With the MPs' verdicts, what are your opinions on the NotW phone hacking scandal?
The Guardian reports on the MP reactions to a report which highlights the amount of 'phone hacking' the News of World used. Many of the MPs struck the NotW for a 'collective amnesia' to the amount of staff using hacking for stories.
The article goes to say that The Culture, Media and Sport select committee heavily criticized the police for not furthering their previous investigations at NotW when they investigated reports of phone hacking by royal reporter Clive Goodwin.
With Lib Dem MP Chris Huhne calling for a judicial inquiry, and cabinet minister, Ben Bradshaw saying the, "report raised "extremely serious questions" for the Murdoch empire.", Murdochs' News International reacted by questioning, "the credibility of the committee and accused it of pursuing a "party political agenda"."
In the article, the Guardian presents cases of its own findings into the NotW hacking issues, when they report a "revelation last July that the News of the World had secretly paid out £1m in costs and in settlements to Gordon Taylor"

Butterflying Phelps is just latest celebrity scalp for ‘News of the World’
Forget well-respected names like The Independent, Guardian, or The Times. News of the World, with its weekly offering of showbiz gossip, topless models, and sport draws some 3 million readers, making it the most widely read Sunday newspaper in the United Kingdom.
Its calling card has been the type of “gotcha” exclusives that the paper broke Sunday by publishing a photograph of US Olympic swimming sensation Michael Phelps smoking a marijuana water pipe at a student party.
Owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, its reporters regularly hand over large sums of money to secure the right scoop – be it embarrassing pictures or titillating “kiss and tell” interviews with jilted lovers - and the Phelps picture is likely to have been worth tens of thousands of dollars if money changed hands, media watchers say. The paper proudly proclaims its desire to pay for such items, with a prominent tab on its homepage that offers “BIG money for BIG exclusives.”

After all the damage has been done, "Woman E" the girl who filmed Max Mosley in an orgy to sell the tape to News of the World has said sorry!
"It was never talked about that it was going to be a Nazi scene, we just had confirmation to say that it was going to be a German prison scenario," she said in an interview with Sky News.
