The American Israel Public Affairs Committee on Thursday praised the Obama administration’s strong support for Israel’s self-defense, as well as the strong support members of Congress from both parties have given Israel amid the Gaza fighting.
“These statements demonstrate that America continues to firmly stand with Israel and her right to defend herself,” AIPAC said in a statement of its own Thursday. The group particularly underscored US funding for the Iron Dome short-range missile defense systems which has thwarted over 130 recent rocket attacks since the start of Operation Pillar of Defense. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee on Thursday praised the Obama... more

"It’s raining Israeli bombs in Gaza yet again and as the death toll mounts some people are having themselves a laugh at the expense of the dead. I’m talking about #HamasBumperStickers, a twitter hashtag that caught on like wildfire yesterday mostly among people who despise Palestinians (and Arabs in general) and think it’s funny when Israel kills them.
While I’m not usually one to amplify the trolling rhetoric of heartless bigots, I feel it’s important that these particular individuals be shamed and ostracized for their sick jokes, especially since the hashtag they are using has apparently been trending worldwide. Here are just a few:"
A reader sends along that it wasn't only IDF spokespeople and random Israel supporters who were pushing the #HamasBumperStickers hashtag. Former AIPAC spokesman, and current Israel Project CEO & President, Josh Block was also promoting the Twitter feed. Here Block retweets rightwing commentator Michelle Malkin pushing the hashtag and linking to a post titled "Supporters of Israel mock jihadists with #HamasBumperStickers, libs outraged."Original Post (Rania Khalek) "It’s raining Israeli bombs in Gaza yet... more

"A major international naval exercise last month in and around the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea, led by the U.S. Navy with more than 30 other nations participating, located fewer than half of the practice mines laid at sea.
This outcome of the highly publicized military drills — not publicly known until now — underscores how difficult it may be for the United States and its partners to detect and incapacitate waterborne explosive devices that Iran has threatened to plant if its nuclear facilities come under attack.
Out of the 29 simulated mines that were dropped in the water, “I don’t think a great many were found,” retired Navy Capt. Robert O’Donnell, a former mine warfare director for his service, told the NewsHour. “It was probably around half or less.”
“I just felt that they should have done better,” said O’Donnell, clearly disappointed with the outcome of this key measure of performance. “That’s the point of the exercise, to do mine-countermine [operations] in an area, and to find the mines.”
Now a consultant, O’Donnell was invited by the Navy to observe the September exercise firsthand as it unfolded."
The U.S. can not attack Iran because the attack and any Iranian retaliation would increase the price of oil to new record levels. Even if Iran were not to react to any attack the expectation of a possible reaction would be enough to explode the insurance premiums for any ship entering the Strait of Hormuz. With record oil prices over more than a few weeks all major economies would experience serious damage. Poorer economies would experience high price increases for staple food with social upheavals, like the Arab spring, certain to follow.
The Iran hawks argue against this. They say that U.S. navy is capable of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open even if Iran intends to close it. Even if the Strait were temporarily closed the U.S. navy would be able to reopen it immediately. They are wrong.
The U.S. navy has for some time tried to develop new mine hunting systems to be put on the new class of oversized unarmed speedboats Littoral Combat Ships. These efforts have so far failed. When they eventually succeed the capability of the new system will likely be much less than expected.
Unless there is technological leap in mine hunting and clearing coming up (unlikely), the threat and the capability of mining the Straits is likely enough to keep Iran safe from serious military aggressions."A major international naval exercise last month in and around the Persian Gulf... more
The arguments are the same, the intonation is the same, even the advisers are the same.
During last week’s speech, Netanyahu stressed that if Iran is not stopped, it will be on the verge of producing a nuclear weapon by next spring, or by summer at the latest. Therefore, Netanyahu argued, a red line must be drawn to stop the Iranian nuclear program.
Netanyahu’s remarks during the 2002 congressional hearing sounded very similar to his UN speech. The arguments are the same, the intonation is the same, even the advisers are the same – Netanyahu’s current diplomatic adviser, Ron Dermer, who wrote the prime minister’s UN address, can be seen in the 10-year-old video sitting behind Netanyahu in the congressional hall.
Aside from the fact that both Dermer and Netanyahu look 10 years younger, the primary difference between the two videos is one word: 2002’s Iraq has been replaced by Iran in 2012. Here are some more quotes:
“There’s no question that [Saddam] has not given upon on his nuclear program, not [sic] whatsoever. There is also no question that he was not satisfied with the arsenal of chemical and biological weapons that he had and was trying to perfect them constantly…So I think, frankly, it is not serious to assume that this man, who 20 years ago was very close to producing an atomic bomb, spent the last 20 years sitting on his hands. He has not. And every indication we have is that he is pursuing, pursuing with abandon, pursuing with every ounce of effort, the establishment of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons. If anyone makes an opposite assumption or cannot draw the lines connecting the dots, that is simply not an objective assessment of what has happened. Saddam is hell-bent on achieving atomic bombs, atomic capabilities, as soon as he can.”
“Today the United States must destroy the same regime because a nuclear-armed Saddam will place the security of our entire world at risk. And make no mistake about it — if and once Saddam has nuclear weapons, the terror networks will have nuclear weapons.”

