So just how woefully unqualified was Sarah Palin? Now that the election's over, aides to John McCain's campaign are starting to dish on the former Republican vice presidential nominee.
The Alaska governor who bragged about being able to see Russia from her home state was pretty uninformed on even the most basic details of the world, it appears.
As Fox News's Carl Cameron reported Wednesday, Palin allegedly thought Africa was a country -- not a continent -- and didn't know which countries were a party to the North American Free Trade Agreement. (That would be the US, Mexico and Canada.)
Cameron's report joins negative portrayals of Palin in Newsweek and the New York Times, which on Thursday revealed that Palin had not prepared for her disastrous interview with CBS's Katie Couric and did not inform McCain officials that she had scheduled an interview with two Canadian pranksters posing as French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The Fox reporter diplomatically noted that McCain aides were concerned about Palin's lack of "knowledgability," as Cameron diplomatically put it.
Conservative bloggers -- who may be Palin's only remaining defenders -- are furious at McCain aides' leaks about her. Michelle Malkin calls them "classless cowards" suffering from "Palin Derangement Syndrom," and RedState has launched "operation leper" to track down the aides who are dishing the dirt.

The View's conservative cutie Elizabeth Hasselbeck stunned viewers today by throwing her support behind president-elect Barack Obama.
Executive Producer Barbara Walters asked Hasselbeck, who campaigned with John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin, how she felt after seeing McCain/Palin go down to defeat on election night.
Hasselbeck said her daughter Grace, 3, had asked her who won and who lost the election. "No one lost," Hasselbeck said she told her child. "Seriously, today is a victory for this country."
Hasselbeck said the massive voter turnout and the excitement of the presidential contest inspired her. "I will get in a long line of supporters … for this president," she said.

NEW YORK, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the lone Republican on "The View," said Democrat Barack Obama's win in the U.S. presidential election was a victory for the country.
Hasselbeck, a longtime panelist on the five-woman talk show, was a vocal supporter of Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin.
Usmagazine.com said Hasselbeck, on Wednesday's episode of the show, discussed how she talked about the results of the election with her young daughter, who wanted to know who won and who lost.
"No one lost today -- and God knows I fought hard on the other side," Hasselbeck said. "Today is a victory for this country. The first black president. The first black first lady. The first black family. I haven't felt this good ..."
When her Democratic co-host Joy Behar asked, "Are you saying I was right all along?" Hasselbeck smiled and gave Behar a fist bump, Usmagazine.com reported.NEW YORK, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the lone Republican on "The View,"... more

A Tennessee man couldn't give much to the McCain/Palin campaign, so he gave his child's nomenclature.
"I took one for the cause," said Mark Ciptak of Elizabethton. "This is a little token to the McCain camp, and we are strong supporters of that ticket." Ciptak put "Sarah McCain Palin Ciptak" on his newborn daughter's birth certificate documents, ignoring the name he and his wife picked earlier.
"We actually came up with the name Ava Grace, and I secretively went and got another set of forms," Ciptak said. His wife Layla, he told the Kingsport Times-News still didn't know what he had done when he first talked to them. "Only some friends and family members who I have called for prayer support know at this point," he said. In a follow-up, Ciptak said that "she was not quite fond of me or of what I have done, but we've had some time to talk it over, and she has been really supportive through it all."
Ciptak's in-laws, on the other hand, are "planning my funeral behind my back," he said. "There's some resentment from the family."

Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin didn't report thousands of dollars in state travel reimbursements that she collected while living at home last year, according to her tax return for 2007.
As governor of Alaska, Palin collected per diems for scores of nights spent in her own home and working at a state office in Anchorage rather her office in faraway Juneau, the state capitol. The patterns varied, but the state paid her, on average, $890 a month, according to The Washington Post, which first reported the payments.
Although Palin and her husband paid 20 percent of their income in taxes last year, the per diems don't appear on their 2007 tax return.
The McCain-Palin campaign, which released her 2006 and 2007 returns, said Palin was in compliance with state policies and the reimbursements weren't taxable income.
Critics insist the reimbursements are taxable income because the Anchorage office is just 45 miles away from her home. Under IRS rules, that could be considered just commuting.
Palin spent less time in the Juneau office, but didn't claim per diems when she was there.
The tax return also shows that the Palins didn't make the optional $3 contribution for presidential public financing, the fund that is financing the McCain-Palin campaign. Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin didn't report thousands of dollars in state... more

