Zombieland was one of the most talked about films of last year. It was incredibly well-received amongst horror fans and movie critics alike. It even managed to receive a glowing review from me and made my top ten of last year. Even though the film only managed to bring in $75 million during its box office run, the original film contains enough ingredients to push it into cult classic status. So it should come to no surprise that a sequel may be on the horizon.
A sequel has been boiling ever since Zombieland brought in $25 million at the box office its opening weekend. Paul Wernick, one of the screenwriters for the film told MTV News:
"We would love it, and everyone involved creatively wants to do another one. Woody came up to us after the final cut of the last scene and gave us a hug and said, 'I've never wanted to do a sequel in the previous movies I've done until this one.' "
Actors Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg, screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, producer Gavin Polone, and director Ruben Fleischer would all be willing to return if and when a sequel was greenlit. Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin haven't been confirmed yet, but one would assume that talks would at least take place to try and get them back.
"It has lived in our heads for four-and-a-half years," Wernick said. "We developed it and wrote it as a spec TV pilot in the summer of 2005. We've got a long brainstorming document that still to this day gets updated on a near-weekly basis with ideas. We've got tons of new ideas swimming in our head."
It was later confirmed at the end of November of last year that Sony Pictures is interested in a 3D Zombieland sequel, but that it was still in the "talking stages" and that a script was yet to be written.
In January of 2010, Wernick and Reese officially signed on to write the sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. In addition to that, the two screenwriters have signed on to write the Deadpool film as well. Ryan Reynolds played Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, who eventually became Deadpool. Reynolds is expected to return for the solo Deadpool film. Wernick and Reese are also working on a sci-fi film called Earth Vs Moon that they hope Will Smith will star in and they at least wrote a draft for the Venom film, based on the Spider-Man villain.
In February, Wernick and Reese sat down with MTV News to talk about Zombieland 2. They discuss ideas for the sequel, a love interest for Tallahassee, and if we can expect any new characters to show up. You can check out that video below.
So it looks like we'll be getting a Zombieland 2 in 3D in a few years. It looks like Deadpool is getting Paul Wernick's and Rhett Reese's attention first, but it's still good to know that a sequel is at least planned at this point. The real question is if they can top the cameo they had in the first film. That was an unexpectedly great surprise, so I'm hoping they can think of another cameo that's just as entertaining as the one in the first film. If this much of the original cast is returning, then there's really no reason for this film to not be good. Coincidentally though, IMDb lists a 2011 release date for Zombieland 2.Zombieland was one of the most talked about films of last year. It was incredibly... more

Soccer Aid is a sporting event to raise money for UNICEF, where small donations can make a big difference in buying food and medicine for millions of children.
The two teams England and the Rest of the World is made up of celebrities and famous football players (usually retired)
"This year's players included celebrities such as Mike Myers and Woody Harrelson, and football legends Zinedine Zidane and Ryan Giggs."-UNICEF
The Captains were singer Robbie Williams (England) and actor Michael Sheen (Rest of the World). The game was a close one (2-2 at the final whistle) with some heated moments like fouls between the celebrities. Though it looked clear the Rest of the World tactic was to pass the ball to Zinedine Zidane and Ryan Gigs.
However, the match hit high when the game went to penalties, in a move fans will hope doesn't repeat for England at the World Cup this year. Nearly every celebrity scored at the shoot outs (where the game had put in celebrity goal keepers) but it was Woody Harrelson who gave the Rest of the World the winning goal against keeper Jamie Theakston.
"The real winner of the night is, of course, UNICEF, who you helped raise over £2million during the match. Thank you to everyone who has donated their money - you have made Soccer Aid a spectacular event and helped vulnerable children around the world."-ITVSoccer Aid is a sporting event to raise money for UNICEF, where small donations can... more

The Academy held its traditional luncheon for this year’s Oscar nominees at the Beverly Hilton – and what better opportunity for this sometime-actress to ask the world’s best actors about… acting.
Unlike Brett’s experience at the Oscar Nominations ceremony, it was pretty easy for me to snag a third row seat between a Japanese reporter and a freelancer for BET.
Yes! At my very first Oscar luncheon press conference, I, Ellen Fox, was going to geek out and gather the pearls of wisdom from what I saw as an impromptu Master Class – and for that, Woody Harrelson, I do apologize. First up was Gabourey Sidibe, who immediately loosened thing up by sassing:
After sharing that her role as a sexually-abused teen in Precious has inspired many people to confide in her, she was asked which of her scenes from the film she’d like shown at the Oscars:
Ah! Proof that Sidibe’s knack for humor is what saved Precious from becoming the downer we were expecting it to be. Then we swung from Sidibe's charm to the arrival of Certified Movie Star, Sandra Bullock. In person, she comes across way more savvy and Type-A (like her character in The Proposal) than America’s Sweetheart. I was surprised how candid she was talking about the business end of show biz:
Lee Daniels, director of Precious, was a love: emotional when fielding Frenchy questions about the power of art and ebullient when lauding the “bad-ass” actresses who brought the film’s classroom scenes to life:
Vera Farmiga looked the frickin’ Hollywood knockout in a blue dress, updo and red lipstick! There's talk of Madonna directing her in the role of Wallis Simpson. Here’s how she responded to my question about playing Up in the Air’s frequently frisky flyer, Alex:
Carey Mulligan popped in with a golden pixie cut a la Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby. She seemed relaxed but kept herself in check:
Jeff Bridges strolled in and the room, and probably the world, smiled. When I asked how he was able to make Crazy Heart’s country singer Bad Blake so toxic but so likeable, the word “adorable” just popped out, I swear!
Now, here’s what happened to Woody Harrelson when I decided to ask him about craft.
Now who wants Burrito?

Turns out director Joe Johnston wasn't satisfied with the same ol' same ol' to explain why Benicio Del Toro is waxing all hairy and toothy in The Wolfman. Nope, no simple stroll-on-the-moors, random-wolf-bite, go-wild-at-moonrise for Toro's Lawrence Talbot. Instead, a family curse has been thrown into the mix, all the better to generate a piquant sense of doom even before Larry manifests an irrepressible urge to howl.
The curse that trips its way through the branches of a family tree is a great means to get to an audience's gut. We are, after all, consigned to what we're handed by our forebears, and whether such inheritances stem from genetics or upbringing, most of us have a vested interest in seeing if a protagonist can escape his/her own destiny. Pushing into the background our own concerns over those pentagram-shaped birthmarks on our hips, we started checking out all the ways that filmmakers have managed to bequeath their characters the gifts that keep on giving (and that rank as a bit more dire than thinning hairlines or thickening bellies).
Here, then, we offer up Family Be Damned: Top 10 Cursed Movie Characters. Warning: You might want to consider DNA screening afterward:
