OK, here's the premise: CNN uses RubeTube contributors as "shills" for its own ends. The "democratization" of the "debate" process is bullshit. What do you think?
The UTube vids, the questions asked, are not the problem. It's the "selection" process done by the "experts" at CNN that's at the root of the problem. Their criteria for selection are not concrete, nor are they public. And, far worse, the political "debates" aren't really debates, nor are they analyzed by the media pundits (who started using that word?) with any sense of perspective that matters to citizens. Where are the fundamental ethical, long-term issues that truly matter?OK, here's the premise: CNN uses RubeTube contributors as "shills" for... more

The impact of polls and polling on our political process continues to be one of the unexplored stories of the 2008 race.
Take the remarkable gap -- chasm, really -- between the widening lead national polls continue to anoint Hillary Clinton with and the current dead heat in Iowa and New Hampshire.
It's enough to leave one wondering: are polls measuring the 2008 election or are they driving it?The impact of polls and polling on our political process continues to be one of the... more

:) manages $9 billion hedge fund
:) involved in shady peruvian / congolese financing,
:) electoral college rigging
:) batting 1.000
I sure hope some of the dem cands also have team players like Paul Singer.
"...Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic Party, questioned ?Paul Singer?s involvement in this dirty trick aimed at stealing the White House
The vitriol directed at Mr. Singer reflects the intense passions being stirred by efforts to change the California law, which could alter the nation?s electoral map to favor Republicans and Mr. Giuliani
Such a change could give Republicans as many as 20 more electoral votes
Mr. Singer describes himself as a libertarian conservative dating to the Barry Goldwater days"

Focus group yes! We need to focus on facts and spread them while we can. America is moving along to war with Iran, in plain sight. Unfortunately, mainstream media of yesteryears is gone. We need voices today! Stop the madness. War with Iran is not something that should be discussed, while diplomacy sits on the sidelines. Where are our leaders? Unless the individuals who are perpetuating the war retoric has somewhere to hide if World War III is started, they better get their but's to the front line of diplomacy. If we get into World War III, no signs will be passed out for them, to protect them and their families from the effects of War. There will be no flowers! It won't be quick! It wouldn't be easy! Great article which 'Speaks for Me'. I have been trying to say it for months and today I read it. It was music to my ears. Oh, the things that could have been? The othe Democratic candidates are good, but I don't just want a winner, I want a Leader! A candidate that was 'Speaking for Me', not 'speaking to me'! Maybe someday? On November 5, Republican candidate for President, Congressman Ron Paul of Texas' 14 District achieved the incredible. His supporters raised 4.2 million dollars over the internet in 24 hours and his current goal of 12 million in this quarter seems easily attainable. Yet until this mass outpouring of support in the form of cold cash by over 30,000 individual donors the main stream media would not take his campaign seriously and he has been continuously overlooked by the status quo wing of the GOP.
Who is this man and how did he become so popular? What is his message and why does it resonate so powerfully with his base which is largely made up of internet savvy yet ideologically dissimilar people of all walks of life?
A brief overview of Paul's record yields the following courageous and completely independent voting record:
* He voted against the Iraq war.
* He has never voted to raise taxes.
* He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
* He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
* He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
* He voted against the Patriot Act.
* He voted against regulating the Internet.
* But, he's also voted against impeaching Dick Cheney and has abstained from voting against or for HR 1955: Violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism bill, that essentially can be used to wipe out the Bill of Rights.
This week we will discuss Mr Paul, his platform, his chances of winning the nomination (if any) and what his candidacy means to his supporters who are arguably the most passionate and motivated of any on either side of the race.
