The acquisition will be at the same proportionate price and on the same terms and conditions as those on which Buckeye has agreed to purchase an 80% indirect interest in FRBCH from affiliates of FRC Founders Corporation (First Reserve) that consists of the same form of consideration (cash and equity).

UK car manufacturer, Motor Development International, has made a new kind of car. Named as AirPod, this car can runs on air. Yes, on air. This car has 3 wheels, no steering wheels (just a joystick for driving), and two doors. This car is claimed to cause just a little pollution for the air, not as much as other cars. And although it runs on air, you can still drive it up to 50mph, and you will have to pay around $10,000 for this car.

Types of Self-Generated Power
• Solar – This type of energy harnesses the heat from the sun through the use of solar panels and uses the energy produced to produce electricity for the home and to heat water for household appliances such as heat units and air conditioners, hot water heaters and heated floors.
• Wind- Using wind turbines to produce electricity for your green home is another choice for harnessing the force of nature for alternative energy. Using the power of the wind to produce household electricity can save quite a bit of money for the homeowner. The initial cost of a wind turbine system may seem expensive but is far outweighed by the benefits of the power provided.
• Biodiesel- By burning low emission fuel sources such as corn pellets, wood, or other alternative fuels, energy produced can be used to power homes in virtually any section of the country. This makes for efficient heating and cooling of homes that lessens the use of traditional power sources during critical months of the year.
• Geothermal- This use of the earth’s natural ground temperatures to heat and cool homes allows for a moderate indoor climate to be gained without placing a strain on traditional heating and cooling units by heating or cooling the water employed by these systems to be moderated by the temperature of the ground before it enters the system.
There are a lot of great earth conscious architects and contractors around the country that can aid and assist you in the development and planning of a green, energy efficient home. While the initial costs of putting some of the products and techniques into your new home may seem daunting, the overall benefits and the cost savings are definitely worth the trouble and time.

Scramble for food companies a warning of crisis to come
September 1, 2010
Famine may be the biggest trial of our common humanity.
MUCH has been said about how BHP Billiton's bid for Potash Corporation and Canadian fertiliser company Agrium's play for AWB fit in with the growing issue of food security and food shortages.
These are just new chapters in developments that resulted in China's Bright Food Group trying to acquire Australia's CSR sugar this year and Sinochem's move to buy Australian agrichemicals operator Nufarm. Then there's Qatar-based Hassad Food, backed by the Qatar Investment Authority, buying up rural land in Australia to feed Qatar and other Middle East countries worried about food security. Hassad has bought more than $40 million worth of sheep stations in northern New South Wales and South Australia in the past six months.
The corporate activity is a storm warning of how food shortages and famine will reshape the world and corporate strategies.
The Economist notes that by 2050 world grain output will have to rise by half and meat production will need to double to meet demand at a time when growth in grain yields is flattening out, there is little extra farmland and renewable water is running short.
Similarly, rising food prices are a poke in the eye that the world needs to remind us of how fragile the food production chain has become. The drought and bushfires in Russia, combined with limits on grain exports, have resulted in a 70 per cent price spike in wheat futures, which has caused prices for soy and barley to go up by 10 per cent.
Global warming is getting the press, but some are now warning that the threat to the human race is a looming food shortage. This seems unimaginable in a world where there has been almost half a century of abundance.
But in his chilling book The Coming Famine, journalist and science writer Julian Cribb warns we are headed towards global food shortages in the next 40 years because of scarcities of water, good land, energy, nutrients, technology, fish and, significantly, stable climates. You can add to that population growth, consumer demand and protectionist trade policies.
"The coming famine is also complex, because it is driven not by one or two, or even half a dozen factors but rather by the confluence of many large and profoundly intractable causes that tend to amplify one another,'' Cribb writes. "This means that it cannot be easily remedied by 'silver bullets' in the form of technology, subsidies, or single-country policy changes, because of the synergetic character of the things that power it.''

http://www.carbontrust.co.uk/news/news/press-centre2010/2010/Pages/green-my-cabin.aspx
A new initiative aimed at reducing energy consumption in the construction industry has identified that site cabins, with their inadequate insulation and poor control of lighting and heating, are wasting 200,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
The report estimates that £45m could be saved annually by using modern “green” site offices that can cut carbon emissions and energy use by 50%, or by retrofitting existing cabins to be more energy efficient.

Back in the days when better living through chemistry was a promise, not a bitter irony, nylon stockings replaced silk, refrigerators edged out iceboxes, and Americans became increasingly dependent on man-made materials. Today nearly everything we touch—clothing, furniture, carpeting, cabinets, lightbulbs, paper, toothpaste, baby teethers, iPhones, you name it—is synthetic. The harmful side effects of industrialization—smoggy air, Superfund sites, mercury-tainted fish, and on and on—have often seemed a necessary trade-off.
But in the early 1990s a small group of scientists began to think differently. Why, they asked, do we rely on hazardous substances for so many manufacturing processes? After all, chemical reactions happen continuously in nature, thousands of them within our own bodies, without any nasty by-products. Maybe, these scientists concluded, the problem was that chemists are not trained to think about the impacts of their inventions. Perhaps chemistry was toxic simply because no one had tried to make it otherwise. They called this new philosophy "green chemistry."
