Social networks are getting more creative as new sites come up with unique angles to connect people (and get attention). I took a look at two fun new services that you might like, especially if you're sick of Twitter and Facebook! Enjoy:
Here's my full story on Current Tech, with links.
By the way, I should point out that both Twitter and Facebook are evolving as social networks, too. Here's my tutorial on how Facebook's new tagging feature works, and a recent video on all the apps you can try to make Twitter more useful. I'm an equal opportunity social networker! Or something.

In the absence of much mass media exposure, Web 2.0 once again rode in to save the day for the people struggling for freedom in Iran. Thursday July 9th marked the 10th anniversary of the 18th of Tir protests, an anti-government demonstration that ended in violence and many casualties. What was to be a day of remembrance was used as a reason for protestors to take back to the streets and express their opposition to the June 12th election. I saw a story on the news recently about how a child's posts on facebook fgot their parents in trouble at their jobs. I personally think that these employers have their priorities substantially skewed. Sites like facebook and myspace are meant for entertainment purposes only, no different from a neighborhood bar or nightclub. Social Networking sites are not regulated by the government nor are they used as sources of official government information like a criminal record database or credit reporting agency. The fact that some companies are using recreational entertainment venues as official sources of employee information is appalling. Why don't we look at old high school photos from 20 years ago when the hiring manager was playing in a college band and drinking and smoking pot, facebook is no different. I personally think that any company that judges the content of an entertainment venue as hard fact is not worth working for in the first place. They should keep their focus on the candidate's professional qualifications and governmental records like criminal records not focus on what the candidate does for entertainmentI saw a story on the news recently about how a child's posts on facebook fgot... more

Memphis, TN October 15, 2007Kutros mission is two fold, however the first primary objective is to provide borrowers the tools and a platform to assist in leveling the playing field as well as managing the loan information and decision making process before the loan documents are signed.
Kutro brings together several important elements to help facilitate the loan process:
Borrowers can Rate the performance level and quality of service of brokers, Compare loan cost and fees, Share loan experiences and Communicate loan experiences with other borrowers. This innovative approach should create a new open, fair and enhanced working relationship with mortgage brokers and loan officers that will culminate into a win-win outcome for all parties concerned.
Mortgage brokers and loan officers should encourage their clients to use Kutro as a rating service and to track their (BSI) Borrowers Satisfaction Index. This will insure credibility, integrity and a reliable benchmark where by all brokers can be evaluated. Naturally, the loan market place will reward those brokers with the best ratings. Mortgage brokers should consider using their earned rating status in their own marketing campaign. Once again this is a win-win for brokers. Best practice standards should be the goal that all brokers and loan officers strive for. Brokers should invite borrowers to share and communicate suitability and affordability concerns in the online community this can be an unbiased source of information to help in the decision making process.
