Many of you have probably heard of the Step It Up movement. Many others of you probably have not. The fact is, whether you like it or not, global warming is a real and serious threat to the survival of life as we know it on our fair planet (if you'll pardon my cliche there). Cities around the nation are gearing up to host events aimed towards making the public and, possibly more importantly, governmental candidates aware that there will never be a better time than now to take action to reduce our contribution to this environmental nightmare.
The specific link I am sharing shows an event on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign-Urbana. From this link, you can explore to find events going on in your area. If there is no event near you, I encourage you to find a way to make one, even though it's rather short notice, and notify your friends, relatives, and neighbors of all the ways they can participate.

Plastic bags are not the biggest single issue out there, and no expert on global warming would suggest solutions rest wholly with decisions made by individual consumers.
