Code Pink told the CSM the group would continue to oppose any increase in troop levels in Afghanistan.
"With President Obama weighing Gen. Stanley McChrystal's call for 40,000 more US troops, the White House, often decried by Republicans as a hotbed of liberalism, could find itself with more allies on the right on this issue than on the left," writes Johanna Neuman at the Los Angeles Times. "But Code Pink's latest think could suggest that Democrats will give Obama a bit of room to maneuver on the issue."
With Code Pink's announcement, some conservative commentators have accused the anti-war movement of hypocrisy.
Describing the movement as a "sham," blogger Strieff at RedState.com writes:
If there was ever any doubt that the anti-war movement was nothing more or less than an adjunct of the Democrat party, that doubt has been swept away. One would think that with the war in Afghanistan at a critical stage ... that the anti-war movement would have been in fine form. If there was ever a time when their presence might have actually made a policy difference this was it.
The anti-war movement we were afflicted with over the past eight years was essentially a rent-a-mob that never had any larger objective than damaging President Bush.Code Pink told the CSM the group would continue to oppose any increase in troop levels... more
Below is a report from Richard Congress, a participant in the Code Pink delegation to Gaza in March. Code Pink has several upcoming trips to Gaza. From Code Pink: "May 28-June 5, through Egypt; June 5-14, through Israel. For more information, e-mail gaza.codepink@gmail.com, call 415-558-5700, or check out www.codepinkalert.org/gaza."
---------
I had been to embattled, desperately poor countries before. I spent most of the 1980s shuffling between the US and Nicaragua working to help the Sandinista revolution in the face of the US/contra aggression. But I had no idea what to expect in Gaza. It is definitely a different place. I had never been to the Mideast before.
Palestine is not historically as poor as Central America. They've had a history of small businesses, orchards, farms, and have struggled to give good education to their children. The Israelis have been undermining these accomplishments step by step in an attempt to break their morale as a people. With the blockade the standard of living has been falling rapidly.
The Gaza strip is 25 miles long south to north and 3 to 7 miles wide from the sea to the Israeli border. On March 8, I helped deliver 1000 baskets with cosmetics and consumer products which were gifts to Palestinian women attending UN sponsored International Women's Day meetings. It was something for the men on the delegation to do. We had a truck loaded with baskets and I was in a car following the truck. We made deliveries from border to border. I got to see all of Gaza in less than half a day. One and a half million people are packed into this small strip of land. Because of the blockade most people are unemployed and most families depend on UN food aid to live.
Most of the population of Gaza comes from Palestinians who were chased off their land by the Israeli army in 1948. Gaza is a mostly urban place with lots of buildings of a few stories, say 4 to 7, packed closely together. Often entire extended families live in one multi-story buildings. The main refugee camp in Gaza City, Jabalyia, has 125,000 people. The camp is not one of tents but of cement building with narrow alleyways. There are commercial centers with small stores and eating places, markets and car traffic (also a lot of horse and donkey cart traffic).
The large number of children is also striking. Something like 40% of the population is 15 and under. Many of the children looked sort of dazed or shell shocked. When I met families, I saw a few children who had been wounded in the Israeli assault. Everyone had a story about children being killed in bombings or shot by Apache gunships or snipers on the ground.
The first two nights I was in Gaza I heard loud bangs. In the morning our hosts and their neighbors talked about where the Israeli airstrike took place or if it was an F16 or an Apache. After I left Gaza I heard by email of other attacks. This is as close to a state of "normalcy" that Gaza ever achieves.
Walking though the streets you would see a row of buildings and one or two would be demolished by F-16 or Apache helicopter strikes. Some of the buildings hit were police stations, Hamas offices, government buildings, but others were medical clinics, schools, or residences. Daniel, a Palestinian paramedic in whose house four of us were staying, showed us around different neighborhoods. "In this house everybody died, a family of 12," "Over here six kids were killed, it was just a house nothing political."
Daniel himself is a story. He is a 28 year old Ukrainian-Palestinian who grew up in the Ukraine, his mother was a ballerina, and at age 20 he came to Palestine to help his people. He is a nurse and a paramedic (which he became while in the Ukrainian army). He lives in his family house in Jabalyia on the first floor. The other floors house his three uncle's families.
Daniel speaks Ukrainian, Arabic and English. Sometimes I heard him speaking Ukrainian on his cell phone. "There are a few of us around here," (continued Below)Below is a report from Richard Congress, a participant in the Code Pink delegation to... more

Since the report aired, a national grassroots effort to save her home was launched. In this piece, we report on the outcome of said initiative and delve deeper into a connection between Jocelyn's mortgage company and Goldman Sachs.

