January is cold, bitter and gnerally an anti climax with the begining of a new year. The only exception is the opening of the Premier League transfer window.
Newly minted Manchester City look set to splash the cash with an unreasonable amount of money, players such as Wayne Bridge, Roque Santa Cruz and Kaka (yes all in the same sentence) have already been linked.
Kolo Toure has allegedly handed in a transfer request after a big bust up with defensive partner William Gallas.
Jermain Defoe is apparently eager to match up with Harry Redknapp at Spurs again.
With all these rumours floating around, which transfers can you see happening? Who would you like your team to buy?January is cold, bitter and gnerally an anti climax with the begining of a new year.... more

Following a horrific injury last season it would appear that Eduardo is now only weeks away from a return to the top flight.
There were fears for the Croatian's career after he suffered leg and ankle injuries at Birmingham on 23 February.
"He is joining in full training matches but he needs games now," said Wenger.
The news will come as a boost to Arsenal, who have beaten Chelsea and Manchester United recently but are eight points behind leaders Liverpool.
All well and good but until Arsenal get some back bone and show a little grit can they be considered serious title contenders?Following a horrific injury last season it would appear that Eduardo is now only weeks... more

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann says he may retire from football in protest at the standard of refereeing in Germany's Bundesliga.
The Stuttgart goalkeeper was unhappy after picking up his third booking for dissent this season.
"I may as well not bother playing in future. I didn't even say anything nasty to the referee," he said.
"Surely there are better ones. Things can't go on like this. It's sad for the whole of the Bundesliga."

Hey, maybe if we take a comprehensive look at global nuclear arms we might stand a better chance of avoiding the spread (and use!) of weapons of mass destruction. As it is in today's world if you're not building one you're just inviting abuse.

Luiz Felipe Scolari sounded an ominous warning to Chelsea’s Barclays Premier League rivals yesterday by claiming that his players have the potential to develop into the perfect team. The Chelsea manager even raised the prospect of emulating Arsène Wenger’s so-called “Invincibles” by going through the league campaign without losing a game – a feat achieved by Arsenal four years ago.
Chelsea are unbeaten in 12 matches in all competitions this season with tomorrow’s top-of-the table clash against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge looming, although Scolari believes that the best is yet to come from his side. The Brazilian led his country to their fifth World Cup triumph in 2002 and has won two Copa Libertadores titles – the South American equivalent of the Champions League – with Grêmio and Palmeiras, but is adamant that this Chelsea team is the equal of any that he has managed before.
“We’re unbeaten so far and have the potential to become the perfect team,” Scolari said. “I’ve worked with lots of great teams over the years and it’s difficult to say which is better, but this team I’m coaching now is the team that in training give me more happiness than I’ve ever experienced in my life. I’ve seen in this team passion and professionalism.
“I think it’s one of the best teams I’ve worked with in my life. Passion and professionalism are so important. Sometimes you need to give more to the team because you love this team. Sometimes professionalism is more important. In the future, I think I’ll have more of both and it’s possible to go through the league season undefeated. In some games maybe we could play better than we’ve played up to now. It’s possible to play better, but I’m satisfied with what I’ve seen so far. We’re training every day for this. Every day we correct things that are wrong. Maybe after a month, a week or a year, the players will be better.” Luiz Felipe Scolari sounded an ominous warning to Chelsea’s Barclays Premier... more

Dennis Bergkamp has revealed he would consider returning to England as a coach.
The 39-year-old former Arsenal striker retired from playing at the end of the 2005-06 season and has kept a low profile since.
However he has started a coaching course and admits he would be tempted if any offers came in from England.
The Dutchman told BBC London: ``People ask me the question if I could come back to England one day to coach and I say yes.
``I always enjoyed it here and it's a fantastic country to be involved in football. Maybe in the future I will be back in some way.''
Bergkamp joined Arsenal in 1995 and spent 11 years with the club, making over 400 appearances and departing before the Gunners moved to their new Emirates Stadium home.

Hull scored twice in the second half to beat Arsenal 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, frustrating the Gunners with its physical and aggressive style of play.
It was the first home defeat for Arsenal since losing 1-0 to West Ham on July 4, 2007.
Arsenal took the lead in the 51st minute when Theo Walcott weaved into the area with excellent control and passed to Emmanuel Adebayor, whose flick to Cesc Fabregas saw the ball come off Hull defender Paul McShane into the goal.
Hull equalized 11 minutes later when midfielder Geovanni struck a powerful 30-meter (yard) shot past goalkeeper Manuel Almunia.
Striker Daniel Cousin put the Tigers in the 66th with a header from an in-swinging corner.
Hull's goals were the first scored by an opposing team at Emirates stadium since Arsenal beat Reading 2-1 on April 19.

If you must give a fake name to the cops, be sure it's not the name of a burglar with arrest warrants out for him.
Arsenal legend Michael Thomas scored a real own goal when he gave a false name to police...which turned out to be that of a wanted burglar.
The 40-year-old footballer - who famously netted against Liverpool at Anfield in the last minute of the 1989 season to win Arsenal the old First Division - was a passenger in a car when it was stopped by officers checking drivers' insurance.
When Thomas, who was carrying a large sum in cash, was asked who he was he bizarrely gave the name of a wanted man. He was arrested and taken to Chingford police station in East London where he was questioned for two hours before being released without charge. A police source said: "Thomas was in a car that was stopped as part of a routine check. When he said his name was that of a wanted burglar he was obviously arrested. If you must give a fake name to the cops, be sure it's not the name of a burglar... more

From the Telegraph. I rearranged some paragraphs. I think its a little more entertaining this way.
"Mr Obama has joined a host of world figures to nail their colours to the mast by revealing his passion for his adopted club."
"First there was Osama bin Laden's association with Arsenal, which led to the north Londoners reportedly banning the terrorist from attending any future games."
"According to reports, the US senator has been a fan of the Hammers ever since a trip to England five years ago and watches Premier League games whenever his busy schedule allows."
"Obama's revelation could stir up tensions with Democrat rival Hillary Clinton further as the 60-year-old and her husband Bill are keen Manchester United followers."
