What was first a mystery of when the 'sex shop' lotto winner would claim their prize, is now a long explanation into how he/or a friend didn't go into the shop to buy the ticket. The prize money was picked up on behalf of a group of family and friends named 'Team Victory Club' who stated some of the money would be donated to a local church.
"They also decided to take a lump sum payment of $69.6 million, before taxes. And Mike Greer really wants you to know that he did not go into that sex shop:"-Gawker

Derren Brown appeared to make history last night by successfully predicting the numbers of the National Lottery.
The illusionist seemingly wrote down the six winning balls of the Midweek Lotto Draw hours before they were randomly chosen by the machine.
He had written down his predictions on six white balls earlier in the day which were turned back to front from the audience.
He then watched the lottery draw on a TV screen and turned round his white balls to reveal they were exactly the same as his own numbers 2,11,23,28,25 and 39.
His incredible feat was broadcast from a small studio live on Channel 4 at the same time as the BBC1 screened its Midweek Lotto programme at 10.35pm dispelling any rumours that the show was prerecorded...

The same convenience store in Hendricks County sold two $1 million lottery tickets -- probably within a few days last week.
With more than 4,000 retailers of the scratch-off and online games, Hoosier Lottery officials said, it is pretty rare, if not unique, for lightning to strike twice at the same place -- the Plainfield Dairyland on Main Street -- in such a short time.
Lottery officials confirmed Tuesday that a $1 million jackpot ticket sold at the store matched the winning six numbers drawn Saturday in the Hoosier Lotto online game. The numbers were: 2, 14, 31, 32, 35 and 48.
That Hoosier Lotto ticket probably was sold Thursday, Friday or Saturday. The winner has not yet claimed the prize.
The second million-dollar winner at Dairyland for the weekend was a Cash Blizzard scratch-off ticket sold Saturday.
John Hensley, 30, and fiancee Vanessa Mitchell, 28, already have been to the lottery headquarters in Indianapolis to claim the prize, an after-tax payout of $36,000 per year for 20 years. The same convenience store in Hendricks County sold two $1 million lottery tickets --... more

Degli Martinez, a 55-year-old immigrant from Paraguay bought lottery tickets at a minimart and when the next day when he went back to the minimart, he found out he was the jackpot winner.
Martinez became the winner of the biggest single jackpot prize in the 30-year history of the lotto in New York state: $65 million.
The minimart clerk, Supriyo Bhattacharjee, urged Martinz to go to the lottery office to receive his winnings. While stopping at home, Martinez accidentally threw away his ticket, but still had the verified police.
With that, Martinez embarked on a year-long wait to receive his money. Although Martinez had the receipt and it had been verified that the lotto ticket was bought at the same minimart, law had it that whoever had actually bought the ticket would have 365 days to claim the prize.
Martinez waited, working at his a maintenance man at a Park Avenue apartment. Finally, the day came and Martinez and his wife Maria opted for the lump-sum payment of $21,176,066.
Martinez still works as a maintenance man saying he enjoys his job, and his only solid plans for the money are to pay for his daughter's college tuition.

Of all the jobs I imagined people would want to leave if they won the lottery, working at McDonald's is pretty high up the list, but it seems a UK man has thrown a proverbial spanner in the works after he won £1.3m on the lottery and has returned back to his £5-85 an hour "Staff Trainer' position.
In true fairy-tale ending his manager said "We love having him here. It's as if he never went away."

SCORE!!! An ATM outside a supermarket in they city of Hull in northern England drew crowds of hundreds when it started paying out double what it should have.
People would put in the daily maximum of 300 pounds and would get 600 pounds with a receipt for 300 pounds.
The sad part: It is not known if the people will get to keep the money, they have a record of all withdrawals.