Netanuahu officially has no credibility after that cartoon bomb diagram.
NEW YORK—Following his speech to the United Nations General Assembly this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Friday that he is “pretty satisfied” with his trip to the U.S. to instigate World War III.
“All in all, I think I accomplished my goal of pushing humanity toward the brink of complete and utter annihilation,” said Netanyahu, adding that his implicit calls for international military action against Iran, which would ultimately escalate the conflict to an Armageddon-level of death and destruction, went “fairly well.”
“I think I did a good job laying the groundwork for a nuclear holocaust that will kill billions of people and eventually end the world as we know it. Sounded like everyone really liked it, too.” When reached for comment, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told reporters that he was “equally happy” with his own efforts to nudge the world slightly closer to a full-blown apocalypseNetanuahu officially has no credibility after that cartoon bomb diagram. A pro-Israel lobbyist for the Washington Institute For Near East Policy suggests staging a terror attack on Iran to build support for the war.
The Project For A New American Century, another pro-Israeli operation also wrote about the need for "new Pearl Harbor" in their documents, which appears to have been the 9/11 terror bombings, in order to kick off the wars in Iraq and the Middle East.
"I frankly think that crisis initiation is really tough,” said Patrick Clawson, who also heads the Washington Institute’s Iran Security Initiative, in response to a question about what would happen if negotiations with Tehran fail. “And it’s very hard for me to see how the United States … uh … President can get us to war with Iran.”
As a consequence, Clawson said he was led to conclude that “the traditional way [that] America gets to war is what would be best for US interests.”
Intriguingly, he went on to recount a series of controversial incidents in American history — the attack on Pearl Harbor, the sinking of the Lusitania, the Gulf of Tonkin incident, and the blowing up of the USS Maine — that US presidents “had to wait for” before taking America to war.
“And may I point out that Mr. Lincoln did not feel he could call out the federal army until Fort Sumter was attacked,” Clawson continued, “which is why he ordered the commander at Fort Sumter to do exactly that thing which the South Carolinians had said would cause an attack.”
“So, if in fact the Iranians aren’t going to compromise,” the Israel lobbyist concluded with a smirk on his face, “it would be best if somebody else started the war.”
"One can combine other means of pressure with sanctions. I mentioned that explosion on August 17th. We could step up the pressure. I mean look people Iranian submarines periodically go down someday one of them may not come up. Who would know why? We can do a variety of things if we wish to increase the pressure. I'm not advocating that but I'm just suggesting that ... this is not a either or proposition.... We are in the game of using covert means against the Iranians. We could get nastier at that."A pro-Israel lobbyist for the Washington Institute For Near East Policy suggests... more
UNITED NATIONS — Israel is bullying the United States over the alleged threat of an Iranian nuclear weapon, using the prospect of an Israeli military attack on Iran to force the hand of its much larger ally, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Monday.
Americans should be insulted if their government takes marching orders from Israel, he added.
Ahmadinejad dismissed the idea that Israel might well attack on its own, over the objections of the United States, and said Israel itself was an inconsequential interloper with no rightful place in the Middle East.
“I look at it from the outside and I see that a few occupying Zionists are threatening the government of the United States,” Ahmadinejad said during an interview with American editors and reporters.
“Is it the Zionists who must tell the United States government what to do, such as form a red line on Iran’s nuclear issues, and the United States government must make such vital decisions under the influence of the Zionists?” Ahmadinejad said, using the Iranian regime’s term for Israel. Warmongers on your teevee hard-selling the American public on war with Iran because of "The Movie."
Former U.S. ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk said on Sunday that he thinks the U.S. will go to war with Iran over its nuclear program in 2013.
Speaking during a panel on the CBS program Face the Nation, Indyk said, "I'm afraid that 2013 is going to be a year in which we're going to have a military confrontation with Iran."
The former ambassador stated that "Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapon," but added that there's not a lot of time left until it does.
Indyk went on to speak about instability across the Mideast region, saying that is making Israel "very nervous."
"The turmoil we see from here, they see from a much closer perspective, and that combines with the, as the prime minster puts it, the race of Iran towards weapons capability," he said.Warmongers on your teevee hard-selling the American public on war with Iran because of... more
President Barack Obama jets off to campaign events Monday in the critical swing state of Ohio, even as Libyan officials and locals have shredded his defensive claim that a spontaneous protest against a Californian’s anti-Islam video caused the Sept. 11 killing of four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador.
“The idea that this criminal and cowardly act was a spontaneous protest that just spun out of control is completely unfounded and preposterous,” Libyan President Mohammed el-Megarif told the liberal National Public Radio network.
Instead, the killing was a military-style attack, he said.
That attack hit the poorly guarded group of diplomats, who had to be rescued by Libyan reinforcements.
The Obama administration’s claim that the murderous Benghazi attack was a unpredictable byproduct of a spontaneous protest gives White House officials a short-term way to fend off media questions.
Any investigation may create a damaging pre-election scandal for the president, who touted his ability in 2008 to build peace between the United States and conflict-prone Muslim countries.
But accumulating media reports — and Libyans’ statements — suggest the administration severely underestimated the danger of jihadis in Libya, many of whom have seized weapons from the armory of former Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi.

