Current TV has partnered up with 'From Here to Awesome', a new discovery and distribution festival launching in April, 08 @ venues across the globe (seriously... we're talking France, UK, Israel, Australia, Mexico, Canada and the US here).
Here's what they say:
Have you made a film you think the world should see? FROM HERE TO AWESOME is a discovery and distribution festival that might be the perfect system to get your film blasted to audiences in theaters, living rooms, online and via mobile phones.
All filmmakers are welcome to be a part of the festival. There are NO submission fees, and filmmakers retain their rights while receiving revenue directly from the distribution outlets. A wide range of major promotional partners and distribution platforms are on board. All we need now is your film. Please submit ASAP to give the festival?s audience time to vote your film into the April Showcase.

The Gen Art Film Festival is an amazing week of film premieres spotlighting the most talented emerging North American independent filmmakers. The Festival offers a multi-genre slate of the New York Premieres of 14 exhilarating films, seven shorts and seven features; attended by tastemaker film-lovers, critics & industry professionals - each followed by one of seven soon-to-be legendary parties New York's most exclusive nightspots.
Full-festival passes will provide you with access to all seven nights of premieres and parties, and provide you with reserved seating at each film. Watch with the filmmakers and casts, then party with them after the premieres!

Current is partnering with Gen Art at their groundbreaking VANGUARD exhibition during Art Basel Miami Beach this year. If you'll be there, come by our booth to say hi and check out some incredible art from some of the top emerging talent in Urban Contemporary and Pop Surrealism.
The exhibition is free and open to the public, and there's also a great party on Friday night.;

Gen Art Miami invites guests to an unprecedented art exhibition during Art Basel complete with works from over 30 of the most widely recognized Urban Contemporary and Pop Surrealism artists from around the world, including paintings, sculptures and artist installations.
The exhibition, curated by Francesco Locastro and entitled ?No One Belongs Here More Than You? will be complemented by Miami artist, Lebo, who will unveil a Bombay Sapphire inspired sculpture installation and also present his newest series of works, entitled ?Infinite Echoes and Supersonic Soul Stories?.

Works from over 30 top pop-artists from Europe and the United States will be exhibited. Rooted in a vast array of styles, from pop surrealism and urban contemporary, the exhibition exemplifies global emerging art culture at its finest. There is a sense of common ground among the works and as diverse as they may appear, it embodies a sense of cohesiveness among artists who are the most vital part of the complex social structure of the 21st century, and thus truly push the envelope of visual perception as we know it.

To kick off Slamdance 2008, we want you to make and upload a short film about something that is relevant to you, your community or the world. The Slamdance programming committee - in conjunction with Current TVs Creative Executive team - will be curating five films into a theatrical screening at Slamdance, taking place during this years Slamdance Film Festival (January 17th to the 25th, 2008 in Park City, Utah).
