The National Enquirer has unearthed all sorts of interesting facts about the night that Joran van der Sloot met and murdered his victim, 21 year-old Peruvian Stefany Flores. According to a private investigator for the family of Natalee Holloway, Van der Sloot was in Peru using money he extorted from the Holloway family days before.

Joran contacted a family rep by email and offered to reveal the location of Natalee’s body for $250, 000. The FBI set up a sting in a hotel room in Aruba on May 10, and after Joran was given a $10, 000 cash down payment by the Holloway rep, he flew to Colombia and then Peru. Peruvian authorities are pressuring Joran van der Sloot to give them information about the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in the wake of the Dutch playboy's reported confession that he murdered a 21-year-old Peruvian woman.
Police investigators told Lima's La Republica newspaper that van der Sloot's bombshell confession came late Monday night when he tearfully admitted that he grabbed Stephany Flores Ramirez by the neck when she began reading articles about him on the Internet.
"I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life," he told investigators, according to La Republica . "She had no right."
"I confronted her," he continued. "She was frightened, we argued and she wanted to get away. I grabbed her by the neck and I hit her."
Dave Holloway, Natalee Holloway's father, told "Good Morning America" today that search teams had been assembled in Aruba in case Peruvian investigators are able to glean any more information about the teenager's 2005 disappearance while on a school vacation.
"He's confessed to this one," Holloway said of Flores' death, "and I'd like for him to tell everyone what happened."
Holloway said he's been closely following the Flores case, calling it "deja vu."
"I would just like to say that you know all the pain and suffering that we've gone through, hopefully justice is served this time," he said.
Holloway also said he believed Beth Twitty, his ex-wife and Natalee Holloway's mother, was the only family member who knew about an alleged extortion plot involving van der Sloot that was under investigation when he was taken into custody for Flores' murder.

Van der Sloot confesses to murder, Peruvian authorities say
By the CNN Wire Staff
June 8, 2010 1:11 a.m. EDT
Lima, Peru (CNN) -- Joran van der Sloot could be formally charged as early as Tuesday in the killing of Stephany Flores Ramirez, Peruvian government authorities said.
Van der Sloot, who confessed to murder in the case on Monday, will likely be held at one of three maximum security prisons -- Castro Castro, Piedras Gordas and Lurigancho, authorities said.
At his first court appearance, the judge may set a hearing date for van der Sloot and could order additional investigations in the case.
The Peruvian justice system often issues a lighter sentence in cases where the suspect confesses. That may have influenced his alleged confession.
Van der Sloot could get up to 35 years in prison. There is no death penalty or life sentence in Peru.
A Peruvian police report leaked Monday said Flores was found in his hotel room on the floor, half-dressed. The report provides new details about the hours before Flores' body was found.
Van der Sloot, who was twice arrested in connection with the disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway in Aruba in 2005, is in Peruvian custody as a suspect in the killing of Flores, 21.
According to the document, the Hotel Tac, where van der Sloot was staying, received a call from someone looking for him about 11 p.m. June 1. The receptionist forwarded the call, but no one answered. The hotel worker assumed that van der Sloot was asleep because the room key was with him and not the front desk.
About an hour later, according to the police report, the receptionist noticed that van der Sloot owed money for two nights and went up to his room, where her knocks went unanswered. The television was blaring, so the hotel employee figured he was resting, the report says.
Afterward, the hotel supervisor told the employee to go back to van der Sloot's room and enter using a spare key. When the employee went in, she found Flores' body on the floor, dressed in a black T-shirt and red panties, half-covered with a piece of white clothing, the police report said.
Flores was bleeding from her nose, the report said.
The hotel employee became frightened at the sight and went to alert her supervisor and the police, turning off the television and lights on her way out of the room, the report said.

LIMA, Peru – Police in neighboring Chile are checking hotels for a young Dutchman long suspected in the 2005 disappearance of U.S. teen Natalee Holloway who is now being sought in the killing of a woman in Peru.
After Peruvian officials announced Wednesday that Joran van der Sloot is the prime suspect in the death of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel, Chilean police confirmed he had entered their country two days earlier.
Chilean Police Inspector Douglas Rodriguez in Arica told The Associated Press there was no record of van der Sloot leaving Chile and authorities were searching the country's dry, sparsely populated northern provinces for him.
In Lima, police Gen. Cesar Guardia said at a news conference that the slain woman was found Wednesday in a room at a hotel where van der Sloot had been staying and that she had been seen with the suspect early Sunday, when she was killed.
The killing occurred exactly five years after the May 30, 2005, disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway during a high school trip in Aruba, a Dutch Caribbean island where van der Sloot's late father was a prominent judge.
Prosecutors said van der Sloot is still their main suspect in the case even though he was never charged.
The Dutch government said Interpol issued an international arrest warrant for van der Sloot in the Peru killing. But Rodriguez, the Chilean police official, said authorities there had received only a request to locate the suspect, not an arrest warrant.
Guardia, the Peruvian police general, said the 22-year-old Dutchman was in Peru for a poker tournament and appears with the dead woman in a video taken at a Lima casino early Sunday. The two were later seen entering the hotel by one of its employees about 5 a.m. and the Dutchman departed alone about four hours later, he said.
"We have an interview with a worker at the hotel who says she saw this foreigner with the victim enter his room," said Guardia.
The woman's body was found face down on the hotel room floor Wednesday, abrasions on her face and body, and signs of trauma, Guardia said. He said she was clothed.
Asked if she had been asphyxiated, Guardia said he was waiting for autopsy results on the cause of death.

