South Korea recently announced plans to construct a sustainable super-city that stands to eclipse the size of Masdar in the UAE. Designed by Foster + Partners together with PHA and Mobility in Chain, the Incheon mixed-use development will be a model of self-sufficent sustainability and will serve as an epicenter for the development of green technologies just north of Seoul.
Upon completion the Incheon eco-city will comprise a community of 320,000 residents centered around a spine of transportation and green industry. The hope for Incheon is that the area will become a high-tech research and development center for sustainable industries that manufacture photovoltaic panels and wind turbines. True to this ideal, the masterplan incorporates cutting-edge green technologies such as biomass energy generation, hydrogen fuel cells, and hydroponic roofs.
Slated for construction over the next 10-15 years, Foster + Partner’s design for the eco-city will include both high and low-density developments that shoot off from a central transportation spine connecting three main sites. A Light Rapid Transit system will connect a center for Korean economic cooperation in the north of KangHwa with the southern half, combining green technology industry with community, cultural and residential buildings.
Currently the area is predominantly agricultural and supports approximately 35,000 people. Terraced farming will be replaced in part by green roofs, thus minimizing loss of agricultural space. The layout of roads and buildings will follow the natural topography of the land, and buildings will be kept under 50 meters in height. The smaller roads and pedestrian avenues extend from the central transit hubs, creating a tightly-knit community with easy access to transportation.
Grant Brooker, a design director at Foster + Partners, said: “Working at a very strategic level, we saw the masterplan as an opportunity to explore the sustainable potential of this extraordinary island, exploiting its pivotal position close to Seoul and its rugged landscape. We are delighted that the judges share our vision and, along with our collaborators at A+U, PHA and MIC, we hope to develop the project into the next stage.”South Korea recently announced plans to construct a sustainable super-city that stands... more

A recent book by Mark C. Henderson proposes a new strategy for carbon emissions and global warming. It focuses on the causes of problems rather than their symptoms.
The approach could be more efficient and powerful than cap-and-trade and deliver change quickly and on the scale that we need. It would also be applicable to many other environmental issues. A comparison between his strategy and a cap-and-trade approach is available the publisher's website.
The book was positively received by David McCorquodale, Co-chair of Green Pages, the US Green Party quarterly. The review, the introduction, and details about the strategy are available at the publisher's website listed below.

Warning: The volume may be a little high on this so please turn down the speakers to a comfortable level; This is also Part 1 out of 2
This Next USWGO News edition is about a Self Interview with the new Amateur News producer Brian D. Hill of USWGO News talking about Agenda 21 is response to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQRqhpJ5JXo
Agenda 21 is feared to mean government controlled apartments and forcing many Americans to live in one area with mass transportation for the UNs so called sustainable development, the UN actually has a page talking about Agenda 21 at http://www.un.org/esa/sustdev/documents/agenda21/index.htm
This may mean that you can no longer live near any type of state and/or national parks which means people will be heavily talked by going to national or state parks forcing many national, state, and regular parks to close down. It can also lead to many people being forcefully relocated from their owned homes by the government and military, it can also lead to people being no longer able to hide things from the government and be forcefully searched and seized of what the government doesn't like you to have, and no longer be about the law anymore but lose laws that makes anyone a potential criminal.
It also means that you may be relocated into very high story buildings with very small government monitored and controlled apartments forcing everybody into cammed controlled and possibly perverted housing departments for sustainable development of nations. It also means your internet access may be controlled/Filtered or possibly forbidden at your housing location which means that the government can control what information your allowed to look at and what you can't while teaching all propaganda controlled content and possibly glorying Adolf Hitler, or other NWO Dictators.
It will also mean not only complete net censorship, it may also mean government controlled thermostats, government controlled meals you receive, government controlled electricity, government controlled toilets/showers/bathrooms, and mean you can't do what you want even though you worked hard to buy a home you were taken away from.
Agenda 21 needs to be investigated and we need to see if they are using environmentalism and natural disasters to force Agenda 21 to become our countries agenda.Warning: The volume may be a little high on this so please turn down the speakers to a... more
