What does the Hamas Charter Say?
1) The reason for Hamas aggression is, according to the group's charter, that every inch of modern-day Israel is "Islamic Waqf land given to all generations of Muslims until the Day of Resurrection." The charter states: "In this respect, it is like any other land that the Muslims have conquered by force, because the Muslims consecrated it at the time of the conquest as religious endowment for all generations of Muslims. . ." There is no avenue of compromise, no area of debate; for Hamas, the land of Israel is forfeit to Islam, forever.
2) "There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by jihad," says the charter.
3) "The hour of judgment shall not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them, so that the Jews hide behind trees and stones, and each tree and stone will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.' "

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, has criticized the administration of George Bush, the US president, saying the "American empire ... is reaching the end" in a speech at the annual UN general assembly.
In a confrontational speech on Tuesday in New York on Tuesday, he said: "The American empire in the world is reaching the end of its road, and its next rulers must limit their interference to their own borders."
He also said that Israel's "Zionist regime" was headed for collapse.
Addressing 120 world leaders, he said that Israel was manipulating Europeans and Americans.
"The Zionist regime is on a definite slope to collapse, and there is no way for it to get out of the cesspool created by itself and its supporters," he told delegates.
On the subject of Iran's nuclear programme, he said that Iran would "resist" Western bullies attempting to prevent the country acquiring civilian nuclear technology, which western nations are fearful could be used to develop nuclear weapons.
Referring to the US and its allies he said: "They oppose other nations' progress and tend to monopolize technologies and to use those monopolies in order to impose their will on other nations."
He said that Iran "will continue to defend its rights".

The bewildered herd is a problem. We've got to prevent their roar and trampling. We've got to distract them. They should be watching the Superbowl or sitcoms or violent movies. Every once in a while you call on them to chant meaningless slogans like "Support our troops."
You've got to keep them pretty scared, because unless they're properly scared and frightened of all kinds of devils that are going to destroy them from outside or inside or somewhere, they may start to think, which is very dangerous, because they're not competent to think. Therefore it's important to distract them and marginalize them.
