Doug Savant’s real wife, Laura Leighton, is floating lifeless in the pool over at Fox’s new “Melrose Place.”
Meanwhile, his TV wife, Felicity Huffman on ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” is expecting twins—again—and his character, Doug Scavo, a man whose sperm definitely swim, is in the doghouse—again—for that and so many other reasons.
AUDIO EXCERPT: “There’s a picture in Entertainment Weekly, the fall television preview, where (my wife, Laura Leighton, star of ‘Melrose Place”) is kissing Thomas Calabro playfully on the cheek. And I gotta tell you, I don’t like it! Nope! I want her kissing me, not somebody else. I love her enough to be a little possessive!”
Is it any wonder the man is choosing to hide out here, on Mr. Media Radio, for the next 15 minutes, to talk about the importance of Listerine, good dental hygiene, fresh breath, and a book of laughs?

Video advertisements will appear in an upcoming print edition of Entertainment Weekly. Yes, that's right, an advert containing moving images and, presumably, sound will be in a paper magazine!
How will this extraordinary feat be achieved? Well there's a small, thin, LCD display - with a resolution of 320x240 pixels (pretty standard for mobiles these days) - a chip that can store 40 minutes worth of video and a battery that lasts up to 70 minutes (and can be recharged by mini-USB).
How much does this all cost? Who knows - but the BBC has excelled at pointing out the obvious with this gem...

In Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant (out Oct. 23), Hayek costars as Madame Truska, the hirsute woman in a traveling freak show and girlfriend of the titular vampire (John C. Reilly). The fantasy, based on the popular young-adult books, follows a boy (Chris Massoglia) who becomes an apprentice to Reilly’s vamp. Hayek’s character sprouts whiskers every time she gets passionate with her boyfriend. “So she needs to be very comfortable with herself, which Salma really is in real life,” says director Paul Weitz (About a Boy). “I thought, of all people to have that problem, she’d be an interesting one.” Check out the EW issue on stands now for this and more First Looks, including one of Lucy Lawless in the sexy new TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

On this edition of Critic Critic, the Daily Fix turns to its very own puffed up blowhard, Peter Grumbine to get his take on the "comebacks" of 2008. After years of non-existence, New Kids on the Block reunited and released their new album, "The Block." Robert Plant re-surfaced, this time with Alison Krauss, not Led Zeppelin. Ike Turner tried to make a comeback, but went away instead. Axl Rose spent 14 years on his comeback, and released Chinese Democracy this year. Britney Spears attempted a comeback last year, but is reeling in the attention with her newest album, "Circus."
The Daily Fix is the first music blog on TV airing on Current TV. The 2-minute daily music news show delivers cutting edge music news and insightful opinion in compelling short doses, utilizing MP3's and user-generated video from all over the web. Hosted by Douglas Caballero, the show airs daily at 9:31am, 1:31pm, 5:31pm, 8:31pm, 12:31am, 4:31am Eastern Time and can be found online at current.com/dailyfix.On this edition of Critic Critic, the Daily Fix turns to its very own puffed up... more
