I love the show Firefly. I can't tell you how many times I've seen the show. Since we own the DVDs we watch them over and over and over... I thought I was pretty knowledgable about the 'Verse. Turns out there are a least 18 things I didn't know.

As we bid a sad adieu to Stargate: Universe, a lot of fans feel a bit betrayed and, yes, angry that another really fine SciFi show has been thrown onto the dust heap of time ... again. *Sigh*. In this open letter, the "SyFy" channel tries to defend its actions. I don't know, what do you guys think?

You don't hear them here because Gene Roddenberry decided not to use them. This article says why.

The rim of the star-light
My love

I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me

It is so much fun to watch these two interact...and very touching, too.
"Before Jonathan Frakes & Marina Sirtis reminisce about their days on Star Trek: The Next Generation, they discuss the idea of a sitcom revolving around the Rikers."

I've been finding it funny how so many commenters have assumed that what is going on in Lost is derived from a Judeo-Christian mythos. Here is another take on the mysteries of Lost and another reason why I love this show.

Barry Letts, the producer of Doctor Who from 1970 to 1974, died at the age of 84. He was responsible for introducing Buddhist themes and ideas to the series during the Jon Pertwee era, and also cast Tom Baker as the fourth Doctor. I will always think of his strange, wonderful moment in the Doctor Who And The Daemons novelization, where the Doctor is driving along in Bessie (his yellow roadster) and bursts into song. Jo asks the Doctor why he's singing, when the world is about to end and everything is doomed. The Doctor replies that the world might end tomorrow, but for now, the sun is shining and he's singing.
Letts' involvement with the series continued for the rest of his life, including stepping back in as executive producer during the end of Baker's era, and producing audio plays starring Jon Pertwee in the 1990s. He will be missed.Barry Letts, the producer of Doctor Who from 1970 to 1974, died at the age of 84. He... more

Popular British kids show Blue Peter is hosting a contest calling for children in the UK to submit their original TARDIS designs for production. We're hoping this means that Matt Smith's Doctor is tinkering with the ship's Chameleon Circuit.
The contest is only open for children in the UK, and only those agde 6-12. The lucky child with the winning design gets to meet the Doctor Who cast and crew, and perhaps best of all gets to help oversee production of the design.
The re-design is specifically for the TARDIS console - not, sadly, for the outer appearance of the ship as well. The winning design will be used in a new upcoming episode of the show. We're curious to see how they work this in and even more curious to see the TARDIS console as designed by a ten-year-old.Popular British kids show Blue Peter is hosting a contest calling for children in the... more

I just saw the first two episodes of Flash Forward this morning and I think it's not bad. The effects were good. The characters need some work though. I don't really like anyone yet. But it's good enough to keep watching for a few more episodes to see how it gets. Who knows this could be THE scifi show of the season. It's sure as hell better than Defying Gravity.I just saw the first two episodes of Flash Forward this morning and I think it's... more

He reveals some surprises about the original ending for his character, Helo, in BSG. IMHO, I think the ending of BSG bit the big wazoo. The worse part was the denouement. I mean what where they thinking?
Hopefully Dollhouse will go better this season. It always seems to take Joss Whedon a while to get things going. He usually doesn't disappoint. I'm crossing my fingers. I have Faith (Hey, that's a pun!)He reveals some surprises about the original ending for his character, Helo, in BSG.... more

Stargate Universe seems like a dirtier, gritter entry to the SG francise. I'm hoping for a stronger show with more depth. Though I will miss the campiness, the francise was due for an upgrade.
