I support the legalization, cultivation, responsible use, and taxation of marijuana, and what's happening in this small California town is indicative of the need for rational laws. Marijuana can harm young people's physiological, social, and emotional well-being, and children below age 18 should be prohibited from using it. It can delay social maturity, harm the pulmonary system, and provoke harmful side effects in some individuals.
That being said, the current legal situation promotes the kinds of behavior and disruption that are occurring in Hayfork, California, and we must stop treating marijuana as if it were some sort of religious taboo and, instead, develop a new, responsible approach.
Marijuana must be treated as a valuable, potentially-dangerous substance which should be made available for therapeutic use and for thoughtful recreational use as well. Keeping it in people's back yards is a recipe for trouble.,0,6540031.story

Air pollution has many sources. Some air pollution comes from local sources like cars, power plants, industry, or nearby fires. Local and regional laws limit this type of pollution as much as possible to keep air quality at healthy levels. But, says environmental engineer Jim Szykman in a new EarthSky podcast, satellites have shown that the haze that hangs in the skies over your house might not be from the local power plant: much of it might be from the next city, state, or from across the country or even the world. Pollution travels.
These images provide a case in point. Air quality plummeted to unhealthy levels in southwest Oregon on September 25, 2009. Choking smoke (gray-brown in the photo-like image) from large, lightning-ignited fires in the Cascade Mountains filled the skies. That nearby communities should experience poor air quality was to be expected, but the smoke affected air quality hundreds of kilometers away as well.Air pollution has many sources. "I used to dread the rain when I lived in London. But in a town like L.A. where you rarely get a season change, you kinda embrace the moment. The only problem is, unlike the famously written pavement sign in this photo, neither of us looked right after that day."
If only teleportation and time-travel were real. You could go back and fix mistakes. You could re-live moments. But the sad fact is that you have to accept reality and often times it’s heartbreaking no matter how hard you try to alter it. This is about a girl and guy who try and make a place something it’s not and in the end it breaks both of their hearts. It Begins:

Click link to view my photo album. I have been going to the Smokey Mountains since I was a child. I have always loved being in the woods, but going to the Smokies is always so much better than just going into the woods. The waters flowing with such force, the trees so much larger than just going into the woods. I always end up seeing some kind of an animal whether it be a deer or a bear, or a wolf, On my last visit on 09-10-2009 at the end of the day while travelling out of the park, a white wolf, true story, crossed in front of our car and slowly made his way down of the edge of the road and down the embankment. I have put together several photos of my trip that day and I am going to share them with everyone because I want you to enjoy these most interesting sites as much as I did.
Please look for all of my coverage on The Great Smokey Mountain National Park.

Speaking of Green! I just love the idea of going green - living totally off the grid! My wife and I are trying all we can but, wells, windmills and solar panels are still brutally expensive to most of us. So what about the Original Green.
Marijuana cures most illnesses (I've ever had) and just because it was deemed illegal (by our forefathers -who incidentially overthrew the ban on alcohol) or immoral (the Bible says GOD grew it and EVERYTHING GOD made is Good!) (granted rattlesnake venom is good for other things) this dosen't mean marijuana is BAD. Clearly we have been duped by the holier-than-thous who have not benefited from this freely growing resource.
(Weren't George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both Marijuana Farmers?!?)
What is this country coming to when it's o.k. to watch the Gov. of Calif on many shows machine gunning his way through Gods children without prejudice, your 8 y/o daughter can easily brouse up a couple eating each other's scat (feces) but you cannot light up something that freely grows in your side yard.
The Trillion dollar medical drug industry dosen't want it to be legal for you to be able to cure yourself at home of : well you fill in the blank . . .
Well, I'm just sayin . . . nobody listens to me anyway
God Bless,

I'm coming out of my "Green Closet"! The ongoing debate in California has brought out a lot of people that have been silent for a long time about scrounging around for their medicine!
I am so sick of the people that sit back on their pious asses and hold "court" over MY PAIN! Pain and the relief thereof is subjective! In this case the subject is ME! I am the subject, MY pain! Even if YOU are not CONVINCED that it helps MY PAIN, as long as I am, who are YOU to say it doesn't?
I can walk into any doctor anywhere in any town and get a HANDFUL of NARCOTICS in just a few minutes! Enough to kill me 6x over, they do help with Some of my problems, but the side effects are devastating and leave me unable to function in any NORMAL capacity. The MJ does help take enough of the edge off the pain and nerve action (spasms) that I can function and still get on with life! So, even if YOU believe it is not viable for medical purposes, if it helps me (I do not care if you think it is a PLACEBO) then that should be MY opinion and choice! BTW, I suffered a devastating spinal cord injury that has left me with lifelong, debilitating nerve damage with spasms, pain and partial loss of function on one side of my body!
I had someone say to me that this beneficial effect was all in "my mind", that it didn't really relieve anything. Okay, it's all in MY mind - if I have traded in my handful of "goodies" for a few hits of pot, and it works for me, why does it bother you? Seriously, do you think I would be better off to just continue taking all of my prescriptions like Norco, Valium, Neurontin, Zoloft, Ambien and Flexeril in doses guaranteed to stop me from even crawling out of bed? Besides the physiological ramifications, they also happen to leave me unable to talk straight, drive, cook, shop or any other task requiring a brain or motor skills!
Maybe your right, maybe it won't "take away" my ailments...but I don't seem to care nearly as much! Oh, wait, am I admitting that I ENJOY consuming my medication? I guess so, wow, isn't that a shame? I have to pass on alcohol because it causes me to become violently ill most of the time. Do you think that alcohol is NOT a social "medication"? So yup, I admit it, I like big buds! I rarely use any of the above mentioned drugs, even though I have full bottles in my cabinet and could get pretty much any others from a DR at the drop of a hat! I would rather take a couple of tokes, drink some tea or whatever form of Cannabis "relieves" my symptoms, oh, and I can still get out of bed, hold a conversation above a second grade level and do a little living too!

A number of iPods burst into flames and smoke and Apple (AAPL) tried to cover-up the incidents, KIRO 7 News reports.
When customers contacted Seattle-based KIRO 7 about getting burned by their iPods, reporter Amy Clancy tried to access documents concerning Apple's iPods from Consumer Product Safety Commission.
But Apple's lawyers tried to stop that from happening, she says.
She finally got access to the documents, which revealed 15 burn and fire incidents related to iPods

The innocent and angelic child is blameless. With the exception of a small number of people that take this as a form of entertainment, most people vehemently condemn the adults in this child’s life.
