The opening of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Bahrain has been called off following recent unrest in the country.
The decision to call of the Bahrain leg of the F1 calender was due to the recent violent protests which claimed 10 people and counting. This could cost $600m in revenue, according to one source while one newspaper claims that it would cost up to $60m for the race organisers, even though the racecourse recently have a revamp. The Formula 1 Grand Prix will now open in Melbourne in Australia on the 27th March.

MISANO ADRIATICO, Italy — Motorcycle racing endured its second tragedy in eight days Sunday, this time at the San Marino Grand Prix.
Shoya Tomizawa became the second teenage rider to die in the sport when the 19-year-old fell and was hit by two trailing riders during the Moto2 race.

(AP) INDIANAPOLIS — IndyCar driver Mike Conway was flown to an Indianapolis hospital for evaluation following a horrific crash at the end of the Indy 500.
Conway was battling Ryan Hunter-Reay for position between turns three and four when the two collided. The 26-year-old Englishman’s No. 24 car flew up into the catch fence then fell back toward the track, nearly taking out defending champion Helio Castroneves.
