Terminator Salvation delivers.
It is heart-pounding, non-stop action that, at its conclusion, leaves you physically drained. It is in fact one of the better films in the series, principally because McG (Charlie’s Angels) clearly knows how to McDirect for maximum thrills.
I know, you’re waiting for the but. There are no buts, although, frankly, some butts could have done a better job. It stars Christian Bale, a man rivaled as an actor only by Keanu Reeves.

In a Blackbook interview, Mary Harron the unlikely source of Christan Bale's take on a yuppie serial killer in American Psycho:
It was definitely a process. We talked a lot, but he was in L.A. and I was in New York. We didn’t actually meet in person a lot, just talked on the phone. We talked about how Martian-like Patrick Bateman was, how he was looking at the world like somebody from another planet, watching what people did and trying to work out the right way to behave. And then one day he called me and he had been watching Tom Cruise on David Letterman, and he just had this very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes, and he was really taken with this energy. In a Blackbook interview, Mary Harron the unlikely source of Christan Bale's take... more
When you look at your reflection in your business card holder, I know you want to see a "killer" but not a Christian Bale/Patrick Bateman kind of killer. Not a PSYCHO. You want to see a killer of a person. An ace of a guy or gal. Not someone's pain in the ass. Disperse them carefully. Don't become that person whose card lies at the bottom of a purse where in a year's time a woman, when cleaning it out says, "Who the hell is this?" and trashes it. According to the internet movie database (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1345836/), Christian Bale is working on an 'untitled Batman project' which is apparently due in 2011. I trawled the internet for any info i could find on this and didn't find much apart from the poster showing the Riddler, and also an interview with Gary Oldman saying that the Riddler is likely to be the next villain and that the whole film will be shot in IMAX.
More info to follow when i break into Christopher Nolan's office...

It sounded bad when they filed the lawsuit recently...
"The producers of "Terminator Salvation" have filed for bankruptcy and their list of creditors is a veritable "who's who" of Hollywood.
Just a day after the duo sued their investors for allegedly pushing them into a series of bad business decisions and placing what they claim is an illegal lien on their property, three companies belonging to Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek, owners of the "Terminator" franchise rights and the producers of May's "Terminator Salvation," filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Tuesday.
Even though the movie has sold a healthy $370 million worth of tickets around the world and has yet to be released on DVD and in other post-theatrical markets, Anderson and Kubicek apparently couldn't stay afloat. As detailed in yesterday's lawsuits, they don't have the assets to pay back one of several loans made by Santa Barbara hedge fund Pacificor, which financed their $30-million purchase of the "Terminator" rights and loaned $9 million for other operating expenses.
Anderson and Kubicek have had several legal disputes with former business associates in their short careers as film producers, as reported by the Times in May.
The list of creditors for Anderson and Kubicek's three companies -- T Asset Acquisition Company, Dominion Group and Halcyon Holding Group -- includes four major studios and several big names involved in "Salvation," including star Christian Bale and director McG. Even California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose face is briefly seen near the end of the movie, is on the list...."It sounded bad when they filed the lawsuit recently...

ComingSoon.net has issued photos of a built Mark Wahlberg, a skinny Christian Bale and former junior welterweight "Irish" Mickey Ward shooting The Fighter at Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Massachusetts.
The Paramount film, co-starring Amy Adams and Melissa Leo, is about Ward and his unlikely path to become world lightweight champion. Christian Bale plays Dicky Eklund, Mickey's half-brother and a talented fighter who once went the distance with Sugar Ray Leonard in a title fight, then turned to crime and landed in prison. He then turned his life around and helped his under-performing brother find the spark for a remarkable run that led to the world title.ComingSoon.net has issued photos of a built Mark Wahlberg, a skinny Christian Bale and... more

Universal seems to be keeping Public Enemies very closer to their chest. We've seen a few trailers, but not that many TV spots or not much new footage. But that may all change soon, I hope. This behind-the-scenes featurette actually aired earlier in the week during the MTV Movie Awards, but I wanted to feature it anyway. Director Michael Mann talks about the character of John Dillinger and is joined by Johnny Depp and Christian Bale as well. The most fascinating part of this is when Bale talks about Dillinger and how he became idolized in America Now that is the story I definitely can't wait to see on the big screen.Universal seems to be keeping Public Enemies very closer to their chest. "The director, who uses the single name 'McG', told The Telegraph that it was his demand for perfection that triggered Bale’s expletive-laden rant at a crew member. “I’m to blame for the whole thing,” he said.
“First and foremost it’s my job to create a safe environment on the set at all times so that actors can explore any given emotion and always believe in the sanctity of the film…
“The fact it was leaked was inexcusable and I’m ashamed and embarrassed on behalf of Hollywood that that would happen. It’s very unfortunate.”
In February, after the filming of the £100million Terminator Salvation, the audio of the actor became an overnight viral sensation. McG described the audio as “wildly offensive” but defended the actor - most famous for his performance of Batman in box office hit ‘The Dark Night’ – saying that the rant was “taken out of context”.
He admitted swearing at the actor numerous times and deliberately trying to aggravate Bale so that he would come across on camera as “fired-up”.
The film, the fourth of the Terminator movies, is set in dark, post-Apocalyptic 2018, 14 years after the nuclear attack that ended the previous Terminator trilogy.
“In a great many ways this is a war movie so I’m on the set getting in Christian’s face saying, 'You’d better get your ----ing s--- together and you’d better fire up and make me believe your life is in danger, now get off your ----ing ass Christian and go and show me something.’
"Now that’s going to get him fired up in the spirit of creating a real life and death performance and that’s never meant to get outside that arena."
McG said that in reality Bale is a caring family man.
“The truth is simply Christian’s a good guy. Don’t accuse him of being a bad guy because he’s not. He loves his family, he has no entourage, he’s an actor’s actor and he operates from a place of passion. He’ll be the first to admit, 'Wow, I flew off the handle,’ but he was very much involved in what I was driving him to.
McG is not the only crew member to have defended Bale over the tirade. Assistant director Bruce Franklin told US entertainment channel E! News that the rant was the result of Bale being distracted during an emotional scene.
He said: "If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove – it was the most emotional scene in the movie – and for him to get stopped in the middle of it... He is very intensely involved in his character.
"He doesn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed." "McG's mea culpa:
