Today in the Bands that Coldplay Ripped Off Division, we’ve got (7) the Verve vs (10) Elbow. The Verve’s “the Drugs Don’t Work” may well be the best British ballad to come out of the 90’s, but Elbow has a massive sound, and this song “Ground for Divorce” gives you an idea of what Coldplay was going for with their track “Lost.”

Kings of Leon, Jay-Z and The Verve have been announced as the headliners for 2008's Glastonbury festival.
Kings of Leon will headline the iconic Pyramid Stage on the Friday night (June 27), Jay-Z will do his stuff on Saturday and The Verve will close the festival on the Sunday.
Other bands confirmed as playing are Leonard Cohen, British Sea Power and, um, Neil Diamond.
Radiohead have a gap in their tour and there had been online speculation that they might be playing the Saturday night slot.
Don't forget, if you want to go and you haven't registered already, you'll need to do so by 14th March.

Three weeks ago, in their first interview together for nine years, the Verve recounted to NME the exact moment that they started making music together again.
"We all decided," Richard Ashcroft told us, "That rather than meeting for a cup of coffee or a beer or whatever, we should meet in a studio where we can do what we do. Straight away."
Now, in a phenomenally exciting world exclusive, The Verve are giving away the first fruits of the recording session the actual first 14 minutes they laid down together through NME.com. No rehearsal, no fine tuning, no limits: just Richard Ashcroft, Nick McCabe, Simon Jones and Pete Salisbury back together in a room, making music.
The first new material by The Verve in 10 years is now just a click away...
