There was some sort of disconnect in the control room, and some might say that this is an easy, slam-dunk indictment against Fox News’ ineptitude, but I would disagree.

The LIBOR (London Interbank Offered Rate) interest rate scandal is a growing situation that shows the amount of corruption festering at the core of our financial system – as if we needed another reminder of that corruption after the financial meltdown of 2008. But it’s also a reminder that the financial markets and institutions are grossly under-regulated and in need of serious reform.

Reporting from the New Hampshire primary, Fox News's Carl Cameron observed that Bain Capital was "the venture capital company in which [Romney] both bought and grew companies and occasionally shut a few down."
But Bain Capital is not, as Cameron said, a venture capital firm. He wasn't the only reporter to mislabel Bain, either. When Newt Gingrich first ramped up attacks on Romney as a "corporate raider" at Bain, the news media covered the attacks by referring to the company alternately as a...Reporting from the New Hampshire primary, Fox News's Carl Cameron observed that... more

MEDIA ALERT: = THE NEWS YOU DON'T SEE IN THE USA !!!!
Today our television media news in the USA is a joke - The News coverage to the American people is nonexistent causing it's population to argue nonsense topics amongst themselves... Blinded with nonsense, and fueled with distractions it is easy to divide a population and control a population.
It should be a wake-up call: When the people outside of our US borders know more about what happening inside our country than it's own citizens do.... Then we should all realize that we have a big problem! The Main stream Media ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC & FOX...all design what news you watch and listen to.
The insert a large amount of "Fluff Stories" and edit out many topics = NOT reported and NOT broadcast.
The citizens have lost their independent media... The Media has been taken over and is controlled by Corporations .... The Corporations decide what you hear in the news...
QUESTION: Why do you think Julian Assange & Wilkleaks was targeted and Attacked and insulted by the media? Because if the media were doing their jobs... Wikileaks wouldn't have any secrets to leak! The media is not doing their jobs.
( I work in the news media = I know!)
AMERICA TODAY.... Time to Follow the Money!
As we all now all look around us... Look at all the hard working American families all being foreclosed on and forced out into the streets as the Corporate Royalty award Billions to themselves as; A Job Well done! 1.3 million more foreclosures scheduled in 2011 to come! Look at all of us today....We all sit fighting between ourselves for only the basic fundamental things in life like affording to buy (safe food to eat), healthcare, a warm place to live to sleep at night....or an affordable good education for our Children....
If we are fighting amongst ourselves.....We all don't see that all we are only fighting for the crumbs left after the 98% of our countries wealth has been stolen and hoarded by the ultra Wealthiest 2-3%.... I guess that is the plan....if we are so busy arguing with ourselves we are not looking up and seeing what is really going on.... Maybe it time we all look up and ~ Follow the Money!
Okay now what?
So now we all go back to sleep? Back to business as usual & doing nothing?
Doing nothing is stupid!
Doing something is courageous...
WIKILEAKS IS A WAKE-UP CALL !!!
Wikileaks is a global "Virus Protection Software" that has shown all of us that our systems are infected.... That there is a trojan virus running in the background - doing things against the interests of the People of the Country that the government is mandated to represent.
This is a real wake-up call for people everywhere.... that Corporations have taken over all our government systems... Stealing all our freedoms and making us slaves of their corporate system.
LEARN FROM HISTORY.....
Mussolini quote: " Fascism should be appropriately called Corporatism because of a merger of State & Corporate Power."
That is what is going on here...
This is a wake-up call for everyone.. and
Wikileaks is the Alarm Bell !!!
Truth is courageous...MEDIA ALERT: = THE NEWS YOU DON'T SEE IN THE USA !!!! Today our television... more

Press Release: Controversial book questions the role of the news media in the outcome of the 2008 electionsLittle Rock, AR, USA—December 10, 2009—On the anniversary of the 2008 General Election, author Mark A. Anderson releases a controversial and thought provoking book titled, In the Tank—A Bound Blog: How the Media Political Machine Used Conveyance of Toxic Information to Become the Latest Political Force to be Reckoned With. In his premier title, Anderson takes a critical and in-depth look at the questionable tactics used by the most prominent of the American news media to both openly support as well as hinder candidates involved in the race to become the nation’s 44th President.
Political junkies, pundits, and scholars alike will enjoy the compelling arguments and points of discussion raised as Mark shares his personal blog posts, citing brazen bias and extreme irregularities in the manner of media coverage provided to candidates during the height of the 2008 primaries and leading up to the general election.
Anderson declares, “By actively engaging in a clandestine campaign to put a drag on and derail the campaigns of several of the ’08 election season’s top candidates…..the news media freely exercised a power and authority over the election process never before witnessed by the nation’s citizens.” Anderson provides numerous indisputable cases of blatant bias against some presidential candidates, and unabashed favor for others to the point that a significant effect on outcome of several primary elections and perhaps even the general election itself cannot be denied.
In the Tank—A Bound Blog, confronts the reality of a rogue media that has traveled far from its original and charted course and threatens the very foundation of a government of and for the people. “The uninhibited audacity that the most prominent agents and organizations within the news media community displayed while openly campaigning for and against candidates and their campaigns….reflected the determination of a once trustworthy pillar of this society to wrestle the reins from the hands of the people and exercise supreme authority over our country’s national election process,” Anderson contends. The book is written like a running blog with thoughtful essays throughout that expound upon the most critical points of this contribution to the analysis of the democratic election process. The purpose of the book is to promote the sustainment of independent thought and freedom as well as to expose the dishonorable actions of the nation’s news media during the most recent presidential election.
MARK A. ANDERSON is a native of central Arkansas, and currently resides in Oklahoma. He earned both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in history and political science respectively. He is a commissioned officer in the United States Armed Forces who served faithfully in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is the recipient of both the Bronze Star Service and Joint Service Commendation Medals for his wartime service.