Israeli shit-stirrer maker lying about his film? What a shock.
The story of the Muhammed movie which sparked deadly protests in Libya and Egypt gets weirder. The actors who appeared in it had no idea they were starring in anti-Islam propaganda which depicts Muhammed as a child molester and thug. They were deceived by the film's director, believing they were appearing in a film about the life of a generic Egyptian 2,000 years ago.
Cindy Lee Garcia, an actress from Bakersfield, Calif., has a small role in the Muhammed movie as a woman whose young daughter is given to Muhammed to marry. But in a phone interview this afternoon, Garcia told us she had no idea she was participating in an offensive spoof on the life of Muhammed when she answered a casting call through an agency last summer and got the part.

‘Stars Earn Stripes’ is a new military-reality program that first aired on Aug. 13. It features minor clebrities paired up with soldiers, law enforcement personell or first-responder to teach the ‘celebrities’ the skills nneded for waging war.
The following letter, sent to NBC by a fan of The Ugly Truth best explains why we must GET THIS SHOW CANCELLED.
Attn. Robert Greenblatt, Chairman
30 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, NY, 10112
Dear Mr Greenblatt,
I am disgusted by your new show “stars Earn Stripes” which mocks and trivializes actual warfare and conveniently omits the human carnage it leaves behind.
Your obvious goal is to recruit a new generation of Gentile cannon fodder by making war look glamorous, sexy and exciting. You want to make sure Israel and world Jewry have an endless supply of Gentile patsies who will die and become maimed fighting whoever Israel decides is the enemy du jour.
The soldiers who star in your show are not heroes but rather war criminals because of their participation in criminal wars of aggression against Iraq and Afghanistan. They aremass murderers and psychopathic killers responsible for over 2.5 million deaths. The US military now mirrors the Israel ‘Defensew’ Forces in its sadistic brutality and mindless hatred towards the Muslim world, due entirely to Jewish control of my country and the mainstream media but people are waking up.
I will never again watch NBC, MSNBC or CNBC. I have already started contacting the advertisers on your filthy show and am in the process of alerting thousands, if not millions, of the need to get this piece of Jewish war propaganda off the air.
As we know all-too-well, all selling is about slick, sexy advertising. The American people were talked into launching a war against Israel’s enemies because of the media-intensive event known as 911. The program in question here, Stars Earn Stripes, is a continuation of that slick, sexy selling. If this program is not deep-sixed, more and more young people will be seduced into signing on the bottom line and destoying their lives, the only beneficiary of which is Israel and her agents of influence around the globe.
We are asking that the readers of this site contact NBC and voice your opposition to this program for the reasons listed in the letter below. Furhtermore we are asking you to contact those who are paying the bills for this program–the advertisers– and tell them you will not purchase their products, the 3 main ones listed below–

Recently, queer anti-Zionist activist Professor Judith Butler wrote against false accusations of anti-Semitism. She presented herself as defending a Jewish ethical tradition that taught her to not remain silent in the face of injustice and to respond to the suffering of others.
Reverend Dr. Nancy Steeves, whose partner Dr. Dawn Waring just left for Bethlehem to support Palestinians and Israelis working for peace, has asserted that the Judeo-Christian tradition strongly values justice. In a similar vein, queer Muslims assert that the Qur'an emphasizes overcoming one's hatred to be just to others, even if that means going against oneself or one's family.
Many queer activists rise above their circumstances and assert their voice for justice that is not limited to LGBT issues. Belonging to a vulnerable minority, they understand prejudice and can empathize with "others." No wonder, many are outspoken activists on a whole array of social justice issues.
Dr. Butler, among other issues, has highlighted the plight of Turkish transgendered people, human rights violations in Guantanamo Bay, police violence and racial discrimination in the U.S. and anti-Semitism in Germany.
Likewise, queer Muslim activists, despite facing immense prejudice, continue their work quietly and with dignity. Their work ends up helping the very Muslim communities that so strongly shun them.
Such activists not only face social ostracism from conservative Muslim communities but at times also experience strong condemnation from others. In 2009, El Farouk Khaki experienced immense pressure and condemnation when he spoke at a Queers against Israeli Apartheid event.
Regardless, he speaks out on many issues including multiculturalism, racism and religious and racial profiling in the war on terror. His work on refuge protection includes representing marginalized groups like people living with AIDS and women fleeing domestic violence.
