St Andrews Students Occupy Building to Protest Uni's Complicity With Israel
Over 60 students from St. Andrews have occupied Lower College Hall after a petition demanding that the University cut ties with Israeli contractors and institute an aid and scholarship programme was handed to the Principal.
Lukas Ross, the SRC(2) Member for Ethnic Minorities, said this about the occupation, "It’s very important that everyone knows this occupation is to protest the actions of Israeli army, or more generally the actions of the State of Israel and is not in any way anti-Semitic. As a Jew myself I feel that our ethical tradition is incompatible with the Israeli occupation".St Andrews Students Occupy Building to Protest Uni's Complicity With Israel... more

. On the other hand the false Israeli claim that the occupation of Gaza ended in 2005 was frequently repeated, even though access to the strip's land, sea and airspace remain under Israeli control, and the United Nations still recognizes Israel as the occupying power. In accepting the spurious claims of one side over the judgment of the world's pre-eminent multilateral institution, the BBC has already forfeited its impartiality.. Although I wrote many articles, I decided to focus on the untold stories of the war: the brutal massacre of thousands of chickens.
On 5 January, many Israeli tanks, troops and bulldozers advanced into the al-Zeitoun neighborhood south east of Gaza City. In this area, called al-Samouni, Israel killed 49 members of the Samouni family, after soldiers ordered them to gather into a single home, which was shelled several hours later.
A number of chicken farms are located only a few meters away from the Samouni house. These farms came under fire by Israeli forces and were totally bulldozed. Thousands of chickens were caught in their sheds, as the bulldozing destroyed their cages. Some died immediately, others slowly without food or water for four days.
Abu Ahmed al-Sawafari, an owner of a chicken farms owners, was sitting amidst the rubble of his destroyed farm. He explained that "I have been working on that profession for long years. I have been growing my business by all efforts. Israelis came then left causing an earthquake in the area. They have killed these chickens, they are equal to human souls. They were suffocated and died due to hunger. I wonder why the Israelis killed these chickens? Were they firing rockets into Israel?"Although I wrote many articles, I decided to focus on the untold stories of the war:... more

The UN's top relief official has accused Hamas of violating international law by its "reckless and cynical" use of civilian shields, but called for Israelis to be held accountable for violating the principle of proportionality in its bombing of UN facilities in Gaza.
John Holmes, under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator, delivered his assessment during a briefing to the Security Council late Tuesday evening in New York on the work of the UN's Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza. The UN's top relief official has accused Hamas of violating international law by... more

In a humanitarian gesture of goodwill, Today Israel allowed a shipment of food and humanitarian supplies to residents of the Gaza Strip. Israel brought basic food, medicine, petrol and cooking gas, into the Gaza Strip. In addition, five Egyptian trucks containing humanitarian supplies will also be allowed passage into the Strip.
In return, Palestinians gratefully planted bombs in the road and fired 6 Kassam rockets at Israeli civilian cities, a war crime against international law.In a humanitarian gesture of goodwill, Today Israel allowed a shipment of food and... more

