A woman shot pepper spray to keep shoppers from merchandise she wanted during a Black Friday sale, and 20 people suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:20 p.m. Thursday in a crowded Los Angeles-area Walmart as shoppers hungry for deals were let inside the store.
Police said the suspect shot the pepper spray when the coverings over the items she wanted were removed.
"Somehow she was trying to use it to gain an upper hand," police Lt. Abel Parga told The Associated Press early Friday.
He said she was apparently after some electronics and used the pepper spray to keep other shoppers at bay.
Officials said 20 people suffered minor injuries. Fire department spokesman Shawn Lenske said the injuries to least 10 of them were due to " rapid crowd movement."
Parga said police were still looking for the woman.
The store remained open and those not affected by the pepper spray continued shopping.A woman shot pepper spray to keep shoppers from merchandise she wanted during a Black... more

Pleas Lucian Kavanaugh has been found not guilty in the assault case that took place on October 24, 2009. The alleged assault took place at 112 W. High St after 1AM. Many suspicious facts caught my attention after Mr. Kavanaugh contacted me and asked that I investigate and write about his case.
I wrote my first article about this case on August 13, 2010. Since then I have written several other articles detailing the shady tactics used by prosecutor Bobby Gullette and Officer Elizabeth Adams. Some of their actions took place prior to Kavanaugh's arrest and some have taken place in the courtrooms. Those articles are linked at the bottom if you'd like to follow the entire story.
Pleas' trial began on Wednesday and ended yesterday with a not guilty verdict by 1 PM.
The victim was Morgan Louise Persely and is the daughter of the partner of Officer Elizabeth Adams. During the trial Ms. Persely's story changed and made little sense. Her story differed from details she gave to the grand jury and changed again from statements given during evidentiary hearing 1 and evidentiary hearing 2.

With the holiday season underway, intimate security checks at American airports are continuing to upset travellers.
When passengers refuse the full body scanners they may be submitted to what authorities are calling an enhanced pat-down.
Nancy Campbell, a 33-year-old from Brooklyn, reveals how the experience left her feeling as though she had been "sexually assaulted"
...
They pre-planned this gestapo well before 9/11. They just had to stage the perfect event to get the people to submit and here we are today, 10 years later, and women are getting molested at airports. Soon it will be the ball game and the shopping mall.
When will the people say "enough" to the creeping death of tyranny? Hopefully, before the technological police grid is fully in place. With the holiday season underway, intimate security checks at American airports are... more

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser allegedly grabbed fellow Justice Ann Walsh Bradley around the neck in an argument in her chambers last week, according to at least three knowledgeable sources.
Details of the incident, investigated jointly by Wisconsin Public Radio and the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, remain sketchy. The sources spoke on the condition that they not be named, citing a need to preserve professional relationships.
They say an argument that occurred before the court’s release of a decision upholding a bill to curtail the collective bargaining rights of public employees culminated in a physical altercation in the presence of other justices. Bradley purportedly asked Prosser to leave her office, whereupon Prosser grabbed Bradley by the neck with both hands.

Rae Mackin, 26-year-old woman from Green Bay, Wisconsin, has been arrested and is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy.
Rae Mackin
Rae Mackin
Mackin arrested was at a home in a Bellevue mobile home court on a bench warrant Wednesday, five days after missing her Brown County Court appearance on the charge. Sheriff’s deputies said they got a tip that Rae Mackin was getting ready to flee Wisconsin. She told a court commissioner she missed the court date because of a misunderstanding of the time.
Brown County Judge Donald Zuidmulder issued a bench warrant last week and revoked her $5,000 cash bond when she failed to appear to plead in the second-degree sexual assault case.
The criminal complaint says Mackin had consensual sex with the boy as another person goaded them on. She told investigators she knew it wasn't right but she "didn't want to disappoint anyone."

some may say the cop's did their jobs...i disagree, i see an abuse of power--when they signed up to use their weapons, i doubt they were tased that many times, nor viciously and repeatedly struck in the head and knees w/batons....i don't care what he did to get escorted out, a forearm shiver to a punk security guard doesn't warrant that type of assault...but what amazes me most is that still, after that assault, he has the capacity to put his hands behind his back---ksirys, why don't you search for those officers' names, post their facebook pages, and then vote your comment up after you type it

