Susan Lucci was All My Children.
On January 5, 1970, All My Children premiered while I was at home, sick with the flu from grade school. (Yes, that makes me 200 years old, but that is not the point here.) In my groggy state, I heard the All My Children Theme Song which jostled me awake, and there was Erica Kane. Though I was feeling better the next day, I exaggerated my cough and sniffle so I could stay home to catch more of Erica’s shenanigans. I continued with my charade and by the end of the week my mother was getting worried and took me to the doctor. Fortunately, he diagnosed me with a slight case of pneumonia. (Mind over matter.) Yippee, All My Children here I come, which got me to thinking as to what situation I preferred:
1. To be terminally ill, without the terminal part, or
2. To be a housewife.
How lucky were these ladies to have the legal tender to stay home and watch soap operas? Though I was a staunch supporter of the women’s movement, I could never quite understand why women did not want to enjoy the fruits of their labor. They got to have kids, lay around the house, brats off to school while the hubby is out busting his ass to pay all the bills. There is an expression, “Be careful what you wish for”. Women wanted equality in the workplace? Are you happy now? I would have not have traded in one iota of soap opera viewing for work, period. Give me a zip-up housecoat with tissues in my big front pockets any day. I stretched my psychosomatic illness for two full weeks and became hooked on All My Children. There is much more to this story once I had to resume my class schedule, which includes cutting classes in order to keep up with Erica as well as breaking and entering into my own house. It will be in the book but until then, I am sad to see that Susan Lucci will soon be unemployed.

Burn Notice is one of my favorite shows. Spies, comedy, romance, suspense, shoot 'em ups, and, of course, Mr. Bruce Campbell (in case you haven't noticed, I love me some Bruce). I have taken it upon myself to find Fiona's wardrobe. Obviously, I don't have the budget USA has or access to their wardrobe department, but I do have access to the Forever 21 website. So there.

What's the point of being a social media goddess if none of your many thousands of "friends" will step up to the plate and lend you a hand when you ask? It's a question I've been asking myself ever since I put out a call for assistance on a romantic matter. Did anyone offer their help? Heck no! I mean, what's a girl gotta do to get a date around here?

It's been a while since we've made a significant update to our TV Schedule on Current.com. Our previous version of the schedule focused on what is airing right now. We collected feedback and are proud to present the latest version of the Current TV Schedule.
The brand new Current TV Schedule page on Current.com
Some highlights:
Our featured timeslots let you know what is coming up next from our franchise shows. For example: Tonight at 10/9c Vanguard correspondent Adam Yamaguchi walks you through a sneak peek of the upcoming fall season. It's all NEW!
The list view let's you see what is on Current, one day at a time. When you land on the new schedule, the grid will automagically jump to what is on Current TV right now. In addition, you can scroll back to see what you missed, or jump ahead through the next six days to find out what is coming up.
There are still a few more things we plan to roll out in our next release (scheduled for Wednesday). Here's the list:
Grid view: This will let you look at an entire week's worth of Current TV scheduling in one go. For those of you who like to plan out your week, this will be the way to go.
List view time zones: We squashed a bug from the previous release that left out time zones on the list view. Those will make their triumphant return.
Homepage schedule: Our new schedule page is nice, but sometimes you'll want to know what's coming up on Current TV from the comfort of the Current.com homepage. With this new feature, that problem is solved.
What do you think of the new schedule? Do you have feedback or recommendations? Leave us a comment or make some suggestions on our Get Satisfaction page for the new TV Schedule. It's been a while since we've made a significant update to our TV Schedule... more

'Caprica,' a prequel to 'Battlestar Galactica,' is a family drama that deals with the ethical issues of artificial intelligence
Science fiction's foundations are built on the premise of noble scientists creating fabulous technologies for the betterment of mankind.
"Caprica," the new science-fiction drama from the creators of "Battlestar Galactica," differs from that idea.
"It's about how groundbreaking technology often has an engine -- personal motive -- that's built on not so high-minded principles, like greed and envy," said "Caprica" executive producer David Eick, from Los Angeles.
The series kicks off at 9 p.m. Friday on SyFy.
Eick described "Caprica" as a science-fiction drama and family saga that explores the morality of artificial intelligence. The show is from the same creative team that was behind "Battlestar Galactica," which critics hailed as one of the best science-fiction series television has ever offered. "Battlestar" ended its run on SyFy last year.
The new series takes place 58 years before the robotic Cylon race's attack on the Twelve Colonies in an attempt to exterminate its humans creators. The saga of a ragtag fleet of human survivors fleeing the Cylons and searching for a haven was at the center of "Battlestar

this seems to be a central site for the new ARG -- an art gallery of ARG sites, with art work...
interesting that the first piece is Hurley, and the work centers around the puzzles that have surrounded Hurley throughout the series. off topic: do you think we'll see Libby again this season?
anyways, here is the first piece: http://current.com/1uetm4c
and what is with that "hub" crate? it leads to a page full of "hints" -- the first of which pointed to a fan appreciation party responsible for revealing the ACTUALLYITSKETCHUP.COM site.

In news that seems like a rewind from April, HBO is developing a half-hour comedy about an older woman who's a former feminist icon. This one comes from Buffy The Vampire Slayer scribe Marti Noxon and will star Diane Keaton.
Back in April, word was that the network was working on a show called Women's Studies, about a "former feminist It girl" (consider the question: does feminism have It girls?) who's now a women's studies professor. This new one is about a "feminist icon" who decides to "reignite the movement by starting a sexually explicit magazine for women." The other show was to come from Daily Show/Colbert Report producer Ben Karlin and star Julie White.
It's hard to imagine HBO going forward with both of these shows given their similarities, but interesting to see them working on two projects about aging feminists in a period of a little over three months. (One would hope the Noxon/Keaton show will be a little fresher than some of the comments from Noxon about the role of leg hair in feminist theory and how women have become "more sexual" since the Kinsey report in 1953; it's much too early for genuine concern.)
HBO may have believed it was winding up behind the curve of female-led comedy, given that it doesn't really have anything right now that would compete with, say, Weeds on Showtime. But either way, chalk up another film actress finding her way to a regular job heading up a TV show.In news that seems like a rewind from April, HBO is developing a half-hour comedy... more
