Toxic pesticides which are implanted into genetically modified food crops have lodged in the blood of pregnant women and their unborn babies, research shows.
Scientists at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at the University of Sherbrooke Hospital Centre in Quebec, took dozens of samples from women.
Traces of the toxin were found 93 per cent of the pregnant mothers and in 80 per cent of the umbilical cords.
The research suggested the chemicals were entering the body through eating meat, milk and eggs from farm livestock which have been fed GM corn.
The findings appear to contradict the GM industry’s long-standing claim that any potentially harmful chemicals added to crops would pass safely through the body.
To date, most of the global research which has been used to demonstrate the safety of GM crops has been funded by the industry itself.
It is not known what, if any, harm the chemicals might cause but there has been speculation it could lead to allergies, miscarriage, abnormalities or even cancer.
One of the researchers told the scientific journal Reproductive Toxicology: “This is the first study to highlight the presence of pesticides associated with genetically modified foods in maternal, fetal and nonpregnant women's blood.”
Pete Riley, the director of GM Freeze, a group opposed to GM farming, described the research as “very significant”.
The Agriculture Biotechnology Council, which speaks for the GM industry, has questioned the reliability and value of the research.
Dr Julian Little, its chairman, said: “Biotech crops are rigorously tested for safety prior to their use and over two trillion meals made with GM ingredients have been safely consumed around the world over the past 15 years without a single substantiated health issue.”Entire article:

time to get positioned understand their strategy , learn from it ...utilize it, and conform it to "Our" new vision of a greener cleaner, free-er, democracy and world that is united we have much to fight... evil, empirical, and old-world thinking powers ... monsters like Monsanto,
an organism genetically modified itself from inception read watch and learn The War With The World....that Mosanto seems to have against us , in this free doc.
Monsanto is the world leader in genetically modified organisms (GMOs), as well as one of the most controversial corporations in industrial history. This century-old empire has created some of the most toxic products ever sold, including polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and the herbicide Agent Orange. Based on a painstaking investigation, The World According to Monsanto puts together the pieces of the company’s history, calling on hitherto unpublished documents and numerous first-hand accounts. Today, Monsanto likes to style itself as a “life sciences” company. The leader in genetically modified seeds, engineered to resist its herbicide Roundup, claims it wants to solve world hunger while protecting the environment. In the light of its troubling past, can we really believe these noble intentions? Misleading reports, collusion, pressure tactics and attempts at corruption: the history of Monsanto is filled with disturbing episodes. Behind its clean, green image, Monsanto is tightening its grasp on the world seed market, striving for market supremacy to the detriment of food security and the global environment.
This is a well made film. It was originally made in french. The producers go the extra mile in traveling the world to talk to those effected by Monsanto. Monsanto themselves decided not to participate in the film...and when you watch the film, you will understand why.. .disturbing but educational to say the least( Thanks Jan (hat tip)

A quick premise for the people that do not know who Monsanto is and what is high fructose corn syrup:
Monsanto is the leading producer of biochemical products and the world's largest seed company. It has monopolized agriculture and our food with its genetically engineered corn, soy and cotton.
From this GM corn, a substance is made: High fructose corn syrup; it's found as an ingredient in almost every conventional food. It's used as a sweetener, flavor enhancer, preservative and is cheap.
More and more studies are showing the dangerous effects of this substance that not only feeds humans but is used to feed livestock, pigs, chickens, fishes and even our precious bees!
This genetically engineered food has been deteriorating people's health for over 40 years since its introduction to our agriculture.
It was engineered to work in conjunction with the herbicide "Roundup" which contaminates water, soil and kills all plants and animals.
Ironically, this industry is heavily subsidized by the government; our tax money are put to work against us and to enrich corporations like Monsanto, Syngenta, Dow, Bayer etc.
You can learn more about who owns nature here (excellent publication):
http://www.etcgroup.org/upload/publication/707/01/etc_won_report_final_color.pdf
Said this, since 2006, billions of bee colonies have died for no apparent reason. This phenomenon has affected the world's food production, and has been titled "Colony Collapse Disorder" (CCD). As you might know already, bees are responsible for 1/3 of the world's food production, and it is one of the world's most important natural assets.
We think of the CCD for the bees as the cancer for humans.
We believe that one of the main causes of the massive dying off of bees is high fructose corn syrup. Learn more about the importance of bees:
http://www.pan-europe.info/Resources/Articles/A_World_Without_Bees.pdf.
Other causes are pesticides, antibiotics, parasites, pathogens, livestock-like practices (bigger hive cell sizes, migratory stress, antibiotics, various chemicals used), drought, etc.
Also, as a result of this diet, the honey that gets produced is essentially high fructose corn syrup and honey mixed together; there isn't such a thing as "pure" or "natural" honey.
Now, why would beekeepers feed this poison to bees? Simply and tragically because it is a money saving solution, the quick fix mentality and the adoption of short sighted solutions.
Who's behind all of this?
The corporations that control corn, soy, cotton, also control nature, control our economy and society just like the fossil fuel industry does. Corporatism is killing nature and people, represents our current economy and laws, and is the new Nazism or form of imperialism.
What's the solution?
A healthy environment and organic beekeeping are the answer to this problem, learn more here: http://www.bee-hexagon.net/files/file/fileE/Organic/ProgramAbstracts.pdf
This can only be achieved if we steer away from a chemical based agriculture and embrace an organic agriculture where principles of permaculture, sustainability and biodiversity are implemented.
You can start by supporting the organic market, you can call your congress representatives and pressure them to subsidize organic agriculture and abandon our current system: https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml.

