Seriously, not kidding. He's got a blog. It's not created by Andy Samberg, either.
This particular post is asking for comments from people around the world. Mahmoud wants to hear from you! There are a range of comments, both positive and negative, with a predictable comment from John Jacobs of the US:
"I hate you. you are retarted. that simple mentally retarted" (sic)Seriously, not kidding. He's got a blog. It's not created by Andy Samberg,... more

That's according to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Looks like he is taking a cue from Jay-Z and Giselle. He suggested that OPEC stop trading oil in US dollars as its steady decline over the last year has affected revenues of OPEC members as they sell their oil exports. That's according to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Looks like he is... more

There appears to be some logic behind Ahmadinejad's ridiculously outlandish statement last month while guest lecturing at Columbia University that "there are no homosexuals in Iran."
They are simply executed.
The state of Iran operates under Sharia law, which is law based upon the Muslim tenets of the Koran, which condemns sex between people of the same sex. It is not legal to be homosexual and you are executed.
Incidentally, since the Koran says nothing about having gender reassignment surgery, it is completely legal under Sharia law in Iran to have a sex change. Tehran has become a capital in the Muslim world for transsexuals to have sex change operations due to this particular loophole in religious thought. There is a compelling documentary called "The Birthday" that explores this issue.
The contradictions inherent in this particular issue bring to light extremely compelling issues of sexuality, religion, law, and how they interpret and define human rights.

But this isn't at a university somewhere in the U.S. Nope, it's at the University of Tehran, where students chanted "death to the dictator", and compared Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to the longtime dictator of Chile, Augusto Pinochet.
Those protesting Ahmadinejad were countered by several staunch supporters of the hardline prez, who called the students hypocrites. But this isn't at a university somewhere in the U.S. Nope, it's at the... more

1. The video is of Al Jazeera's report on Ahmadinejad's lecture at Columbia yesterday. Whatever your thoughts on Ahmadinejad (mine are that he's probably nuts and someone we should keep an eye on), I found Lee Bollinger's introduction of him rude, inappropriate and demeaning. Likewise the jeering students. Not much of a "welcome" for a head of state and makes the U.S. look rude and immature. I actually found myself feeling bad for him.
2. Ahmadinejad will speak at the U.N. today.
3. Iran has released the last of 4 Iranian-American who were detained for 4 months and accused of endangering national security.
