Tuesday, August 25 was the first day of classes for students at San Francisco State University. As students and teachers return, they're getting a rude wake-up call in the wake of cuts to the CSU system.
Student fees have gone up 32 percent in just one year. Not only are costs up, but students are getting less bang for the buck because of canceled classes. So why is that sooooo many people are happy they got fired or they are happy Google saved them from going bankrupt or changed their lives for the better. Apparently Google has been paying top dollar for people to sit at their computers and do something related to posting links on the web. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I guess there are tons of success stories out there. Some people are claiming they make $5,000 a month. DAMN! That's more than some college graduates make. Why even go to college if you can work from home and make a decent income? I'm sure this has been going on for a while and maybe I'm late and this conversation has already taken place, but during a time when the economy is shitty, people are losing their homes they busted their asses to own, the national debt is ridiculously high, and recent college grads are in debt and can't find a job, it just goes to show how bad things have become. I'm sure some of those testimonials are from college graduates who would much rather be working in the field they studied, but because of the decisions made by our government some Americans have to sacrifice there dreams just to survive. When will it end? I don't know, but if the testimonials are real and some people are proud of working for Google that's fine. I don't know where this posting is headed. There are so many thoughts popping into my head as I am typing, so I will end with this.
If someone can verify that Google is actually helping people during this Great Recession please post a link or comment on this posting.