SAN FRANCISCO - An anti-war protester confronted former Bush administration aide Karl Rove while he spoke at a San Francisco mortgage bankers' meeting.
A statement by the group Code Pink identified the woman as 58-year-old Janine Boneparth, who tried to handcuff Rove in what she called a citizen's arrest for "treason."
Rove, who was speaking Tuesday at the Mortgage Bankers Association's annual convention, elbowed Boneparth away as she was escorted off the stage.
In total, five Code Pink members were removed from the hall during Rove's appearance. The organization says none of the five women were charged.SAN FRANCISCO - An anti-war protester confronted former Bush administration aide Karl... more
Two women clad in pink stole a moment of Sarah Palin's oratorical thunder Wednesday night.
As the GOP vice presidential candidate energized the crowd with a diatribe against the Democratic nominee alongside praise for running mate Sen. John McCain, Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans, co-founders of the theatrical Code Pink anti-war group for women, moved toward the stage.
But as they were on Palin's right side, officers lifted them up and pulled them away, escorting them outside one at a time. The women's exposed dress slips bore the message: "Palin is not a women's choice."
The two women were taken outside and held until the end of the speech. They were told they'd face arrest if they tried to re-enter the convention.
Two other group members, Elizabeth Hourican and Nancy Mancias, were able to interrupt John McCain's speech Thursday night before they were both removed from the convention.
These women join a roster of protesters in a city where more than 300 have been arrested while demonstrating during the Republican National Convention.
By Thursday morning, Code Pink's national media coordinator, Jean Stevens, was already publicizing Benjamin and Evans' attempt to upstage Palin.
Five Code Pink members have been arrested this week at the dozen or so events it has organized.
Evans said that policing in St. Paul has been more forceful than at the Democratic National Convention the previous week in Denver. There, she said, members were escorted by their elbows from a symposium while criticizing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for not using her power to end the war. But they were allowed to continue chanting with signs outside the building.
Here in St. Paul, Evans said, "They herd you with horses. It's really insane."
The name Code Pink is a play on the Bush administration's color-coded stages of national security alerts. They say the "Code Pink" alert is a "feisty call to wage peace."
"The whole idea of Code Pink is to disarm," said co-founder Evans. But while some police officers smile at their singsong chants - "We are marching for a peaceful world," they sing repeatedly - Evans notes that some also go ahead and arrest members, who often stage protests without official permits and have engaged in acts of civil disobedience.
From the start the group has used their gender and the color scheme to mock and create satirical events.

Judy Christopher says, among other things, that she can imagine how people in war torn countries view the images of crowds in San Francisco celebrating Fleet Week.
I can imagine that too, but can't say I much enjoy imagining it.
That's why I'm filing my first 400 signatures with the San Francisco Department of Elections on Monday, to begin the process of qualifying a ballot initiative that would cancel the invitation that San Francisco's elected representatives have, every years since 1981, extended to Fleet Week and all the shock'n awe military recruitment shows that
come with it.

They sat quietly for a large portion of the meeting while only holding up their bloody hands. Republicans objected to their presence, but Democratic Chairwoman Rep. Acoustic Landscape Architecture Applied to Law, Criminality and Behavior Sciences
- Environmental Architecture 3D
I created this topic because in today's World there are many human healthy and scientific misconceptions in the area of transportation and acoustics resulting from decades of lobbying from Industry and Commerce in the USA and abroad, consequently helping to alienate the public and its education on the subject.
The goal here is to study this subject analyzing many spiritual, physical and psychological aspects of toxic energy created by humans mainly in the area of acoustics and the products that relate to it. It is an Artistic proposal and a Sciences Master Degree Theme.
Therefore here is the question:
- What is the reality and what is not when we deal with sound (noise) emissions and its traveling range perimeter path and how that negatively affects human life daily?Acoustic Landscape Architecture Applied to Law, Criminality and Behavior Sciences

The first civil principal anyone must know; (no excuses or exceptions); is to behave civically and accordingly with the Law. It is just part of your reasoning and logic behavior analysis to identify when a person is not following lawful principals that protects everyone rights of peace and quietness. That is exactly where criminality and terrorism starts. Terrorism starts when an individual violate the rights of other arbitrarily. Acoustic pollution is the first act of terrorism and arbitrariness in America today. Go look for acoustic polluters and you will also find a closed terrorist.

There are two important impeachment events this week in San Francisco
First, we want to remind you that tomorrow, Monday 18, President's
Day, Code Pink is holding a "Pink Slip Cheney" rally starting at
Market & Powell in San Francisco (the cable car turn around), from
1:00-2:30 PM, and moving from there to a party in front of Nancy
Pelosi's House, 2640 Broadway (between Scott and Divisadero) from
3:00-4:00 PM.
They are asking everyone to wear something pink and to bring laptops
to sign more people up for the Wexler impeachment petition. Prominent
impeachment activists, Chris Daly, Medea Benjamin, Cindy Sheehan,
Denis Burnstein, Peter Phillips, Cynthia McKinney and many more have
been invited, there will be music, skits and more. Sign up right
here, right now
And Second, Shirley Golub, who is challenging Nancy Pelosi for the
Democratic primary nomination in June will be leading an "On The
Table" rally in front of Nancy Pelosi's district office at 450 Golden
Gate Ave this coming Thursday, Feb 21, from 12 noon to 1:00 PM.
Bring your impeachment signs and banners to both events, and Shirley
will be at the Code Pink rally also with the new orange "Impeach
Both!!!" caps, collecting petitions signatures and everything else,
so look for her.
Please come out for one or both of these events. We are at the
critical tipping point right now, with the House finally having voted
out contempt against Bolton and Miers, and it is all because of you.
We need to rally as many people as we can to make a demonstration at
both these events and we can actually make impeachment a reality.
Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed
to be ours, and forward this alert as widely as possible.
If you would like to get alerts like these, you can do so at http://www.usalone.com/in.htmDear Friends and Activists,
