The 42nd Annual Chicago Gay Pride Parade kicks off from the northside Lakeview neighborhood at noon on Sunday, led by Chicago’s new mayor, Rahm Emanuel. It will be the first time in a long time that a sitting mayor has appeared in the parade, a salute to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
Emanuel is a regular at the parade, having appeared at the festivities almost every year while he served in Congress. He has been a relentless advocate of gay causes, including HIV/AIDS funding, civil unions and gay marriage. Joining him in the parade will be Governor Pat Quinn, recently who signed the Illinois civil union legislation, as Illinois became the sixth state to allow civil unions or their equivalent, giving same-sex couples the same state-level rights that come with marriage.
The parade usually draws around a half-million celebrants, but coming right on the heels of winning the long-sought right for same-sex couples to enter into civil unions and the historic passage of the New York bill allowing same sex marriage Friday night, this parade is expected to swell far beyond a half-million rainbow-clad spectators.

“Hollywood Abs” is a ridiculously silly short film produced by Terry Richardson, variously acknowledged to be either one of New York City’s very favorite “edgy” fashion photographers, or a totally creepy camera-wielding predator. Luckily, in this short film, Richardson’s only being just plain goofy.
All the guys who really, really want to become fabulously fit absolutely need to watch this film to see how a famous fashion photographer becomes the next promotional customer of a very popular (but completely non-existent) work-out routine that ‘s taking over Hollywood like hot bananas. “Hollywood Abs” is all you need to get those defined steamy, sexy super-muscular abs versus the merely “so-so” look of New York abs. Actor Matthew Gray Gubler tells you in his very convincing and happy tone of voice how you too can get to this point. Just watch this bit to see pure ridiculousness.

An eclectic mix of stars, The Stanley Cup with Blackhawks defenseman Brent Sopel, The Chicago Cubs’ Ernie Banks and country singer Chely Wright, basked in the celebration of an estimated 500,000 people who attended the 41st Annual Pride Parade in the Lakeview neighborhood. Sopel, who stood on the float of the Chicago Gay Hockey Association, said he participated in the parade to honor the memory of the gay son of his former general manager.

Yves Saint Laurent precedes each men’s fashion show with a film. This season, American photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber shot the film, titled “Ain’t Nothin’ Like the Real Thing.” Weber is perhaps best known for his ad campaigns and catalogues for Abercrombie & Fitch, which feature semi-nude, sexy hotties. In this film, Weber’s exploration of nudity opens with a clothed model singing to a cute little puppy dangling out of a jacket pocket. Then he and his friends start taking their shirts off (in slow motion). Then they take all their clothes off and jump into a swimming hole out in the wilderness. Weber splices in some vintage shots of nude women, too. The whole thing culminates with the guys cradling an adorable baby, along with some more torso flaunting.
It’s Saturday, so you surely have seven and a half minutes to spend watching this!

The Isabel Marant Otway Boot Sparks a Craze, (and boots up the booty)
The day after French designer Isabel Marant unveiled her Fall/Winter 2009 collection in Paris in March, the Web sites for boutiques across the U.S. were flooded with emails about studded ankle-high boots, asking when they would be arriving and whether they could be ordered in advance.
Monika Beurmann, a 35-year-old IT consultant from Chicago, says that while looking at the fashion show on Style.com, she "fell in love with the futuristic design of the heel," and
pr e-ordered a pair from Diani, a boutique in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The boots in question, which didn't hit stores until September, are called "Otway," and they can fairly be called the "It" boots of the season. Made of supple suede, the cuffed booties are adorned with rows of circular studs and are held up by a four-inch triangular heel.
Those who are still interested in owning them can forget about it. With the exception of a few pairs on eBay, they are out of stock nearly everywhere, despite a $1,295 price tag.
Mary Blair, a 45-year-old mother of three from Santa Barbara, recently got her boots after being on a wait list for two months. Upon seeing the Otway style in a magazine, "I just thought, 'Oh my god I have to have those.' They kept creeping their way into my brain," she says.
The edgy boots were a departure for Ms. Marant, who is known for her bohemian style. In an email, she said that the inspiration for the Otway came from "this need to…push back a little against the look for my short silk chiffon print dresses."

The new sexy 2009 FDNY calendar, City of the Brave, is chock full of strapping New York City firefighters. But this year, there's something different: the hot FDNY hunks will appear in the new calendar anonymously, their faces shadowed or concealed by the wide brims of their hats. Last year, FDNY Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta banned future editions of the annual calendar after nude photographs had surfaced of 2008's cover model.
In this new 2009 FDNY calendar, the firefighters are photographed engaged in scenes depicting their actual roles in active duty: sawing through locks, rappelling off buildings and saving victims. And even though they're photographed incognito, you still get a hot good look at their very sexy hard six-pack abs, lats, pecs, biceps and triceps.
