Cartoon Network Enterprises announced that it has opened dedicated boutiques in Toys“R”Us stores nationwide, highlighting three of Cartoon Network’s most popular boys properties. The Cartoon Network-branded boutiques feature products from the Ben 10 Alien Force, Bakugan and The Secret Saturdays brands and will be open throughout November.
“Toys”R”Us continues to be a terrific, long-standing retail partner for us and our brands, and we are proud to showcase this chain-wide Cartoon Network retail destination as we kick off the holiday shopping season,” said Christina Miller, SVP CNE. “The unique, multi-category shopping experience we have created is guaranteed to generate strong excitement around our brands and the must-have products from our licensing partners.”

Additionally, the boutique will be supported by promotional email blasts from Toysrus.com, and graphics that bring Cartoon Network’s brands to life for shoppers.

Controversial TV host Lou Dobbs announced today that he was leaving CNN and would soon be joining the primetime lineup of The Cartoon Network.
Mr. Dobbs will be joining a schedule that includes such programs as Tom and Jerry and What's New, Scooby-Doo?
While a press release from The Cartoon Network called Mr. Dobbs' show "a perfect fit," Davis Logsdon, the chairman of the media studies department at the University of Minnesota, took a dimmer view.
"I think the addition of Lou Dobbs will be a tremendous blow to the Cartoon Network's credibility," he said. More here.Controversial TV host Lou Dobbs announced today that he was leaving CNN and would soon... more

Cartoon Network is giving out a real life watch from the Ben 10 series. No it doesn't change you into a bunch of different aliens or what ever they are, but it is just a plain watch that looks a little like the original thing from the movies. It's a normal watch that displays the time and date. Surprisingly these little kids are screaming and crying all for this little piece of plastic. Well i can guess why. Their little child minds are too rotten to figure out its a piece of plastic that they'll break in the first 24 hours. The watch is just a toy to break and that is that.Cartoon Network is giving out a real life watch from the Ben 10 series. No it doesn't... more

Ted Turner, who founded CNN in 1980, is very displeased with the direction of the channel, and wants to buy it back. He says that he wants "less fluffy talk and more news". He criticized the channel's "pervert of the day" type stories and says if he were running it again, the channel would focus more on environmental and international news. In an somewhat unrelated comment, Turner also says that he wants to run "the Cartoon Network" again. It looks like Cartoon Network will be dropping the word 'cartoon' from its name in the not too distant future.
The American version of the cable network has already ditched toons in favour of reality shows with undrawn people in them as they struggle to compete against Disney and Nick (who both make a bundle more cash).
First Music Television stopped playing music, now Cartoon Network's stopping the toons. What's next, the Biography Channel showing shows about psychic investigators? Oh...It looks like Cartoon Network will be dropping the word 'cartoon' from its name in the... more

Cartoon Network made public its first massively multi-player online game (MMOG), Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall, at Comic-Con Int’l in San Diego. Many of the game's elements will be familiar to those who have previously played online role playing games (MMORPGs), such as World of Warcraft. Clan/guild play is an element in the game, designated by the term "clubs". The game also has large playable environments, though in order to aim the game at a younger audience, travel time is relatively short where playable content is concerned. Instead, adventures will be available almost anywhere in-game.
Once a design is established for an Avatar, it can have its clothes and weapon changed. Whether anything else can be changed is still unknown. Confirmed weapons are swords, guns, guitars, and projectiles.
A key part of the game are Nanos, or miniaturized versions of the CN characters. These characters are collectible and hover next to the player when called. Certain Nano's give certain powers, for instance Mojo Jojo helps a player run quickly, while Mandark makes a player jump higher. When on a mission a player may only take 3 Nanos, but when on a team, Nano's powers can be shared.Cartoon Network made public its first massively multi-player online game (MMOG),... more

Executive producer Chris Waldron demonstrates FUSION FALL, Cartoon Network's new MMOG, due out this fall.
This was done for the CINEFANTASTIQUE ONLINE website, and is my first attempt at using off-the-shelf, pocket digital equipment (an RCA EZ201, if you want to know) to create a piece. While there are obvious shortcomings in picture and sound, they're in some ways worth it for the spontaneity the technique provides.
REVISION: At the request of the producers, the inventory of nanos has been obscured.
As always, comments are invited. Executive producer Chris Waldron demonstrates FUSION FALL, Cartoon Network's new MMOG,... more

The new 'Star Wars' cartoon 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' will air on the Cartoon Network, after a fierce battle (er, Clone War?) among several networks. Thirty episodes are already in the can, and more are in production. A feature-length animated Star Wars movie is also in the works. No official word on when the Star Wars cartoon will start airing, but it's expected to make it's debut in the fall. Just to refresh your memory on how cool Star Wars can be animated, peep the late 70's Star Wars cartoon above, complete with baby Wookie. The new 'Star Wars' cartoon 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' will air on the Cartoon... more

Boston police arrested artist 'Zebbler' for installing L.E.D. devices that promoted Aqua Teen Hunger Force (after police mistook them for bombs). He's finally shared the real behind-the-scenes story about his arrest and release. He describes his interrogation ('My interrogator gave me nothing but carrots to eat') and remembers a surreal exchange with a police officer. ('My daughter is a huge fan of you ... So, did you really mean to blow up Boston?') Now his latest project is a cool high-definition/surround sound installation for an event called RIP.MIX.BURN.BAM.PFA.Boston police arrested artist 'Zebbler' for installing L.E.D. devices that promoted... more
