Chicago is among the first cities to confront energy loss head-on. The city government has invested in cogeneration, the simultaneous production of heat and electricity, which is twice as efficient as conventional fuel-burning power production. The strategy is also a potent means of reducing greenhouse-gas emissions. A cogeneration plant produces only one third the CO2 of a coal-fired power plant. In its most recent energy plan, Chicago committed to producing 1.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from cogeneration by 2010—25 percent of the city’s increased energy needs from 2000 to 2010.
So far Chicago ranks # 9 in Americas 50 greenest cities.
- Electricity: 5.4
- Transportation: 7.3
- Green Living: 5.0
- Recycling/Perspective: 3.6
CATEGORY LEADER: Green Space
In addition to the 12,000 acres Chicago has devoted to public parks and waterfront space, the U.S. Green Building Council has awarded four city projects with a “Platinum” rating, its highest award.
So what else is new.
Mayor Richard M. Daley, continuing his push to make Chicago greener, wants ComEd and Peoples Gas to help Chicagoans buy big-ticket, high efficiency appliances like furnaces and cooling systems. His plan would enable customers to buy efficient air-conditioning and heating systems at no upfront cost and pay them off over time with savings on monthly utility bills. The proposal is part of a bill introduced in the Legislature by state Sen. Don Harmon.
It's one of a seriies of environmental initiatives the mayor is pursuing to make Chicago a leader in environmental policy.
Details of the plan are still being worked out. The utilities are not being asked to finance the purchase but would help administrate the program by collecting payments. City officials say the funds would come from banks and federal, state and local government grants. Chicago is among the first cities to confront energy loss head-on. The city government... more

Here is an amazing amount of information on hydrogen-power. I will be uploading a number of videos as well as a large pdf with all the information I could find on the topic.
We NEED to get this word out to EVERYONE and put the power back in the hands of the people and stop letting the rich decide our fate (or our doom) for us.
They can target one or two people here or there and make it look like an accident, but if we can group together and get large numbers to make these things happen, then we cannot be stopped.

Shigeru Hayakawa, President and CEO
Toyota Motor North America, Inc.
9 W. 57th Street, Suite 4900
New York, NY 10019
Dear Mr. Hayakawa,
I am very disappointed to learn about Toyota's opposition to a
sensible increase in fuel economy standards to 35 miles per
gallon by 2020. If your company is serious about fighting
America's addiction to oil, it's time for your lobbying to match
your advertising rhetoric.
Toyota's advertisements paint the company as the greenest, most
fuel-efficient car company on the market. If that's the case,
why is Toyota an active member of the Alliance of Automobile
Manufacturers, a Washington lobbying group that claims that a
sensible 35 mile per gallon standard is "unattainable"?
Americans who love the Prius thought that Toyota was a leader in
the field. But, based on your lobbying activities, you're no
different from all of the other auto companies.
As a consumer, I urge you to call for a 35 mile per gallon
standard by 2020 that allows for continuous improvement after
2020. I further urge you to withdraw Toyota from any lobbying
association that opposes a 35 mpg standard.

Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. regarding your concerns with Toyota's position on federally mandated fuel economy increases.
We share your interest in strengthening automotive fuel economy and, in fact, are actively lobbying for a significant increase in the Corporate Average Fuel Economy Standards (CAFE). Any assertion by anyone or any one website or blog that we are doing otherwise, is simply not true.
There are various bills before Congress that would mandate new CAFE targets by 2020 and require both cars and trucks to meet that standard. At Toyota, we favor proposed legislation known as H.R. 2927, the Hill-Terry bill. This measure is aggressive and calls for increases in CAFE by as much as 40% by 2022. Although this won't be easy, we believe it is achievable. The bill maintains separate categories for cars and trucks.
Please also note the following:
- Toyota has always exceeded federal fuel economy requirements, and our passenger car line-up has the highest CAFE rating in the automotive industry.
- Toyota is the only major automaker to consistently improve global warming performance since 2001, thanks to hybrids and better conventional technology.*
- We're totally committed to ongoing improvement of fuel economy and emissions in all of our vehicles. In fact, our commitment to this is so deep, we spend $23 million every day on green initiatives and research.
We are continuously striving to improve our fuel economy, regardless of federal mandates.
So please understand that we, too, strongly support increased fuel economy standards. It's the right thing to do-and, we hope that we've been able to provide a little more insight into our environmental commitments and actions.
Thank you for your interest in Toyota and the environment.

A beautiful and magical place that has changed my view on what is possible in the world. A fascinating place to visit. Billy Idol wrote his song "Sweet 16" about the girl who left Ed and shot a music video there. Ray Ramirez, a very knowledgeable tour guide has been studying the place for years and was kind enough to show us around the castle.
The entire place was built by Ed alone with no machines that we would currently use to lift such large blocks. This was a labor of love and the woman he built it for never even came to see it.

This is amazing because it has already been done in the last 100 years and could be a way to eventually free us from our dependence on costly forms of unstable energy resources. Even if you don't believe it, this is still an amazing place to visit. The Coral Castle, in Florida, can easily be compared to Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids. Why hasn't anyone figured this out when we spend so much time and money on researching similar theories?
It was just back in 1999 that they (the US Government) finally changed the law stating that we (independently) could even have our own energy source legally. I did a ton of research about the subject and had to slap this short together for a Kevin Smith film festival while I was attending film school. I hope to have some more time and funds to pursue a more lengthy production in the future now that I have a bit more experience in film making. This is amazing because it has already been done in the last 100 years and could be a... more
