Scientists working for the world's largest chocolatier, Barry Callebaut, have developed 'the perfect chocolate' - it has 90% fewer calories than regular chocolate and will only melt in temperatures above 55C.
Simon Cantz, one of the food engineers, said it was all a big mistake: 'Suddenly we realised we'd produced a very special chocolate, of a crispy light consistency, like an airy foam, and we thought let's see if we can develop this further'.
The chocolate is called Vulcano 'because it can be eaten when it's hot, and it's airy and full of bubbles like molten rock.'
A spokesman for Barry Callebaut added: 'It's nice and chocolatey, with a strong aroma, and crispy rather than creamy. It does melt in the mouth, but it is the enzymes in the saliva rather than the heat of the tongue that causes it to dissolve.'
They expect Vulcano to be on shop shelves within two years.Scientists working for the world's largest chocolatier, Barry Callebaut, have... more

Gabrielle Reece wrote about the benefits of doing a yearly cleanse, in particular, she practices the Master Cleanse method. She explained,
“I go on a soft food only diet for about 2 or 3 days: overly steamed veggies, sweet potatoes and soup broths. Then for five or six days I drink a series of juices: watermelon and lime for energy in the morning; lemon, cayenne pepper, water, and maple syrup to curb my appetite (this is the Master Cleanse drink); cucumber and strawberry for inflammation; and finally, a pineapple juice. All are made fresh and are full of fiber.”
Gabrielle goes on to explain that she does loose a few pounds but she actually sees many other benefits that outweigh the weight loss. She wrote,Gabrielle Reece wrote about the benefits of doing a yearly cleanse, in particular, she... more

We do it for the bDr. David Kessler, 58, says that when he looks at a huge plate of French fries, he knows that if he starts eating them, he won't stop until he's wolfed them all down. Yes, even the former head of the Food and Drug Administration, who once oversaw the nation's health, struggles to eat well like the rest of us.
We do it for the buzz. Like drug addicts. How do we stop the constant craving?
In his new best-selling book, "The End of Overeating: Taking Control of the Insatiable American Appetite," Kessler, a San Francisco Bay Area pediatrician, explains why certain foods loaded with fat, sugar and salt exert such a pull, despite our best intentions to avoid them. As he discusses the biology that leads to scarfing down a plate of fries, he delves into such puzzles as why the French fry binger is more likely to remember the pleasant stimulation of the fries' salt, fat, texture and flavor than the stomachache and self-recrimination that follow it.
The former dean of medical schools at Yale and the University of California, San Francisco, Kessler, who is also a lawyer, contends that the American food culture, including our mores about when, where and how often we eat, plays a large role in fostering what he calls "conditioned hypereating." He argues that the government, food industry and individual diner all have parts to play in combating that plate of fries. While Kessler is not offering a weight-loss solution or proposing some chimerical healthy eating plan, his book strips away the allure of some of the most appetizing and unhealthy foods. I spoke with Dr. Kessler about why so many of us can't eat just one.uzz. Like drug addicts. PETA knows that sex sells, and they used it to promote vegetarianism in Europe. So they put a call out for photos of sex people who've given up eating meat. Incredibly (though doubtfully) all of the entrants said that their main reason for their self-imposed diet restrictions wasn't for their health, it was because they didn't support animal cruelty. ORLY? And by that logic it follows that anyone who eats meat supports cruelty towards animals.
Anyways, that's the winner of the female veg category in the photo. You can see the guy winner and read all about their rejection of meat and love of furry animals here:

'All about incorporating small changes into my daily diet, or what I called the no-diet plan. I always follow the common sense Don’ts -- like limiting the amount of bad foods in the house (less likely that you will eat those foods); another biggie is eating before going to a social events (if you're not starving it's so much easier to control those bad habits).
Here's a list of other helpful tips I've collected to ease into making it a lifestyle change (add your own by leaving me a comment) --
Add Fiber
The body digests protein and fiber slowly, making you feel fuller longer. Try mixing high-fiber cereals into other foods, salads, chicken or my fav -- yogurt.
Use the '80:20'
Instead of starving yourself -- try eating healthy 80 percent of the time. That means you can "blow" one meal a week (if you have to).'All about incorporating small changes into my daily diet, or what I called the... more
