A New York Democrat asked Tuesday how long it would take for "The Apprentice" host Donald Trump to lose his job due to his flirtations with running for president.
Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) suggested that Trump, the real estate mogul and reality TV star, should be fired for running for president and the comments he's made while readying a possible campaign.
There is no law against stupid, but when is Comcast/NBC/Kabletown gonna fire Trump? #MaybeWeDoNeedSuchALaw
Trump's raised eyebrows for his work to prepare a presidential campaign, having appeared with some frequency in the media in recent weeks, partly to voice "birther" rumors that President Obama wasn't born in the United States.
But Trump's strategy appears to have worked; a CNN poll Tuesday showed him tied for first place in the race for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012. Last week, an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll had Trump tied for second.
It's not without precedent for formal candidates for office to lose their TV gigs, or at least compensation for their media appearances. Fox News ended its contracts with former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who were both contributors to the network, after judging that both were likely to run for president. (Fox has maintained contributor relationships, so far, with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.)
Former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.) was also forced to depart from his gig as a character on NBC's "Law & Order" in the summer of 2007, after he indicated that he would seek the Republican nomination in 2008.A New York Democrat asked Tuesday how long it would take for "The... more
For those of us who can't watch the US version of The Celebrity Apprentice this clip is perhaps even more hilarious. It's a Meatloaf that flips out on the has-been plastic surgery-gone-wrong actor Gary Busey, with that dude from Sugar Ray and some cowboy trying to calm the Meatloaf down.
Apparently Gary stole some of Meatloaf's art supplies. And clearly... you do not fuck with Meatloaf's art supplies.

Looks like the next series of the Apprentice comes with a new twist because a recent advert revealed the candidates this time are Junior Apprentices (oh noes, is this what Labour meant when promising more Apprentices for the unemployed youth)
In the show, the Juniors will take on six tasks with the aim to win £25,000 that will fund a business venture. This looks like another show by the BBC which is a mix of career reality tv shows and a young candidate age group.

A species of fish has been observed to possess similar traits to those of Lord Alan Sugar when dealing with the failures of subordinates.
Cleaner wrasse, which live on reefs, provide a valuable service by feeding on the parasites of ''client'' fish and it is the male wrasse in particular who will not accept failure.
Males have been observed to chase females seen to be not doing a good enough job, and this provides a rare example of third party punishment, one in which those doing the punishment are not directly affected by the misdeed themselves.
One explanation for this behaviour is that the act of "cheating" may drive clients away, something which the male cleaner wrasse are keen to avoid.

The BBC have announced that the replacement for Margaret Mountford on their hit show 'The Apprentice' will be Karren Brady. For fans as avid as myself, Margaret has been a permanent part of the show since it began 5 series ago. Although sad to see her go, she's pursuing her studies which she's wanted to do for years so good luck Margaret from me!
Fans of the show will recognise Brady as she's appeared on the show two or three times in the 'Interviews' episode for the past couple of seasons. She was also the team leader in one of the Comic Relief specials. Brady is no push over either as she chief executive of Birmingham City Football Club. I'm excited already and it doesn't even start for another six months or so! Is it just me?!The BBC have announced that the replacement for Margaret Mountford on their hit show... more
