For many people, a smart phone also doubles up as a personal information management (PIM) tool. A typical smart phone is expected to have at least an address book, a calendar, email storage and the ability to configure alerts and reminders. This table is meant to compare the PIM synching capabilities of different smart phone OS’s across different platforms and different email clients.

In case you hadn’t noticed, Google’s Android OS has a lot of momentum right now. With eight Android smart phones available in the U.S. this holiday season—most of them new–there’s a lot of excitement around this open and highly customizable platform. But there’s a difference between the stock Android interface on devices like the new Motorola Droid, and others like the HTC Hero and Droid Eris (Sprint and Verizon) and Motorola CLIQ (T-Mobile).
That difference is a custom user interface that delivers more screens for you to customize and smarter ways of managing contacts and tapping into your social networking feeds. HTC calls its experience Sense, while Motorola dubs its service Motoblur. But what kinds of features do these skins on steroids offer, and how do they compare to the stock Android 2.0 OS? In an interview with Laptop Magazine, Steve Andler, vice president of marketing for Networks in Motion (makers of VZ Navigator and Gokivo for iPhone), says that Google has burned GPS software makers by rolling their features into software updates.
"...Google is attacking the most profitable part of the mobile software development community. Clearly, they can call Android an open platform, but we all know that that’s a bunch of hooey. They completely control and own it. While people can make changes on top of it, the reality is what’s going to be in Android 3.0 and 4.0 is totally and completely controlled by the warchest at Google."

We limit the combined total dollar amount of item-labeled produce that any single grower can sell under our two item labels to less than $1 Million US dollars annually. This is our small effort to even the playing field between larger and smaller farms. Research shows that larger farms, particularly those with annual revenues in excess of $1 Million per year have a significant competitive advantage as compared to small family farms. Top 10 Produce LLC will invite socially conscious consumers to play a role by alerting the consumer that our brand provides a strategic advantage in favor of smaller farms, and by reminding buyers that we only license independent growers. 100% of our items have a transparency enabling barcode.
This item level barcode will be scanned by mobile phones to tell the consumer about the farmer, whether the produce is locally grown (including a map showing the location of the farm as compared to their current location based on their cell phone's GPS ), and anything else the consumer is interested to know about that produce item. Consumer reviews of fresh produce will be available to shoppers and chefs alike.
Suggestions are encouraged and welcome, so please share thoughts, concerns, criticisms and questions. We are listening carefully. We limit the combined total dollar amount of item-labeled produce that any single... more
The iPhone crushing operating system is racing ahead with version 2 already officially announced. Expect a lot of cool new features:
"It's official, the Android 2.0 SDK is now available to developers. One notable feature is Quick Contact, which "pulls up every possible way to ping somebody when you touch their icon -- can be built into any app too." Video after the break.
Seriously, there's all kinds of improvements: Searchable SMS, Exchange support, more in-depth camera controls, a better keyboard with full multitouch, a revamped browser with a better UI and HTML5 support, and it goes on."The iPhone crushing operating system is racing ahead with version 2 already officially... more