The terms freedom and rights continue to swirl as politicians hit the campaign trail, but for farmers across America these words represent their 20-year plight against agribusinesses. Earlier this month, over 60 family farmers, seed businesses, and organic agricultural organizations along with the Public Patent Foundation sued Monsanto. Monsanto is best known for their wide range of GMO seeds and related growing products that have been sweeping through USDA approvals, despite extensive farmers, environmentalist, and health advocates’ concerns. The lawsuit is an unusual one, 20-years in the making. It tells a tale that for many Americans sounds like a conspiracy theory, until you meet those affected, including you.
Suing Monsanto was a pre-emptive measure for these organizations to protect their seeds and agricultural history. Ever since Monsanto’s GMO seeds received their respective patents, the company has filed a litany of suits against farmers for patent infringement. The majority of farmers were victims of cross-pollination by GMO crops and seed spills, yet Monsanto has successfully sued and bankrupted an unsettling amount of American farmers on these grounds. The company has also been chronicled intimidating farmers from seed saving, a tradition as old as agriculture itself, that empowers farmers to save money and produce resilient and hearty crops year after year.
This issue at hand is much larger than patent infringement. GMO seeds are carefully regulated or banned in the majority of developed nations. Although Monsanto is well aware of these restrictions and regulations, the company has successfully promoted the seeds as harmless, even a solution to world hunger.

Americans will be mobilizing across the country to say NO to unlabelled foods that contain GMOs. It is our right to know what we are eating and we are taking action. The time is now to take control of our food and that means taking it to the grocers in your neighborhood. Substantial equivalence can no longer be used as a reason to keep rightful disclosure from consumers.
Corporate loopholes designed to safeguard profits rather than caring about health and environment have brought our healthcare system and environment to the abyss. We must stop this greed from taking us to the point of no return while there is still time. If you’re like me, you’ve heard a great deal of conflicting talk about the naturalness, goodness, badness, healthfulness and harmfulness of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS).
The FDA says it can be labeled a “natural” product because it is made from corn. Yet, a percentage of the corn it is manufactured from is known as GMO or has been genetically modified. That doesn’t sound so natural to me.
The corn people tell us that HFCS is the same as sugar and is healthy in moderation. Yet, HFCS is much sweeter than regular table sugar or the sugars found in fruit. So the definition of what is “in moderation” for HFCS is different than that for white processed sugar. They neglected to tell us that.
There has been a good deal of noise about HFCS being responsible, in part, for the current rise in childhood obesity. After all, HFCS has replaced sugar in a large number of packaged foods and beverages kids (and adults) consume on a daily basis.
A study presented at the American Society of Nephrology’s 42nd Annual Meeting found that the rate of obesity has increased sharply since the development of HFCS and that the prevalence of HFCS in processed foods may have something to do with it. It’s been reported that Americans now consume 30 percent more fructose than they did 20 years ago.
Yet, the website sweetsurprise.com claims that high fructose corn syrup does not contribute to obesity any differently than sugar. In support of this assertion they quote from a 2007 study:
http://www.personalliberty.com/alternative-medicine/the-skinny-on-high-fructose-corn-syrup/?eiid=&rmid=2011_03_15_PLA_[P11218801]&rrid=376034956If you’re like me, you’ve heard a great deal of conflicting talk about the... more

"More and more produce items are sporting scan-able barcodes and we thought it might be cool if consumers could figure out where a particular fruit was grown. Did you know that 27% of produce is grown by family farms? We decided to partner with Top 10 Produce to help ShopSavvy users ‘Know Your Farmer’. The program is brand new, but over the coming months hundreds of farms will be added to the system. ShopSavvy users who scan produce will find pictures, maps, Facebook Pages, Twitter feeds related to the farmer who grew the fruit or vegetable."

