petrobras just found more oil
"Brazil's state oil company, Petroleo Brasileiro (nyse: PBR - news - people ), led the index higher after reporting that it found a giant light crude oil reserve underneath an offshore salt field. The company said initial studies indicated about 5 billion to 8 billion barrels of oil and natural gas may be recovered from the site. Petroleo Brasileiro's shares rose $24.03, or 25.9 percent, to $116.77 and reached an all-time high of $119.16 earlier."