You all remember the long news coverage of the disappearance of American Student Natalee Holloway. After she vanished from her high school graduation party in Aruba, the investigation that followed really went no where, except to point overwhelmingly the justice finger at Joran Van der Sloot. Joran was never charged with a crime relating to her disappearance because there was not enough evidence.
However in a new turn of events, Joran is now a fugitive and prime suspect in a new homicide case. Stephany Flores was found dead in her hotel room in Peru on Monday. The police and homicide teams strongly believe do to the evidence found in the room that Joran; a dutch citizen, is responsible for the murder. Joran has fled from Peru and into neighboring Chile, making himself even more guilty; in terms of appearances are concerned. Peru has said that it will make use of international treaties to catch Joran and bring him to justice. Natalee Holloway Suspect Thai Sex Slave Trafficker?
Greta has something to do, now:
A suspect in the 2005 disappearance of an Alabama teen in Aruba is involved in selling Thai women into prostitution, a Dutch TV reporter claims.
Reporter Peter De Vries has made a second hidden-camera expose on Dutch student Joran Van der Sloot, who was believed to be with Natalee Holloway when she vanished while on a senior trip to Aruba. De Vries won an Emmy this year for another report on Van Der Sloot, 21, in which the student admits to dumping Holloway’s body after she suddenly began shaking and died as they were kissing.
De Vries’ latest report, which was shown Sunday night on Dutch television, shows Van der Sloot telling someone posing as a sex-industry boss that he can get passports for Thai women and girls who think they are going to the Netherlands to work as dancers, DutchNews.nl reported.
Van der Sloot makes about $13,000 for every woman sold into prostitution in the Netherlands, De Vries claims.
“The pictures show how little respect this 21-year-old has for the lives of others,” De Vries told a Dutch newspaper. “The fact that he goes into the trafficking of women after the disappearance of Natalee is typical of him.”Natalee Holloway Suspect Thai Sex Slave Trafficker?

Joran van der Sloot, the young man believed to be involved the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway on Aruba, is now involved in selling Thai women into prostitution, claims tv crime reporter Peter R de Vries.
De Vries won an Emmy for his tv report earlier this year in which Van der Sloot is caught on hidden camera talking about Natalee's body was dumped at sea. Holloway disappeared in 2005 and the case has never been officially solved.
Now De Vries has made a second report based on an undercover operation in Thailand, reports Friday’s Telefgraaf. The paper has seen a rough cut of the programme which is due to be shown on tv on Sunday night.
According to this latest exposé, Van der Sloot makes €10,000 for every girl he delivers to the Dutch prostitution market. The girls will work for ‘just 300 dollars a month’ he is reported as saying on camera.
During conversations taped in a hotel in Bangkok, Van der Sloot tells a man posing as a Dutch sex industry boss that he can organise visas and passports for the girls, who think they are going to the Netherlands to work as dancers.
De Vries tells the Telegraaf: ‘The pictures show how little respect this 21-year-old has for the lives of others. The fact that he goes into the trafficking of women after the disappearance of Natalee is typical of him… Making preparations for people smuggling is a crime. It could land him into big problems in Thailand.’

He said she and her friends had been drinking heavily and that some had been doing cocaine. Van der Sloot said he and Holloway had sex on the beach, but that afterwards, she started convulsing, and then was not responding to him. He said he used a pay phone to call a friend who had a boat, and then carried her body to the boat, where the friend took her body and dumped it overboard a mile offshore.

A former suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway threw wine in the face of a crime reporter after they appeared together on a Dutch television program.
Joran van der Sloot appeared on the late-night talk show Friday in what was billed as his last television interview about the case. Prosecutors in Aruba, where Holloway disappeared, have said they don't have enough evidence to charge him with a crime, although he remains a "person of interest" in what is now a cold case.
Van der Sloot, who denies any wrongdoing, appeared relaxed throughout the TV appearance, despite remarks from crime reporter Peter R. De Vries challenging his honesty.
At the end of the Pauw & Witteman program Van der Sloot and De Vries had a testy exchange about whether De Vries would apologize if evidence exonerating Van der Sloot came to light.
The live show ended, but NOS radio news reported Saturday that moments later, Van der Sloot threw a glass of wine in De Vries' face.
Photos taken by members of the studio audience and circulating on Dutch Web sites show Van Der Sloot throwing the wine.
Footage of the wine being tossed has not been broadcast on Dutch television. De Vries, Van der Sloot's Dutch lawyer and the show's producers could not immediately be reached for comment.
"This says something about Joran, of course," De Vries said in an interview with NOS radio broadcast Saturday.
"He doesn't have complete control over his behavior."
Show host Paul Witteman said Joran's action was "incomprehensible and incredibly stupid" because it undermines his credibility.
Holloway went missing on May 30, 2005, hours before she was to return home to Mountain Brook, Ala. She was on the final night of her school graduation trip to the island.
Van der Sloot and two other former suspects, brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, were seen leaving a bar with Holloway on the night of her disappearance.
They were questioned early in the investigation and again late last year before being released. All three deny involvement in Holloway's disappearance.
Prosecutors now say they cannot prove a crime was committed without a body, but that they believe Holloway is dead.
Extensive searches of the island turned up no trace of Holloway, who was 18 at the time of her disappearance.
Authorities in Aruba say the case against the three could be reopened if additional evidence surfaces. But if they were to go to trial now with virtually no hope of guilty verdicts, they would lose the opportunity to try them later if strong evidence emerges.
