Why hasn't a cure for cancer been found? We have poured billions upon billions of dollars into cancer research, and yet cancer rates continue to explode. Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide, and according to the World Health Organization the number of cancer deaths globally is expected to nearly double over the next 20 years. So why is this such a problem? We have spent gigantic piles of money and have had hordes of scientists working on this for decades. Every year there are countless walks, runs and fundraisers for cancer research. The U.S. government absolutely showers cancer researchers with cash. We are supposed to be the most "advanced" civilization that the world has ever seen. So where is the cure for cancer? And why does cancer keep getting worse? Why hasn't a cure for cancer been found? We have poured billions upon billions... more

I know that I'm not the only person in America who's had cancer attack a large number of family members. The only thing that "modern" medicine was able to do was irradiate and poison my family members into a miserable existence where nothing was enjoyable. They all eventually beat cancer but they were undoubtedly a little worse for the wear. One lost a lung, another had his knee replaced with titanium and plastic and yet another still lives with a plastic plate in his head(the result of an exploratory surgery for a brain tumor).
To imagine the possibility that my family members could have been cured of their cancers by taking some oil made from cannabis....well, it's pretty f#cII know that I'm not the only person in America who's had cancer attack a... more

Australian scientists have found that antibodies in shark blood could potentially be a potent weapon in the fight against cancer.
Sharks have immune systems similar to humans, but their antibodies - the molecules which actually fight disease - are exceptionally resilient.
Researchers believe this quality could be harnessed to help slow the spread of diseases such as cancer.
Potentially, it could lead to a new generation of drug treatments.
The Australian team found that shark antibodies can withstand high temperatures as well as extremely acidic or alkaline conditions.
Gut
This means they would potentially be able to survive in the harsh environment of the human gut, which is crucial to the development of a cancer-fighting pill.
Associate Prof Mick Foley from Melbourne's La Trobe University said the shark molecules can also attach themselves to cancer cells and stop them spreading.
"The cells actually grow less than where we don't add a shark antibody or we add a completely irrelevant shark antibody," he said.
"So this indicates the shark antibody that we have is binding to those cancer cells and for some reason causing them to grow more slowly and perhaps even killing them."
Sharks were chosen for the project because they have robust immune systems and rarely succumb to infections.
There is already evidence that their antibodies can slow the spread of breast cancer.
But it is also hoped that they could eventually be used to treat other conditions, such as malaria and rheumatoid arthritis.

We (TWODEE) are asking for your support. We are running the Anchorage marathon to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This is something we do every year and this year we are working with our friend Maryellen to raise $50,000 for a cancer research grant. Please take a few minutes to watch Maryellen's story in the thread below. If you are not in a position to donate at this time, please pass this link along to others so that together we can find a cure for cancer.
Thank You,
Debrianna and David

Ayurvedic medicine has existed in India for generations, it is the 100% natural, chemical free form of healing through herbal remedies and treatement focused around your body healing itself without chemical aid. Many doctors , although having qulified in western medicine choose to trade in and practice Ayurvedic medicine instead as its reputation for sucess far outweighs any potential drawbacks. Although laughable, this article claims cow urine can actually be well on its way to curing cancer (although it does conclude by saying that further studies need to be made!) Jokes aside having been under first hand care of Ayurvedic treatment I am a firm believer! Ayurvedic medicine has existed in India for generations, it is the 100% natural,... more

Sunbeds and sunbathing have been highlighted in new NHS proposals to raise awareness of "lifestyle" causes of cancer. The emphasis on risks is part of a £370 million five-year Government strategy for battling the disease. Among preventative measures are plans to consult on banning the sale of tobacco in vending machines, reducing cigarette displays in shops and a fresh look at cigarette packaging.
I don't think that highlighting risky behaviour is a necessarily new or innovative approach to discouraging us from partaking in activities that may increase our risk of cancer. Perhaps they are going to do so more aggressively. Sunbeds and sunbathing have been highlighted in new NHS proposals to raise awareness... more

Scientists are trying a new non-invasive technique for killing cancer cells: bursting bubbles. They have built a device that generates bubbles at the site of a cancerous tumour. When these bubbles pop, they release energy as heat, thus killing rogue cells. It's non-surgical and limits the damage to healthy tissue that occurs in radiotherapy. This is fascinating!Scientists are trying a new non-invasive technique for killing cancer cells: bursting... more
