in the White House is to replace some of the staff and change some ceremonial procedures. He will never manage to change the structure of the American regime, which was established by capitalists, Zionists, and racists."
The Saudi Arabian Al-Watan editorialized, "There is no significant difference between Obama and McCain. They disagree only on the means to achieve America's chief goal, which is to rule for another hundred years."Although there was a lot of promise with the election of the first African-American to... more
I say your Athma or Soul or Alma or Atma, whatever you call, that is your heart. The genetic predisposition of the human body is protected and improved by a long term effect of the food you eat, the water you drink and the air you breathe in order to have your athma or soul lives longer with good health. So keep your heart so pure.
If your athma is pure, your mental atmosphere or the state of your mind is working with positive thoughts. That transforms your beliefs into good attitude and good behaviour in the nature.
Your heart electrical system controls all the events that occur when your heart pumps blood. Each beat of your heart is set in motion by an electrical signal from within your heart muscle. In a normal, healthy heart, each beat begins with a signal from the SA node. This is why the SA node is sometimes called your hearts natural pacemaker. Your pulse, or heart rate, is the number of signals the SA node produces per minute.
As soon as you awake up, pray to your athma. So that your prayers are answered in the form of guidance, etc. Your daily tasks are met to your satisfaction.
After I wash my face and brush my teeth, I am partly ready.
After I eliminate my metabolic waste with little strain, my mind is cleaned.
After I take my shower, my body is cleaned.
After I meditate during my shower, my mind is relaxed and calm.
After I eat my balanced meal, I get more energy.
After I walk and do physical activity, I boosted my self image.
When I see the nature and earth's beauty, my mind is refreshed.
When I play with my pets, my brain is relaxed.
After I take away my anger, grudges and hatred, my mind is neutralized.
After I get rid off the negative thoughts, I eliminate my depression.
When I am asleep, I am healed and relaxed. My soul or athma is happy.
When I forgive, appreciate, help and respect others, I boosted my confidence.
When I learn new things daily, I feel secured.
All these boosted my confidence to meet my daily challenges.
Now, I have faith on me and I am happy to meet any failures with no fear.
Now, my heart feels with full of love and peace.
Others will feel this love when they come closer to me.
Success will follow after all.
Then I feel my power of primal energy.
That is my destiny of happiness and rest in peace.I say your Athma or Soul or Alma or Atma, whatever you call, that is your heart. The... more

A Kuwaiti official says authorities abruptly ended a music concert by an Egyptian singer in this conservative Muslim country when a young female fan jumped on stage, hugged the male singer and gave him a kiss.
Qanas al-Adwani, who heads the government department that monitors public entertainment, says the girl's behavior at Friday's concert "defied the conservative traditions" of Kuwait.
Al-Adwani also said Sunday that the fan's behavior broke controls on public entertainment, which were imposed by influential Muslim fundamentalists after they failed in 1997 to ban concerts altogether. Concerts have to be licensed by the government, and monitors from the Information Ministry watch the crowd to make sure nobody stands up to dance.