The TV and your computer monitor can be used to manipulate your nervous system. Here is the proof. Read it and weep:
Nervous system manipulation by electromagnetic fields from monitors US Patent #6,506,148
“SUMMARY: Computer monitors and TV monitors can be made to emit weak low-frequency electromagnetic fields merely by pulsing the intensity of displayed images. Experiments have shown that the 1/2 Hz sensory resonance can be excited in this manner in a subject near the monitor. The 2.4 Hz sensory resonance can also be excited in this fashion. Hence, a TV monitor or computer monitor can be used to manipulate the nervous system of nearby people.”
“It is thus apparent that the human nervous system can be manipulated by screen emissions from subliminal TV image pulses.” LINK

http://www.anh-usa.org/usda-says-yes-to-genetically-engineered-sugarbeets-kiss-organic-goodbye/
The US Department of Agriculture last Friday gave farmers the go-ahead to resume planting Roundup Ready sugarbeets—claiming it’s the only way to avoid a nationwide shortage of sugar!
Hot on the heels of the deregulation of genetically engineered (GE) alfalfa, the USDA said it would once again allow the GE sugarbeet to be planted, contrary to the order of district court judge Jeffrey S. White, who said a full environmental impact statement (EIS) needed to be done first. As the Wall Street Journal points out, an EIS of the type ordered by the judge is usually thousands of pages long and takes years to conduct. That would have kept the genetically modified sugarbeets out of the hands of farmers at least through 2012.
This would allow farmers to begin planting GE sugarbeets this spring. But the environmental and organic seed groups that originally sued the USDA said Friday they would ask Judge White to block this latest move by the USDA.
Processors say there aren’t enough non-GE sugarbeet seeds around for farmers to plant this spring. A study conducted for the sugar industry predicted that US sugar production would plunge 20% if the judge’s ban stays in place, and it appears this study alarmed food companies enough that they were able the pressure USDA into acting now. (For more on sugar and sweeteners, see our article elsewhere in this issue.)
In this case, the sugarbeets are being “partially deregulated”: USDA is permitting farmers to plant genetically modified sugarbeets this year only if they adhere to rules designed to prevent the plant’s wind-blown pollen from reaching organic fields, where its biotechnology traits could spread—though if the rules themselves prove ineffective, organic sugarbeets will be contaminated.
That contamination is what is most worrisome. The Organic Consumers Association had this to say about the deregulation of alfalfa: “[It is] guaranteed to spread its mutant genes and seeds across the nation; guaranteed to contaminate the alfalfa fed to organic animals; guaranteed to lead to massive poisoning of farm workers and destruction of the essential soil food web by the toxic herbicide, Roundup; and guaranteed to produce Roundup-resistant superweeds….” Health advocates have the same concerns about sugarbeets.
If you haven’t already done so, please visit our Action Alert page where you can write to President Obama, Congress, and the USDA, and tell them to reverse this terrible decision. Please contact them today!http://www.anh-usa.org/usda-says-yes-to-genetically-engineered-sugarbeets-kiss-organic-... more

Stonyfield says: "The Organic Consumers Association distributed an inaccurate, irresponsible and frankly appalling letter that attempted to pin the blame for the USDA’s decision of deregulating GE alfalfa squarely on Stonyfield, Organic Valley and Whole Foods.
OCA’s letter is blatantly untrue and dangerously misleading, but also deeply divisive at a time when we all need to be focused on immediate actions necessary to stop this new policy from going into effect."
One more excerpt:
"But I need to take a moment to address the misguided and fallacious OCA attack on Stonyfield, Whole Foods and Organic Valley. Their missive has generated many questions in the last couple of days. I have read them with a heavy heart. I have no idea about their motivations. I have never met Ronnie Cummins and he certainly has never asked me for my views on these issues.
But simply put, instead of fighting with each other, we need to fight Monsanto and the forces that are causing the voices of hundreds of thousands of Americans who support organic to be silenced. All of us who are opposed to the USDA decision to deregulate GE alfalfa must speak with one voice. Anything less keeps us divided and distracted."

US embassy cable recommends drawing up list of countries for 'retaliation' over opposition to genetic modification
The US embassy in Paris advised Washington to start a military-style trade war against any European Union country which opposed genetically modified (GM) crops, newly released WikiLeaks cables show.
In response to moves by France to ban a Monsanto GM corn variety in late 2007, the ambassador, Craig Stapleton, a friend and business partner of former US president George Bush, asked Washington to penalise the EU and particularly countries which did not support the use of GM crops.