Today, March 15th, 2011 at 4:30 PM a rally named Texans’ Day Of Outrage was held at the Houston City Hall. It was a rally voicing unhappiness with what they claim is Republican Governor Rick Perry’s devastation of the state, working families, & the less fortunate.
The rally was well attended with mostly middle class citizens, teachers, Democratic clubs, and union workers. There were two small contingents of Tea Party activists counter protesting. One group of Tea Party members was vociferous but disciplined. The other Tea Party group was loud, vociferous, and violent. They attempted to break through the line with force towards the speakers. One man with a camera got close to the speaker and assaulted a few people on the side of the speaker pushing and hitting them with his camera.
The assaulter was brought down to the ground as police came to diffuse the situation.

Cops are hunting five teenage girls accused of pummeling a Wendy's employee in a Queens attack that was posted on YouTube.
The gang of girls punched, kicked and slapped Michelle Ortiz, 42, in a wild melee in the Hillside Ave. fast-food joint in Queens Village on Jan. 21, cops said.
Ortiz, a single mother of five, suffered a concussion in the 5 p.m. beatdown.
"Animals acted better than they acted that night," Ortiz told the Daily News. "They just kept hitting and hitting and hitting and kicking and punching me in the head. I was defenseless."
In the shocking cell phone video, Ortiz is seen confronting a mob of young people inside the eatery. Then, someone hurls food at her, and seconds later, the girls pounce.
Ortiz said a pair of girls were preparing to fight each other when she stepped in.
"I was trying to make the peace," said Ortiz, who said she is suffering from headaches and nausea that prevent her from returning to work.
Students at nearby Martin Van Buren High School said they recognized some of the assailants as underclassmen.
"They had no right to put their hands on her," said senior David Johnson, 17. "I think they should be punished."

A woman from New York allegedly mowed down her own cousin twice with a minivan over a Facebook-fueled catfight over a man. The victim, 21-year-old Giselle Penagos 21,was left lying helpless in the middle of a busy road on a freezing night, requiring emergency surgery to fix a broken leg and shattered pelvis.Luckily, an unidentified man rescued Penagos as she lay bleeding in the street and rushed her to her father's house in Queens. It all happened after she and her cousin Melanie Spanopoulos had started arguing over a man on Facebook. "If it wasn't for the good Samaritan, she could very easily have been hit by another car," Nassau County Detective Sgt. Robert Galgano told the New York Post.It was freezing outside and Penagos, unable to move due to her injuries, might also have died of exposure."I don't know what to say, it was just crazy. I was so scared," said Penagos. After watching a New York Jets game at a bar, Spanopoulos - whose Facebook page notes that her favorite activities are "getting drunk" and "speaking gibberish" - and Penagos headed home together in the same car.Galgano said that's when one of the girls found out the other one was in touch with a potential love interest on Facebook.Spanopoulos' lawyer, Dennis Lemke, said the man refused Penagos' friend request but accepted one from his client. That's when the fight started. Spanopoulos pulled off the parkway onto a dark street near Elmont Avenue and Penagos got out. When Penagos refused to get back in the van, Spanopoulos allegedly leaped out and the pair wrestled each other to the ground. The suspect then hopped behind the wheel and plowed into her cousin with the van, cops said. She then allegedly put the vehicle in reverse and smashed into her a second time.A woman from New York allegedly mowed down her own cousin twice with a minivan over a... more

John Henion was one of the producers on the Vanguard episode, "Rape on the Reservation."
As documentary producers, those of us who work on the Vanguard team often become close with many of the people that become part of our stories. Sure, it’s next to impossible to stay in touch with everyone but social networking has made this a lot easier.
Thanks to Facebook, one of the people with whom I have remained in touch is Martina One Star – one of the main subjects in "Rape on the Reservation." Martina had lost her 19-year-old daughter Marquita Walking Eagle just a few short miles from their home on South Dakota’s Rosebud Indian reservation in November 2009. We met Martina just two months after her daughter’s murder and she agreed to let us film her as she sought justice for Marquita.John Henion was one of the producers on the Vanguard episode, "Rape on the... more