Louis René Beres, professor of international law at Purdue University:
"Israel freeng Palestinain Terrorists violates international law in several respects... every state has an obligation to prosecute and punish terrorists. This is codified in many authoritative sources, and is also deducible from the binding Nuremberg Principles (1950). According to Principle 1: 'Any person who commits an act which constitutes a crime under international law is responsible therefore and liable to punishment.' No government has the legal right to free terrorists as a goodwill gesture.
"In capturing and punishing Arab terrorists, Israel acted on behalf of all states. Because some of the terrorists had committed crimes against other states, Israel cannot pardon these offenses against other sovereigns. No state possesses the authority to pardon violations of international law, regardless of what might be permissible under domestic laws. The incoming Obama administration is "closely monitoring" the innovative electric car project being developed by Israel's Better Place company, "and may be adopting it," Idan Ofer, chairman of Better Place, has told The Jerusalem Post.
Heralding a potential private transport revolution, a leading US car manufacturer is also now "putting together a team" to work on the project, Ofer said. Renault-Nissan agreed 18 months ago to build the first cars, and will be mass-producing hundreds of thousands of the electric-powered vehicles by 2010, he noted.
Ofer said the electric car was a natural fit for the Obama presidency as it prepares to grapple with the global financial crisis, environmental concerns, a dependence on oil supplies from unfriendly countries and a collapsing conventional car-building industry.
Better Place, established 14 months ago by entrepreneur Shai Agassi, aims to switch cars worldwide from the pump to the plug, using battery-powered electric vehicles that would recharge at parking meter-style "charging spots," on a grid powered by renewable energy.
Israel, Denmark and Australia are formally committed to the idea. Earlier this month, the Japanese government invited Better Place to work with its local car manufacturers on a first electric car venture. The state of Hawaii signed up to a pilot program last week.
The Renault-Nissan vehicles will cost about the same as conventional cars for now, but will ultimately be cheaper, said Ofer. He said they have comparable acceleration, can reach comparable speeds (of 150 to 180 kph) and can run 150-200 kilometers on a single battery.
Still no word on if Obama will adopt the Palestinian electric donkey. The incoming Obama administration is "closely monitoring" the innovative... more

There have been many stories published concerning alleged shortages in Gaza.
In fact, there is a large _surplus_ of fruit and vegetables intended for markets in Israel, and the vast majority of people here aren't wanting for food.
Reports of children are suffering from malnutrition are exaggerations, says Khaled Abdel Shaafi, director the United Nations Development Program.
"This is not a humanitarian crisis," he said. "It's an economic crisis, a political crisis, but it's not a humanitarian crisis. People aren't starving."...
Rafah, on the border with Egypt, always was regarded as the poorest of Gaza's towns. Not any more. Today, its dusty market is packed with products and with shoppers.
The Associated Press and Guardian also report that many Gazans have become addicted to readily available prescription drugs to help them through difficult times. Is this the same Gaza that has been 'denied' medical supplies? There have been many stories published concerning alleged shortages in Gaza.

When the Jews controlled Gaza it produced 75% of all produce for Israel and exported huge amounts to Europe. Gaza was an amazing agricultural powerhouse.
Since the Arabs took over, they looted all the greenhouses, and destroyed the entire agricultural industry. Gazans have become beggars, and they have themselves to blame.

Palestinians Loot Gaza Strip Greenhouses
(09-13) 13:09 PDT NEVE DEKALIM, Gaza Strip (AP) --
Palestinians looted dozens of greenhouses on Tuesday, walking off with irrigation hoses, water pumps and plastic sheeting in a blow to fledgling efforts to reconstruct the Gaza Strip.
American Jewish donors had bought more than 3,000 greenhouses from Israeli settlers in Gaza for $14 million last month and transferred them to the Palestinian Authority. Former World Bank President James Wolfensohn, who brokered the deal, put up $500,000 of his own cash.
Palestinian police stood by helplessly Tuesday as looters carted off materials from greenhouses in several settlements, and commanders complained they did not have enough manpower to protect the prized assets. In some instances, there was no security and in others, police even joined the looters, witnesses said.
"We need at least another 70 soldiers. This is just a joke," said Taysir Haddad, one of 22 security guards assigned to Neve Dekalim, formerly the largest Jewish settlement in Gaza. "We've tried to stop as many people as we can, but they're like locusts."
Prior to Israel's August withdrawal, the residents of Gaza's Gush Katif slate of Jewish communities ran greenhouses known for producing high-quality insect-free vegetables. The Gush Katif gardens featured some of the most technologically advanced agricultural equipment and accounted for more than $100 million per year in exports to Europe. The greenhouses also supplied Israel with 75 percent of its own produce. When the Jews controlled Gaza it produced 75% of all produce for Israel and exported... more