" Control The Food Supply, and you control the people."
Acting on information from a “key intelligence source,” CBS News claimed that terrorists are trying to poison our food supply on Monday. This may come as a shock, but some researchers have already identified several thriving “food-terror cells” who’ve been operating from within our borders for years. One is based in St. Louis, Missouri under the cover of a trans-national chemical manufacturer turned bio tech firm. It turns out that Monsanto has been poisoning Americans with the FDA’s approval for at least 12 years.
Mary Nash Stoddard of the Aspartame Consumer Safety Network informs us:
“In 1998, Monsanto applied for FDA approval for a monster molecule, ‘based on the aspartame formula,’ with one critical addition: 3-dimethylbutyl [listed on EPA's most hazardous chemical list]. Neotame is touted as being 13,000 times sweeter than sugar.
On July 5 2002, Monsanto’s Neotame molecule was approved by the US FDA over formally registered objections of the Aspartame Consumer Safety Network and others. Long term effects on humans are unknown. Read the full release at the Aspartame Consumer Safety Network. The food labeling requirements for aspartame have now been dropped for Neotame, and no one is clear why this was allowed to happen. Neotame has been ruled acceptable, without being included on the list of ingredients, for USDA Certified Organic food items and Certified Kosher products with the official letter k inside the circle on labels.
Ever ready to give the public what it craves – guilt-free, low calorie treats that taste as good as sugar, is the multi-billion dollar sweetener industry. The sugar industry pales by comparison in the profit-generating arena. Fake sugars, in the form of Aspartame and now the Aspartame super clone, Neotame, give ‘foodies’ and fitness fanatics false hope and the empty promise that all can ‘have our cake and eat it, too.’ “Not necessarily so.” Don’t think that by avoiding sweet things you won’t get a 3-dimethylbutyl dose. Neotame is quickly displacing molasses as a feed amendment at industrial cattle lots, helping to make those cows’ GMO grain-based diet “more palatable.”
With an even more questing spirit than the alleged al Qaeda plotters, who supposedly planned to put cyanide in our restaurant salad buffets, Monsanto has already managed to put their genetically modified crops into 70 percent of the processed food products on grocery store shelves. The FDA does not require labeling of these disease-causing ingredients. Monsanto’s continued expansion and its infiltration of rural America has been funded by a massive subsidy program authorized by the USDA. Many have written about the revolving door leadership policy between federal food agencies and the corporate behemoth, but few seem to grasp the grave dangers such a good-ol’-boy network entails. The fact is, Monsanto has not produced a “food” product that independent, non-corporate sponsored studies have found to be safe for prolonged human consumption.
Case and point: recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone (aka rBGH or rBST). This refers to a genetically modified hormone injected into dairy cows to boost their milk production. Together with being more plentiful (and more puss-filled), milk from rBGH treated cows (despite what the milk-jug label wants you to believe) is detrimental to human health. Sold to factory dairy farmers under the brand name Posilac, rBGH has successfully evaded crucial labeling laws in the U.S. and abroad since it was approved by the FDA in 1994. Posilac was perhaps the most prevalent Weapon of Mass Disease in Monsanto’s well-stocked arsenal until the first wave of unbiased scientific scrutiny forced them to pawn their cancer-causing product off on pharmaceutical giant Eli Lily.
I think it’s about time for Americans to be a little more proactive in fighting food-terrorism. Though most of use don’t have the luxury of producing our own food, we can at least use our powers as consumers to opt-out of supporting terrorist organizations. Just say no to Monsanto products and to a genetically altered, chemically perverted food supply. Let’s stop funding organizations that wreak economic, ecological and biological terror on the civilized world.31st December 2010

Would you eat cloned meat? I certainly wouldn’t, but according to the The Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes, it is “unlikely to present any risk.” The worst part is that whether you’d eat it or not, you already may have. The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture said that he is unsure if any cloned meat has been sold in North America. This means that you may have already eaten cloned meat without your knowledge.
Three other cases of cloned meat being sold in the UK have been documented by the Food Standards Agency (FSA). Two of which involved Highlands farm bulls grown from embryos of a cow cloned in the US, with the third involving meat sent to a London butcher shop.
Despite cloned meat going incognito into the bellies of citizens worldwide, some scientists are now claiming that it is virtually identical to regular meat.
FSA chief scientist Andrew Wadge said: “The Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes has confirmed that meat and milk from cloned cattle and their offspring shows no substantial difference to conventionally produced meat and milk, and therefore is unlikely to present a food safety risk.”
