The Daily Mantra loves Tees For Changes collection of shirts bearing positive messages such as Stay Strong, Laugh Often, Chase Dreams, Seek Balance, and Choose Happiness. The first one I did said, Be Courageous. That was the one I wore throughout my pregnancy, says company founder Andreea Ayers. I felt so strong and more positive every time I would think of the phrase.
The Colorado mother found the inspiration for her shirts while pregnant. She had always wanted to give birth naturally, but was surrounded by negative thoughts when she spoke about it to those around her. "What if something goes wrong?" was all I heard throughout my pregnancy, says Ayers, who would respond by saying, "What if everything goes right?" Ayers decided to turn the situation on its head by wearing shirts with messages that would remind her to think positively every time she was confronted by such negativity. I was able to change my negative thoughts into positive ones just by wearing the shirts I had made, says Ayers. Her company was born after her son Nathan in the spring of this year.
The shirts are made in sweatshop free conditions from 100% organic cotton, or a blend of 70% bamboo / 30% organic cotton. Theyre colored with eco-friendly dyes and are screenprinted with non-toxic water-based inks. Whats more, the company will make a donation to American Forests' Global Releaf so the organization can plant a tree for each shirt sold at retail price, making this truly life-affirming apparel.

Would you trade your car for a bike? Would you live a year of your life with out driving a car just to prove it could be done? Some people are. Plus they get to spend more time outdoors and stop wasting money and polluting the environment driving their inefficient cars. It's a simple concept but could be a revolutionary one, just go ride a bike.Would you trade your car for a bike? Would you live a year of your life with out... more

Face it, we should all agree that we need to take better care of this planet. Whether you believe in Global Warming and protecting the environment or not, (I happen to) isn't it a good idea to remember what Woodsy the Owl once taught us and "Give a HOOT, DON'T pollute?" Yes, I know that Global Warming is a passionate topic and many people have strong arguements on both sides of this debate. Still, it seems strange to me that we can't meet in the middle and realize that someday me, you, and yes, even you, will die and this planet will be enjoyed (hopefully) by many more generations to come. Isn't it polite to take care of what you borrow and to make sure to return that which you borrowed in the best condition possible? Fill me in here on why this topic always has to get so heated and so political? I know, I'm naive-- perhaps I'm looking at this too simply. Face it, we should all agree that we need to take better care of this planet. Whether... more

If you are Mr. Al Gore, then you move on with class after losing Florida and spend the following seven years doing the following: grow a beard, bring much needed awarness to global warming to the entire world, win an academy award for a brilliant documentary, win an emmy for an award winning television concept and get the Nobel Peace Prize. There is nothing finer that to see a man that legally won the 2000 Presidential elections making a well crafted effort to do something in America that no President has ever been able to achieve. Good work, Mr. Gore.If you are Mr. Al Gore, then you move on with class after losing Florida and spend the... more

It is absolutely fascinating, not to mention inspiring, to see a group of people that care so much about their profession. Especially in the Western world, as we view garbage collectors as a low-intellect job.
Could you imagine if we had these motivated and hard-working 60,000 sorting through the trash in New York City every day? How much would we save? How would this group change the impact of our wasteful daily lives?
I hope they find a way to remain relevant in Egypt and to ensure the continued recycling there. I especially love it when the woman tells them to stop going through the recycling bins - they are so excited about the town, talking about how hard they would work if they were there. Imagine...
