The G8 and G20 summits in Huntsville and Toronto are happening this weekend. Like any major political event, there are bound to be upset citizens that lead to protests. Considering the Government is spending $930,000,000 on security, and almost half a billion spent on RCMP officers alone, it's no surprise there are many unhappy Canadians. Many of us will be down in Toronto this weekend to participate in the G20 in one way or another. While I'm no expert on the political aspect of the summit, I will talk about the journalistic elements of this weekend.

Most people have a camera on their phone or certainly some sort of image-making device.
If you have a scanner, fast internet connection and permission from your subjects you can make money out of your pictures.
Photographers who provide 'stock' photographs (images that are commissioned for a commercial purpose) are worried because of the rising number of ordinary people selling their images. There's been a massive rise in the number of websites promoting this kind of thing one of which, 'Microstock', is discussed here.