Article 24: This Organization does not exercise any territorial sovereignty
over the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, [or] on the Gaza
Strip.
-- Palestinian National Charter (the Palestinian Liberation Organization)
It points to a fundamental fallacy in the authenticity of the Palestinian
claims for national self-determination. As can be seen, they explicitly
eschew any claims of sovereignty in the territories of Judea and Samaria
(the "West Bank") and the Gaza Strip, which they openly concede to the
jurisdiction of the Jordanians and the Egyptians respectively.Article 24: This Organization does not exercise any territorial sovereignty

In 1948 at the creation of the State of Israel, Jews from all the Arab countries were forced out or harassed until they left.
The land lost by Jews who fled was estimated by the UN to be worth 10X's that of any property lost by Arabs who fled Israel in 1948. When will they be reimbursed?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Excerpt from an article by Sabri Jiryis, a well known Palestinian Arab researcher in the Institute for Palestinian Studies in Beirut, published in Al-Nahar, Beirut, on May 15, 1975:
"This is hardly the place to describe how the Jews of the Arab States were driven out of the countries in which they lived for hundreds of years, then how they were shamefully deported to Israel after their property had been confiscated or taken over at the lowest possible price.
"It is plain that Israel will air this issue in the course of any serious negotiations that might be undertaken one day in regard to the rights on the Palestinians.
"Israel's claims are these: It may perhaps be the case that we Israelis were the cause of the expulsion of some Palestinians, whose number is estimated at 700,000, from their homes during the 1948 War, and afterwords took over their properties. Against this, since 1948, you Arabs have caused the expulsion of just as many Jews from the Arab States, most of whom settled in Israel after their properties had been taken over in one way or another. Actually, therefore, what happened was only a kind of "population and property exchange," and each party must bear the consequences. Israel is absorbing the Jews of Arab States; the Arab States, for their part, must settle the Palestinians in their own midst and solve their problems. There is no doubt that, at the first serious discussion of the Palestinian problem in an international forum, Israel will put these claims forward."

More Jews were expelled from Arab lands than Arabs were expelled from Israel!
When will the Sephardic Jews get justice, where is the UN, where is Europe, where are all the other so-called progressives, that claim to want justice.
The facts are these. Almost 1 million Jews were expelled in the 1950's from their homes where they had been for thousands of years. They were not allowed to keep any of their land or property.
Imagine the uproar if Israel just expelled _all_ palestinians without moey, houses, or possessions. that's exactly what the arabs did to the jews in the 1950's. Almost a million Jews.In 1948 at the creation of the State of Israel, Jews from all the Arab countries were... more

These pictures illustrate without a doubt that there was massive Jewish and Arab immigration into Israel: The Jewish refugees fleeing religious and ethnic persecution from European and Arab States, and Arabs immigrants from Syria, Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq.
These were not native "Palestinians" as they are called today, rather Arab migrant workers looking for a better standard of living. This story is brought to life in the following pages in over 460 photographs and lithographs of the period.
Yes, the "Palestinians" were Arab migrant farm workers from Syria, Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq, not the fabled "natives". The truth is, from 1880 to 1948, there was a massive increase in Jewish and Arab populations. These pictures illustrate without a doubt that there was massive Jewish and Arab... more

What's the difference between the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Palestinians?
Nothing. They're all made up. Read on.
On March 31, 1977, Muhsin (former head of the PLO's
Military Department and member of its Executive Council) made the following
declaration in an interview with the Dutch daily Trouw:
"There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and
Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons
that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity, because it is in the
interest of the Arabs to encourage a separate Palestinian identity. Yes,
the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical
purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the
continuing battle against Israel."What's the difference between the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and... more

Help All Middle-East Refugees
In 1948, 630,000 Arab refugees left Israel because the Arab leaders (their brothers) urged them to leave while promising them to cleanse Israel of Jewish presence by Jihad.
On the other hand, a close to a *million* Jews were forced to leave the Arab countries in the early days of the re-establishment of the state of Israel. They were forced to leave these Arab countries and also were forced to leave behind their assets of billions of dollars.Help All Middle-East Refugees
