The Black Eyed Peas will be the sole musical guest on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Of course, that’s why I’ll be watching. And I used to read Playboy for the articles. The show will feature top supermodels wearing scanty lingerie, but I’m there for the music, man.
In addition to a great deal of flesh, a $3 million Harlequin Fantasy Bra will also be on display.
Frankly, though that doesn’t interest me. I’ll consider myself lucky if I have a chance to hear will.i.am pontificate along the lines of: “We are in the middle of a really defining time right now. It’s the end of the traditional era of how we experience music and media.”
To which I can only add: huh?

The Black Eyed Peas will release "The E.N.D.," their first studio album in four years, on June 9.
The group originally had hoped to release the set, which stands for "The Energy Never Dies," in March. The band plans an international tour in support of the Interscope release.
Black Eyed Peas principal will.i.am previously told Billboard he hopes the album will continue to evolve even after it is released. "When (the album) comes out, there'll be 12 songs on it, but the next day there could be 100 songs, 50 sketches, 1,000 blogs all (online) around 'The End,' so the energy really, truly never dies," he said. The Black Eyed Peas will release "The E.N.D.," their first studio album in... more

Witnessed by an elated, celebratory crowd of more than a million admirers, Barack Hussein Obama marked his place in history as America's first African-American president. President Obama called for a disheartened country to unite in hope against the "gathering clouds and raging storms" of war and economic woe. It was a ceremonial event watched in fascination by many millions, perhaps even billions of people, around the world.
In his Inaugural Address, President Obama remarked that, "We gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.” But he stated that in our present discouraging economic and political climate, “What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility, a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly....This is the price and the promise of citizenship."
This article includes a number of wonderful photographs and four videos (including President Obama's Inauguration Address). In addition, it presents an amazing photo-gallery, with images that produce a historic photographic-document of Barack Obama's entire presidential campaign.Witnessed by an elated, celebratory crowd of more than a million admirers, Barack... more
The sheer presence of Barack Obama's revolutionary journey to the White House sparked a tidal wave of tributes and anthems recorded by hip-hop artists everywhere. Some were good, others were great, a lot sucked, and the controversial ones weren't so lucky.
Rapper-producer will.i.am could have composed a generic melody, put it over an uplifting beat, laid down a few verses, titled it "My President is Black," and sent it to the thousands of urban blogs for immediate distribution. Instead, the Black Eyed Peas-member took the road less traveled and made his Obama-inspired songs a musical movement that will be remembered forever.
Beginning with "Yes We Can" shortly followed by "We Are the Ones," will.i.am expanded his arms to reach celebrities outside the hip-hop circuit for powerful messages that exemplified unification and hope. Not long after Obama was officially announced the winner of the 2008 Presidential Election, will was the first to announce that it truly was a new day.
The seconds are ticking away until Obama is sworn in as the next President of the United States and to celebrate this historic event, will.i.am recorded yet another political song - this time dedicated to America. "America's Song" features four of this generation's most influential musicians - Faith Hill, Seal, Bono, and Mary J. Blige - and shines as a "new American anthem for this day and age." will.i.am premiered and performed the track today on Oprah with three of the four contributors present.
Isn't America beautiful? Yes it is. Yes. It. Is.

It's also Martin Luther King day, and Aretha Franklin is paying tribute to at the Kennedy center. On the eve of Election Day, it seemed as if an endless list of Hip Hop artists added their name to the list of Barack Obama supporters. However, it was the much-maligned emcee/producer will.i.am who was one of the earliest and most influential backers of the Illinois senator who would eventually win the presidency. After generating millions of views in and outside of the Hip Hop community for his viral videos supporting Obama, will.i.am reflected on the process with Tavis Smiley of PBS.
"That 'Yes We Can' speech really made me look at my own life," will.i.am recounted. "I was born and raised in East Los Angeles--the only black family in a neighborhood where everybody else was Mexican. I had a great, great childhood. My mom saw the importance of sending me to school in Palisades...at one point in time people fought for inner-city kids to go to school in the suburbs. When I saw that speech, I thought of all the blessings I had and how school was a differentiating factor for me and my neighbors."
The Black Eyed Peas founder also shied away from credit for the momentum his initial "Yes We Can" concept created. Even though his group has been part of massive marketing campaigns by Interscope Records and other corporations, will gave credit to a somewhat unlikely source.
"I was able to engage Americans and people in other countries by making a piece of content that inspired people to pass it around like a baton," will added. "You pay attention to the pulse of what's happening in the world, make content that relates to what's going on and you don't have to pay for anything other than believing someone's gonna pass that message on. Eight years ago, we didn't have the tools that we have today. We didn't have Google or YouTube in the way we have today. When people were protesting at [Bush's] inauguration, the news didn't show us those moments. It's a day that everyone is truly connected and intertwined with technology."