Today 56 newspapers in 45 countries take the unprecedented step of speaking with one voice through a common editorial.
We do so because humanity faces a profound emergency.
Unless we combine to take decisive action, climate change will ravage our planet, and with it our prosperity and security. The dangers have been becoming apparent for a generation. Now the facts have started to speak: 11 of the past 14 years have been the warmest on record, the Arctic ice-cap is melting and last year's inflamed oil and food prices provide a foretaste of future havoc. In scientific journals the question is no longer whether humans are to blame, but how little time we have got left to limit the damage. Yet so far the world's response has been feeble and half-hearted.
Climate change has been caused over centuries, has consequences that will endure for all time and our prospects of taming it will be determined in the next 14 days. We call on the representatives of the 192 countries gathered in Copenhagen not to hesitate, not to fall into dispute, not to blame each other but to seize opportunity from the greatest modern failure of politics. This should not be a fight between the rich world and the poor world, or between east and west. Climate change affects everyone, and must be solved by everyone.
The science is complex but the facts are clear. The world needs to take steps to limit temperature rises to 2C, an aim that will require global emissions to peak and begin falling within the next 5-10 years. A bigger rise of 3-4C -- the smallest increase we can prudently expect to follow inaction -- would parch continents, turning farmland into desert. Half of all species could become extinct, untold millions of people would be displaced, whole nations drowned by the sea. The controversy over emails by British researchers that suggest they tried to suppress inconvenient data has muddied the waters but failed to dent the mass of evidence on which these predictions are based.Today 56 newspapers in 45 countries take the unprecedented step of speaking with one... more

Criminal charges will be laid in the case of a Colorado boy who was reported to have been carried away in a homemade helium balloon, the Larimer County sheriff said Saturday.
Jim Alderden didn't say what the charges would be, but he did say the six-year-old boy's parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, were not under arrest.
Late Saturday night, three Larimer County sheriffs showed up at the Heene home with a warrant and began searching the building.
Alderden previously said that if the balloon ordeal was a hoax, the parents could be charged with making a false report to authorities, a low-level misdemeanour.
"We were looking at Class 3 misdemeanour, which hardly seems serious enough given the circumstances," Alderden said Saturday.
"We are talking to the district attorney, federal officials to see if perhaps there aren't additional federal charges that are appropriate in this circumstance."
He said deputies were seeking a search warrant for the family's home, and there would be more information at a news conference Sunday.
The Heenes spent much of the afternoon at the sheriff's office and were headed home where they were expected to speak to reporters.
Richard Heene has insisted that the drama that unfolded Thursday wasn't a publicity stunt. He and his wife reported that their son, Falcon, had been inside the flying-saucer shaped balloon when it launched from their backyard.
About five hours later, Falcon was found safely at home, hiding in the rafters of his family's garage in Fort Collins, after the escaped balloon travelled more than 80 kilometres while being followed on live television.
Word of the impending charges was an about-face for Alderden, who previously said authorities had no proof the family was carrying out a hoax and that their reactions during the time the balloon was airborne appeared genuine to seasoned investigators.
He later said that he wanted to re-interview the family after Falcon said, "We did this for a show" in an interview with CNN on Thursday night. Falcon also got sick during two separate TV interviews when asked why he hid.
The Heenes are storm chasers who twice appeared in the ABC reality show Wife Swap. They said they were conducting an experiment with the craft that involved allowing it to rise about six metres off the ground in their backyard where it was tethered, but it came loose and floated away.
Military aircraft, including a Black Hawk helicopter that costs more than $4,600 US an hour to operate, participated in the rescue efforts for about three hours. Departures at Denver International Airport were briefly halted and air traffic controllers rerouted planes in the area.Criminal charges will be laid in the case of a Colorado boy who was reported to have... more
Talk like a communist, walk like a democrat. That has been the paradoxical strategy pursued by Latin America's new radical left - at least until now. Venezuelan President Hugo ChÁvez will gush effusively in the presence of Fidel Castro one moment, then just as earnestly he'll remind the world that he submits to the kind of free elections and free speech that Castro and his brother, Cuban President RaÚl Castro, still forbid.
But in recent months, ChÁvez and his allies from Argentina to Nicaragua have taken steps that critics say make them walk too Cuban for comfort - especially when it comes to independent media, an institution critical to the region's modernization. ChÁvez's socialist Bolivarian Revolution recently revoked the broadcast licenses of 32 private radio stations and two television stations - it plans to take more off the air soon - and just passed a sweeping and often vague new education law outlawing media material that "produces terror in children" or "goes against the values of the Venezuelan people."
More at the link.
