Nanosponges created by researchers at Penn State and Rice University have the potential to revolutionize the way environmentally-devastating oil spills are cleaned up.
The nanosponges are hydrophobic — they repeal water — and highly porous, being comprised of more than 99 percent air. Their composition makes them able to adsorb a large amount of oil. In addition, the nanosponges are easily manipulated with magnets.
“These samples can be made pretty large and can be easily scaled up,” explained Daniel Hashim, a graduate student at Rice University. “They’re super-low density, so the available volume is large. That’s why the uptake of oil can be so high.”
The nanosponges are even reusable. After absorbing oil, the liquid can be squeezed out or even burned off, without any damage to the nanosponge.

"This is outstanding news, I am however a bit curious what this will do with all the oil at the bottom of the ocean, I also see it as a way for oil companies like BP to continue their hap hazardous way of Drilling..."By Eric W. Dolan

Disgraced pedophile and former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky may have actually pimped out young boys to rich donors of his foundation Second Mile.
These revolutions were first reported to a large audience by radio host and journalist Mark Madden who himself broke the whole Jerry Sandusky pedophile story accurately in April 2011.
Speaking on The Dennis and Callahan Show, Madden revealed what he thinks the next big revelation will be:
“I can give you a rumor and I can give you something I think might happen,” Madden told John Dennis and Gerry Callahan. “I hear there’s a rumor that there will be a more shocking development from the Second Mile Foundation — and hold on to your stomachs, boys, this is gross, I will use the only language I can — that Jerry Sandusky and Second Mile were pimping out young boys to rich donors. That was being investigated by two prominent columnists even as I speak.”
While this fact might seem outlandish to the uninformed person, the fact that the super rich may be involved in child pedophile rings is something that has been heavily documented in the last twenty years including the now infamous Franklin Scandal.
The Franklin Scandal, widely exposed in an outstanding book by author Nick Bryant, involved a nationwide pedophile ring that reached the highest levels of the American and European governments.
The FRANKLIN SCANDAL is the story of a nationwide pedophile ring that pandered children to a cabal of the rich and powerful. The ring’s pimps were a pair of political powerbrokers who had access to the highest levels of our government. Nebraska legislators nearly exposed the ring in 1990, but its unveiling had the potential to produce seismic political aftershocks. The legislators’ efforts resulted in rash of mysterious deaths and the overpowering corruption of federal and local law enforcement, including the FBI, Secret Service, and Justice Department, effecting an immaculate cover-up of the trafficking network.
Madden went on to say that although he usually doesn’t support spreading rumors, he believes this one to be legitimate and was not the original source.
In another frighting aspect of this still unfolding story, it has been reported that the District Attorney who was investigating these allegations actually went missing 2005 and was presumed dead last year!

I usually only post political news, but this one hit me quite hard. It looks like "Joe Pa" will become a casualty of the molestation scandal. I don't know if Joe was aware of what happened, I haven't seen anything yet. But here's a guy coaching a major college football program, winning national titles, sending great players to the pros while still maintaining an 87% graduation rate. If there is any coach in major college sports that actually cares more about his players than himself, its "Joe Pa". Unfortunately, given his age, he had to rely more on his assistants and as a consequence, the program likely got out of control. At least, that's my guess. Its a shame. If my son were in to football and had a chance at a scholarship at PSU, I'd have no problem sending him there, because I'd know that no matter what happened, whether its a blown out knee or just plain not good enough, he'd still have a college degree and be ready for life in the real world. Talk about collateral damage.

Blurb: A Penn State inquiry has found that three of four research misconduct allegations against PSU climate scientist Michael Mann are totally without merit. Climate disruption "skeptics" respond with spin, accusations of bias, and conspiracy theories.
Excerpt: After the CRU emails were released in November, 2009, there was widespread accusations of misconduct against most of the scientists mentioned in the emails. Today, the Penn State University (PSU) inquiry committee investigating accusations made against Dr. Michael Mann publicly released its findings. The committee found that, with respect to the most serious three accusations out of four, “there exists no credible evidence” that Mann had committed research misconduct. The inquiry committee empaneled an investigation committee to look into the last accusation – that Mann had “seriously deviated from accepted practices within the academic community” – because they could make a determination about this and because
Only with such a review will the academic community and other interested parties likely feel that Penn State has discharged its responsibility on this matter.

Corporate media completely silent on latest development with warming fraudsters
A leading scientist involved in the climategate scandal received over half a million dollars in federal economic stimulus funds from the Obama Administration last Summer, it has been revealed.
Professor Michael Mann of Penn State University, currently under investigation by the institution itself for his role in massaging climate data and hijacking the peer review process to advance the myth of anthropogenic global warming, was awarded a grant of $541,184 by the government in June 2009.
Mann, the creator of the now infamously discredited Hockey Stick Graph, landed money that came directly from the U.S. Treasury's economic stimulus package, reveals the Washington free-market think-tank group The National Center For Public Policy Research (NCPPR).
The official justification for the grant, authorized under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, was labeled as "climate change research".
An NCPPR press release, published today, calls for the funds to be returned:
"It's outrageous that economic stimulus money is being used to support research conducted by Michael Mann at the very time he’s under investigation by Penn State and is one of the key figures in the international Climategate scandal. Penn State should immediately return these funds to the U.S. Treasury," said Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center's Free Enterprise Project.
The funds Mann is receiving from the government come in addition to another award to Penn State University researchers of $1.9 million in stimulus funds to study the effects of climate change on the spread of infectious diseases.
NCPPR further commented in its press release:
"It's no wonder that Obama's stimulus plan is failing to produce jobs. Taxpayer dollars aren't being used in the ways most likely to spur job creation. The stimulus was not sold to the public as a way to reward a loyalist in the climate change debate. Nor was the stimulus sold as a way to promote the Obama Administration's position on the global warming theory...As is often the case, political considerations corrupt the distribution of government funds," said Deneen Borelli, a fellow with the National Center's Project 21 black leadership network.
Of course, the kind of economic stimulus Obama has in mind in awarding such grants to proponents of AGW may stem directly from his own intimate involvement in the carbon tax program he is now seeking to broadly implement.Corporate media completely silent on latest development with warming fraudsters
