"And We have enjoined upon man to be kind to his parents; in pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth. The carrying of a child to his weaning is thirty months. At length, when he reaches the age of full strength and is forty years (old), he says, 'O my Lord! Grant me that I may be grateful for Your favors, that You bestowed me and upon both my parents; that I may do righteous deeds that are acceptable to You; and be gracious to me with regards to (my own) offspring. Surely, I turn to You repentant, and I wholly give myself (to You)." (Qur'an 46:15)
Mothers are accorded a special place of honor and respect in Islam.
A man once came to Prophet Muhammad and asked, "O Messenger of God! Who among the people is more worthy of my companionship?" The Prophet replied, "Your mother." Then man then asked who next, the Prophet replied "Your mother" again. The man repeated the question a third time and got the same answer. The man asked once again, "Who next?" Only then did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reply, "Your father."
These, and other references in the Qur'an and incidents from the life of the Prophet, clearly indicate the elevated status Islam has given to mothers. A Muslim sees a mother as an icon of strength and courage, tempered with compassion, kindness and love.

The first chapter, Some Evidence for the Truth of Islam, answers some important questions which some people ask:
* Is the Quran truly the literal word of God, revealed by Him?
* Is Muhammad 1 truly a prophet sent by God?
* Is Islam truly a religion from God?
In this chapter, six kinds of evidence are mentioned:
1) The Scientific Miracles in the Holy Quran: This section discusses (with illustrations) some recently discovered scientific facts mentioned in the Holy Quran, which was revealed fourteen centuries ago.
2) The Great Challenge to Produce One Chapter Like the Chapters of the Holy Quran: In the Quran, God challenged all human beings to produce a single chapter like the chapters of the Quran. Ever since the Quran was revealed, fourteen centuries ago, until this day, no one has been able to meet this challenge, even though the smallest chapter in the Quran (Chapter 108) is only ten words.
3) Biblical Prophecies on the Advent of Muhammad , the Prophet of Islam: In this section, some of the Biblical prophecies on the advent of the Prophet Muhammad are discussed.
4) The Verses in the Quran That Mention Future Events Which Later Came to Pass: The Quran mentioned future events which later came to pass, for example, the victory of the Romans over the Persians.
5) Miracles Performed by the Prophet Muhammad : Many miracles were performed by the Prophet Muhammad . These miracles were witnessed by many people.
6) The Simple Life of Muhammad : This clearly indicates that Muhammad was not a false prophet who claimed prophethood to attain material gains, greatness, or power.
From these six kinds of evidence, we conclude that:
* The Quran must be the literal word of God, revealed by Him.
* Muhammad is truly a prophet sent by God.
* Islam is truly a religion from God.
If we would like to know if a religion is true or false, we should not depend on our emotions, feelings, or traditions. Rather, we should depend on our reason and intellect. When God sent the prophets, He supported them with miracles and evidence which proved that they were truly prophets sent by God and hence that the religion they came with is true.
The second chapter, Some Benefits of Islam, mentions some of the benefits that Islam provides for the individual, such as:
1) The Door to Eternal Paradise
2) Salvation from Hellfire
3) Real Happiness and Inner Peace
4) Forgiveness for All Previous Sins.
The third chapter, General Information on Islam, provides general information on Islam, corrects some misconceptions about it, and answers some commonly asked questions, such as:

The backlash against gay rights in San Francisco turned ugly last week.
Young people from the Promised Land Fellowship Church on San Francisco's Market Street walked the few blocks up the street to the Castro district to prey for the homosexuals in San Francisco. In a self described "act of love" the christian youth asked god to forgive the gay community and "to turn back this evil".
Police reports indicate that no one was hurt. It was a loud, non-violent protest. Yet church leaders contended otherwise in a sermon posted on you tube. Homosexuals were portrayed by the church as a violent hateful mob numbering 500 that in actuality was 50. They also say that hot coffee was thrown in the face of a worshiper, yet news and police reports have yet to confirm these reports. The worshipers were escorted out of the Castro with a police escort for their protection.
Then leaders contend that the civil rights backlash across the nation from Proposition 8, (which rebuked the rights of gays and lesbians to marry) a breaking point in salvation for gays.
That somehow by fueling the flame of a slimly won anti-civil rights measure this church can sway the minds of the affected minority is laughable.

A prominent evangelical figure in the U.S. this week said Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin is a modern-day incarnation of the Biblical prophet, Deborah - primed to miraculously slay her nation's enemies on the battlefield.
Writing in his influential magazine, Charisma, editor J. Lee Grady likened the 44-year-old Alaskan governor to Deborah, the Old Testament prophet "who rallied God’s people to victory at a time when ancient Israel was being terrorized by foreign invaders."
Evangelicals who don't support Charisma worry that J. Lee Grady has not only embraced Sarah Palin as a prophet, but in 2005 heartily endorsed Todd Bentley, the disgraced B.C-based faith healer.
Bentley is the tattooed former criminal who last month stepped down from his controversial revival in Florida over an affair with a woman. Bentley, raised in Gibsons, B.C., is known to be a heavy drinker. During his ecstatic services he would often punch or kick sick people in the name of healing them.
Grady, however, remains highly enthusiastic about Palin, a Pentecostal who recently told a congregation that the U.S. war in Iraq reflected "God's plan."
As Grady wrote in this week's column, the gender of the Old Testament prophet Deborah "didn’t stop her from amassing an army; she inspired the people in a way no man could. She and her defense minister, Barak, headed to the front lines and watched God do a miracle on the battlefield."
In her song in Judges 5:7, Deborah declares: “The peasantry ceased, they ceased in Israel, until I, Deborah, arose, until I arose, a mother in Israel....
Sometimes it takes a true mother to rally the troops."
Sarah Palin often identifies herself simply as Christian.
Yet John McCain's running mate has deep roots in Pentecostalism and the Assemblies of God, a spirit-filled Christian tradition that is one of the fastest growing in the world. It's often derided by outsiders and Bible-believers alike.
Grant Wacker, an expert in Pentecostalism at Duke Divinity School in North Carolina, told the excellent U.S. religion writer Eric Gorski he can understand why.