Pakistani troops fired on two U.S. helicopters that intruded into Pakistani airspace on Sunday night (Sept 21), forcing them to turn back to Afghanistan.
It was the second incident in a week.
In this article dated Sept 20 Bush was specifically asked if he would send US troops in Pakistan if he new Osama bin Laden was there. He said, Yup!
But Pres. Bush has known for YEARS that Osama bin Laden was hiding in Pakistan.
http://www.rediff.com/news/2004/sep/07osama.htm
The above link will take you to an article (just one of many on the wb) titled "Osama in Pakistan, says expert" ---- and this article is dated Sept 7 2004!
Four years ago most experts were in agreement that Osama was esentially in Pakistan.
Pakistan has been essentially sheltering Osama, either outrightly or simply by not looking very hard for him. Pakistan needs US money to stabalize their economy and the US needs Pakistan to help with our with efforts in Afghanistan.
For 4 years we haven't pressed the issue with Pakistan.
So why 4 years later is Pres. Bush so adamant that he send troops into Pakistan?
There is only one thing there: Osama bin Laden.
Why now?
Because being able to confirm the capture or kill of America's greatest enemy only a month before a Presidential election would ensure the victory of Bush's biggest supporter....Sen. John McCain!
Is Pres. Bush risking the fragile house of cards the US and Pakistan have constructed over the last 4 years in a cynical attempt to help his biggest (and only!) supporter when the election in November?
Are these mysterious military incursions into Pakistani airspace really not so mysterious at all?
Is Bush planning to finally capture Osama bin Laden after nearly 8 years not out of any sense of justice...but merely to help the Republican win another election?Pakistani troops fired on two U.S. helicopters that intruded into Pakistani airspace... more

Convince me why you are voting for your particular Presidential Candidate ... I tend to lean towards McCain/Palin and one of the reasons is research I have done on both candidates. It is hard to weed through all the lies but possible. Who will do the best to protect our country, educate our citizens, take care of our veterans who protect our rights, build up our military, bring up our standing in the world, make us financially capable and stop outsourcing our jobs to foreign countries to the point that we lose out on jobs in our country, save our homes, help us afford food, heat, cooling, gas, homes again..... Who do you think has the wisdom and experience to get the necessary and basics things done in this country? Who is most patriotic? Who loves this country? Whose wife has contributed most to this country not just by donating money but time too? Besides the above scaring me, socialized medicine scares me as I have seen too many patients die from HMO (which is a form of it) who have to wait so long for authorization that their illness spreads or worsens, even through MediCal and Medicaid... how well does that work... This is just a part of what our next person in office who will lead our country will contend with. Convince me with Facts! And back them up...Prove it!.. I cant blame all our problems on the Bush Administration because we also have had a Democratically lead Congress to help make these problems. Maybe we need to get rid of a lot of them too! Thank you in advance.

Please understand what you are looking at when you look at Sarah "Evita" Palin. You are looking at the designated muse of the coming American police state.
You have to understand how things work in a closing society in order to understand "Palin Power." A gang or cabal seizes power, usually with an affable, weak figurehead at the fore. Then they will hold elections -- but they will make sure that the election will be corrupted and that the next affable, weak figurehead is entirely in their control. Remember, Russia has Presidents; Russia holds elections. Dictators and gangs of thugs all over the world hold elections. It means nothing. When a cabal has seized power you can have elections and even presidents, but you don't have freedom.
I realized early on with horror what I was seeing in Governor Palin: the continuation of the Rove-Cheney cabal, but this time without restraints. I heard her echo Bush 2000 soundbites ("the heart of America is on display") and realized Bush's speechwriters were writing her -- not McCain's -- speeches. I heard her tell George Bush's lies -- not McCain's -- to the American people, linking 9/11 to Iraq. I heard her make fun of Barack Obama for wanting to prevent the torture of prisoners -- this is Rove-Cheney's enthusiastic S and M, not McCain's, who, though he shamefully colluded in the 2006 Military Tribunals Act, is also a former prisoner of war and wrote an eloquent Newsweek piece in 2005 opposing torture. I saw that she was even styled by the same skillful stylist (neutral lipstick, matte makeup, dark colors) who turned Katharine Harris from a mall rat into a stateswoman and who styles all the women in the Bush orbit -- but who does not bother to style Cindy McCain.
Then I saw and heard more. Palin is embracing lawlessness in defying Alaskan Legislature subpoenas -- this is what Rove-Cheney, and not McCain, believe in doing. She uses mafia tactics against critics, like the police commissioner who was railroaded for opposing handguns in Alaskan battered women's shelters -- Rove's style, not McCain's. I realized what I was seeing.
Reports confirmed my suspicions: Palin, not McCain, is the FrankenBarbie of the Rove-Cheney cabal. The strategy became clear. Time magazine reported that Rove is "dialed in" to the McCain campaign. Rove's protege Steve Schmidt is now campaign manager. And Politico reported that Rove was heavily involved in McCain's vice presidential selection. Finally a new report shows that there are dozens of Bush and Rove operatives surrounding Sarah Palin and orchestrating her every move.
What's the plan? It is this. McCain doesn't matter. Reputable dermatologists are discussing the fact that in simply actuarial terms, John McCain has a virulent and life-threatening form of skin cancer. It is the elephant in the room, but we must discuss the health of the candidates: doctors put survival rates for someone his age at two to four years. I believe the Rove-Cheney cabal is using Sarah Palin as a stalking horse, an Evita figure, to put a popular, populist face on the coming police state and be the talk show hostess for the end of elections as we know them. If McCain-Palin get in, this will be the last true American election. She will be working for Halliburton, KBR, Rove and Cheney into the foreseeable future -- for a decade perhaps -- a puppet "president" for the same people who have plundered our treasure, are now holding the US economy hostage and who murdered four thousand brave young men and women in a way of choice and lies. Please understand what you are looking at when you look at Sarah "Evita" Palin.
